Behold my fourth makeup tutorial straight from the pages of Alt Fashion Magazine. This one was inspired by my love of Polynesian Pop and the things that inspired Polynesian Pop to begin with. The longing for a tropical paradise filled with crystal clear ocean waters, tropical flowers, delicious fruity concoctions in your hand, mysterious Tiki gods and half naked women in grass skirts catering to your every whim. It's what the American public longed for during the dreary days of World War II and it's what I long for now. That's why the Tiki bar was invented to begin with you see. Sweet, sweet escapism. The colour combination of various violet shades is reminiscent of purple flowers only found in the most obscure and uninhabited virgin paradise located somewhere in the South Seas. The aqua inspiration is drawn from the pristine sky and sea which would surround such a location Just add a Mai Tai and VoilĂ . Also..you can see the whole tutorial in living color. My previous 3 tutorials were in B&W which unfortunately made them slightly harder to follow. Glad that changed with Issue 10. Wouldn't want anyone to miss out on the lushness of these colors. Tahitian Orchid can be found in Issue 10 of Alt Fashion Magazine on pages 21, 22 and 23 respectively. Without further ado, behold Tahitian Orchid: Page One Page Two Page Three And here's an enlarged version of the finished look: Isn't Derek's ginormous Tiki just the most awesome thing ever? I love it Special thanks to Meagan of Kyla Photography for the photos as well as killer hair styling skills. Girls got mad hair game, I tell you And thanks to Derek for the tiki, of course First time seeing my makep "How To" work. Be sure to check out my previous work as seen on the pages of Alt Fashion Magazine. -Blue Macaw(Issue 6) -Peacock Angel(Issue 7) - 50% Class 50% Trash(Issue 9) Stay tuned for the details of my new writing project shortly. Also...here's a nice flash back to Black Sun Festival 2008. I rocked the runway as part of the Techstyles Fashion Show for Dementia Clothing. I found the video from the above mentioned fashion show recently, so I feel like it is my duty to share it with all of you. Click here to see some Vanity Kills Black Sun catwalk action. I can be found somewhere around the 3:00 minute mark wearing the pink outfit. There's some hair pulling involved too, ha ha ha Enjoy <3 Vanity Kills

Get it? Got it? Good. So let's get this shit straight... What? The Synthetic Noize Experiment Where? Club Diablo 517 Washington Street Buffalo, NY 14203 716.842.0666 When? Friday November 7th What time? 9 PM-4AM How much? $5 cover you cheap pieces of trash What will I be hearing? I will provide rhythmic noise, dark ambient and IDM for your aural pleasure. I will spare you from the likes of Whitehouse and Mz. 412. This is Buffalo and I know better. What goes best with coke? Hookers Allow me to flyer spam you now. K.Thx. I've been way too tired and apathetic to whore my projects. It's not like I'm not doing anything. It's just that I'm too fucking disenchanted to tell you about it. Somehow it takes all this effort to post the scans of my latest makeup tutorial or a flyer for an event. I'm just incredibly drained. But this isn't the place to talk about any of that. I hope that I return to my usual "Let's rally the troops for the cause of supporting my latest endeavor" perky promotion whore self shortly. I guess I just don't feel like myself. That happens occasionally =/ I gotta get back to 23947983478923479347 e-mails I've been lagging on. <3 Vanity Kills

This Friday, September 20th 2008, I am spinning @ Technoir!!!!!!!!

Much like these pythons, my beats are sick. Come see me spin @ Technoir on September 20th, 2008!!!!!!!!!!! *Guido Mode Initiated* O hai youse guise... Is there a vet around? Cause these pythons are SICK! *flexes biceps* (Thanks to my friend Luke for that one) *Guido Mode Terminated* More about these sick pythons in a few.. Alas meanwhile allow me to inform you that this upcoming Friday, September 20th, 2008, I will be spinnin' beats as sick as these pythons at Technoir here in good ole Buffalo, NY. I haven't been spinnin' much after moving to the Buff, so this will actually be the first time that I will be gracing you fine folks with one of my sets. It will be a Terror EBM set, since I don't think that the club going population of Buffalo is quite ready for one of my rhythmic noise sets. Here is the flyer for your viewing pleasure: The theme of the night is fetish wear, so dress to impress. Any excuse to bust out the latex is a good excuse in my book. [From the Technoir Event Invite page:] Doors at 9. Show begins around 9:30. The band will be playing for 45 minutes. Dance Event starts whenever the band finishes (so probably before 11:00). Some ideas: Dominatrix, Military, Anime/Cosplay, Student/Teacher, Bondage type clothing, French Maid, Policeman or woman, a movie or RPG character you like. *Note- Please have good taste in choosing your outfits. A lot of skin is good, but not TOO much skin please! In other words, no cock socks or diapers! As always, dressing in theme is NOT required. *************************************************************** (I know, I know that all of WNY was simply DYING to see me DJ in a cock sock, but unfortunately I have to disappoint at this time. Next time though....yes, there's always a next time] Standard Info: Only $5 to get in, you cheap fucks! Location: Mohawk Place 47 E. Mohawk Street Buffalo, NY 14206 United States Anyhow, that's the Technoir fetish party 411. But that doesn't mean that the festivities are starting that Friday, OH NO. Ray a.k.a Ramon El Jamon is flying in from NJ this Thursday and I'm all about showing my homies a good time, so I'll be taking him to the Chocolate Bar. We think that circa 8:00 PM will be a good meeting time. The Chocolate Bar really reminds me of NYC bars back home thanks to the delicious drinks(They have Wedding Cake Martinis and Creme Brulee Martinis on the menu) and the high drink prices. It's like being in Manhattan! Except you're on Chippewa. Ahhhh...Chippewa. Who doesn't love drunk fratboys??? In any case, this is an open invite to all my friends. I can't stay out super late on Thursday, because I do wake up for work @ 6:00 AM on a daily basis, so I won't be out till like 3:00 AM or some shit like that. But I'll be out decently late indulging in what can be best described as boozy milkshakes in the company of people that I don't want to kill. So...lemme know if you're game. Don't tell me that you don't find the prospect of erotically feeding chocolate covered strawberries to Ray tempting. Also...don't tell me that the incredibly hypnotizing powers of Jenn's mighty cleavage don't compel you.... ^^ Don't you wish that your name was there??? Anyhow, back to the topic of sick pythons and cracked pipes as of last Monday I have been hitting the gym at Allentown Athletix . Gonna be pumping some iron soon, because I'm really looking forward into getting back into weight training. Just doing cardio for now. Not doing bad for someone who hasn't broken a sweat exercising in the past 6 months. I used to walk on a daily basis when I still lived in NJ, but I have sort of lapsed since moving to the Buff. When I lived in Binghamton, my eating habits and gym habits were pretty on point as well, so I am looking forward to re-establishing these good habits again. No, I don't think I'm "big", LOL. The little Size 5 tag in the back of my clothing brings me back to reality if I start getting asinine thoughts like that! But am looking forward to getting cut. I want to bellydance too, which is something that I've been dying to get into for years. If any of you local girls want to take a class with me, I think that it would be so much fun! I look forward to going to the gym on a daily basis now and before I joined Allentown Athletix I couldn't wait to go back. I LOVE working out now, it destresses me and helps me with my productivity and staying on track when it comes to keeping up with my other assignments. I remember back in 2004 when I started going to Bally's you couldn't fucking pay me to go. One of my boyfriends used to bribe me with stuff so that I'd get off my ass and go instead of just complaining. Funny how things change.... Maybe because I 100% pay for my own gym membership now whereas my Mom used to pick up the Bally's bill. Somehow I didn't feel guilty about skipping days. Or weeks.Or months then. You definitely value things more when they come out of your own pocket. If anyone wants to work out with me, let me know. Things are always more fun in pairs <3 Vanity Kills

*50% Class 50% Trash* Makeup Tutorial scans from Alt Fashion Issue 9

Still hoping for color at some point, but for now be content with the B&W. My third makeup tutorial that I have written for Alt Fashion Magazine magazine. This particular face paint job consists of metallic shades of copper, antiqued golds and shimmering pearls. Inspired by the elements that make Vanity Kills who she is: half lady(see new pictures by Jenny Link for proof), half trashy tart(see every other picture of me in existence). Thus I couldn't find a name more befitting the look than 50% Class, 50% Trash. I am who I am and make no apologies for it. That is reflected in everything I do. 50% Class, 50% Trash can be found in Issue 9 of Alt Fashion Magazine magazine on pages 32,33 and 34 respectively. I didn't contribute to anything to Issue 8(I totally spaced out on the deadline), but have another makeup tutorial already submitted to Issue 10. Thanks to the beautiful Melanie for scanning these, for I lack in the scanner department at the present time. One day these will be in color. This I solemnly swear, LOL. Less talk, more scans you say????? Indeed. Page One Page Two Page Three The finished look in colour *1* *2* No, I don't look like a snobby bitch at all or anything, LOL. Photos taken by the wonderful Meagan of Kyla Photography She also makes the cutest little mini top hats, so you should stop by her page and go give her some money This is an order. They look pretty good and with zero Photoshopping done In any case, here are the links to the scans of my previous makeup tutorials that I have done exclusively for Alt Fashion magazine: - Blue Macaw - Peacock Angel Not makeup related, but it has to be said. *Love No Longer Lives Here* by Autoclav 1.1 is fucking amazing. If you do not buy it then you are made of 100% pure fail. That is all. Stay tuned for more bright makeup "how to" action from me in the near future. Q: What should I be doing? A: Sleeping. And to all a good night. Waking up @ 6:15 in the morning for work doesn't really keep me from staying up all sorts of ungodly hours. That is probably not the wisest thing, so it will be sleepy time soon. <3 Vanity Kills

Hot Lip Service newsletter action

Just in case you've been living under a motherfucking rock, I Vanity Kills, just debuted my dating & relationships advice column called Lethal Love for the Lip Service blog. Feel free to peruse my bio here. I'm getting a whole lot of promo from the Lip Service side of things, which is awesome. They're really excited about this column and have a lot of faith in my writing ability. I have been also advised by Mich, Lippy's webmistress, to start taking high quality screen shots of my work and save every column, so that I can professionally shop my writing around in the future. I want to go back to college for journalism sometime, so I am sure that it will help. I've tried taking screen shots, but I suck at Photoshop so I cannot get the resolution I need. I guess I'll have to ask for help or something. Need to be saving that shit on a weekly basis. Image from last week's Lip Service promotional newsletter. It's kind of small, because the evil that is Photobucket compresses the ever loving hell out of everything. But look for me right above the pants on sale. <3 Vanity Kills
