Take Back the 80’s at Pyramid Club

Minnie D’Moocha (Rockabilly Burlesque) & Francine “The Lucid Dream” (The Pink Room Burlesque) are joining forces to bring NYC Take Back the 80’s Burlesque at Pyramid Club in the East Village. This monthly show will kick off with a Madonna theme on the Material Girl’s birthday, August 16, 2012 and will continue every third Thursday of the month!

Take Back the 80s will take you back to when times were simpler. The economy was booming, you could still smoke in taxis, your ruffled ankle socks were all the rage, The Go-Gos were America’s sweethearts & everyone just LOVED the president. These were the 80s. Minnie & Francine are very excited to rock their way into NYC’s Barracuda Heart with music, burlesque, comedy, go-go and a whole lot more. This show is old-school East Village at its best at the Pyramid Club, which has outlasted our beloved Brownies, CBGBs & Don Hill’s.

You can’t help but think of Joan Jett & Lita Ford as our resident bad girl, Minnie, sings and thrusts. Good girl, Francine, purrs & bounces – it’s easy to believe she’s Belinda Carlisle & Tiffany’s love child. With all the glamorous burlesque girls and go-go dancers you’ll feel like you’re high – but just say NO to drugs.

If you can’t afford the price tag of seeing Madonna in concert, our show is priced in 1980s US dollars. We’re pretty sure the $6 cover of our show won’t hurt your day-glo wallet. So come live the glamorous life: strap on your jelly shoes, bangle bracelets & come over for some burlesque – stay to dance the night away in this legendary East Village club!

About Francine: Singer, burlesque performer & producer, Francine is the founder of The Pink Room: David Lynch Burlesque, Franny’s FLICKS & Francine’s Pink Room. She has performed at festivals all over the North America & was featured in an upcoming movie about 1920s burlesque by James Gray starring Joaquin Phoenix, Marion Cotillard & Jeremy Renner.

About Minnie: Burlesque Performer, singer, and avid swing dancer, Minnie d'Moocha is the founder of Rockabilly Burlesque, Hell's Belles Burlesque, and the Rock and Roll Roadshow. A full time tattoo model (and former front woman for many rock and punk rock bands), Minnie brings an edgy, rock and roll vibe to all her acts. She's performed all over the United States and Canada, and has her eyes set on the rest of the world!

Off to Orlando to perform at Nerdapalooza this weekend with Epic Win Burlesque! Representing Harry Potter! It's gonna be an awesome show! Sat night, 1030 pm at the Social, 54 N Orange Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32801!

Meet my new baby!

Her name is "Harley Quill" (yes, that's a play off Harley Quinn), and she is an Algerian Dark Grey hedgehog with badger stripes! She's too young to leave her hedgie mom yet, so I can't pick her up till mid august, but I'll post more photos when I do!

My nerd dreams are coming true...

I got asked to perform at Nerdapalooza this year! I'm totally stoked! Sat night show in Orlando!

...also, I have been cast for an upcoming episode of Comic Book Men, the Amc show.

And someone called me their favorite 'Nerd Queen" on facebook. At least I'm the queen of something!
