About Me
HUMAN was the brainchild of Guitarist/Vocalist James Kalevas. He sketched out many originals over the last few years which he planned on using once he formed the group with musicians that he felt could live up to the challenge of their progressive metal Intricacies and who would also appreciate the style in it of it’s self. While playing Bass in a former band he met Drummer James Jones. After a stint playing with this group Kalevas enticed Jones to come aboard his project HUMAN and the two began completing and recording songs in the summer of 2007. However, they still needed a bassist to round out the group. After a few auditions in December of 2007 HUMAN added bassist Dennis Torent. TRAGIC PARADOXES, their first album consists of songs such as Idiot Child, jesus christ freak, phoenix, & Live For Your Self. Each track on this album has a very specific intention by Kalevas reflecting personal attitudes and/or emotions for occurrences in his past even though you’ll notice an underlying theme throughout the entire album. One could compare this collection to a mini musical which scorns stupidity, attempts to open the eyes of a blind public, scrutinizes suicide, and condemns those who leach off of society and tumble wayward into a fruitless nothing. Much like other writers, these songs are about people that he cares or once cared for thereby reflecting the Paradox of these Tragedies. HUMANS music has been quite often compared to TOOL although the unique melodic vocal styling sets this group apart from most. Heavy fast paced grooves in the guitar lines accompanied by colorful accents with thunderous rhythms on the drums support the melodies and convey the message of what this band is truly about. Check out HUMAN, you wont be disappointed. banner
