Hellooo! I'm Jonathan. And I've managed to defy the stereotype of Scottish people being drunk 24/7 long enough to write this profile. I'll start with the hardest part, who am I? Well, if I were given the unreasonable proposition of describing myself in a single word, "free thinker" is the closest I could get. Every thought, belief and opinion is my own, satisfied through exploration, curiosity and questioning. I want to know everything about everything to get as close to the truth as I possibly can but don't worry, that doesn't mean I don't respect your beliefs. Everyone is welcome to say stop and say hi to me. After all how boring would it be if everyone were the same huh?
Now the boring part! For a living, I run a bakery for a supermarket chain and yes, I can and absolutely will become a source of free cookies for you if we become friends and yes, I have to wear one of those trilby hats at work. Unfortunately it doesn't make me look like a detective in 1940's Los Angeles. In my spare time, I participate in citizen science projects and take an interest in astronomy. I might go back to college or uni and get my degree one day, but for now I'm satisfied with the contribution I can make as a volunteer.
In my other spare time that isn't spent looking like a low budget, one man Big Bang Theory I'm usually gaming. I'm one of the minority who could be called a "trophy hunter", currently over 1200 and counting, that really isn't something I should be admitting in public! As for the type of games I play, anything plot heavy or open world is good. So Metal Gear, Skyrim and Fallout are amongst the favourites.
In my other, other spare time, I usually have the TV on one of the movie channels, I have a strong preference toward horror and sci-fi. Same goes for literature, in fact almost every book I own features zombies at some point which brings me to music, I'm rarely not listening to it. Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Shinedown and Alter Bridge are some of my favourite musicians though most of the time I throw whatever metal playlist I happen to see on Spotify first.
I should probably mention at this point I do go outdoors!
That's all I have to say for myself. So feel free to say hi, tell me about yourself and finally, reward yourself with ten Gryffindor points for reading all of that. You made it!
