"Just the shop." He shook his head, pulling the kettle from the burner as it started to steam, pouring contents into one cup before pausing and pouring the rest into another, sliding it across the counter toward her. Perhaps that would get her to give him a little personal space. "I'm busy enough that I don't have time for any of that."

As he poured her a cup of coffee, she eyed it in surprise. Had he made one specifically for her or was he waiting on someone? Looking up at him in surprise, she shook her head. "..And...is that something you want in the future? A girlfriend? A wife?" After a moment, she took the cup with a soft thanks, lifting it to her lips almost uncertainly. After taking a drink, she gave a soft laugh. "It's a little bitter...do you always drink it black?"

"I want to finish this building first. Then I can focus on all the rest." He shook his head with a small smile. "I brew it strong...I keep long hours and I have to stay awake." Before he could stop himself, he reached into a tall cabinet, pulling down a container of sugar for her.

"I just mean if you want a wife or a girlfriend...wear your stupid gloves." She laughed softly, shaking her head as she took another drink, grimacing at the taste. When he smiled, she realized how good-looking he was. With a soft flush to her cheeks as he got down the sugar, she looked up at him in shock before offering a soft thanks and adding a couple of spoonfuls to her cup. "I mean...your looks are enough to get you pretty much anyone you could want, but I'm sure you knew that already. But a woman sees those nails and she's going to turn away, trust me. I would." She smiled slightly, before his words struck her and she looked up at him curiously. "Finish the building? It looks finished to me..."

"Something wrong with my hands?" He asked, watching her as he leaned a hip against he counter. "They're worker's hands. I keep them as clean as I can." At the last, he pointed toward the ceiling. "The living area is unfinished upstairs. It will be an apartment for me when everything's done, but I barely got the shower and toilet hooked up yesterday. There's a lot of work before I can move the rest of my things in."

"If you took better care of them, your nails would be clean and you wouldn't have all those callouses and cracked spots." She pointed at him with the spoon she'd used for her coffee. At the words abot the upstairs, she frowned slightly, thinking his words over for a momet before she smiled. "..can I see it?"

"Those calluses and cracked spots would come back the next time I had to sand a table." He pointed out, raising an eyebrow at the display. That was...almost cute. At the last, he nearly spluttered on his coffee. "See my apartment? Why?"

"And then you could care for your hands all over again and maybe someone would want to hold them some day." She laughed softly, putting the spoon back onto the counter before seeing him react as he had. Frowning slightly, she rolled her eyes. "Oh, relax, it's not like I"m hitting on you or anything. I'm a painter, remember? I got y start by painting houses and offices. I can look around and giv eyou an estimate on how much it'll cost to fix it and maybe help you budget to see if you can hire some help so you're not sleeping in a tent for another three months."

"Why do you care so much?" He asked, more than a little unnerved by the familiarity she was treating him with. "I don't even know your name, miss. How do I know you from anyone that might pass on the street?" He felt his face heat a little at the mention of sleeping in a tent. Did she really know that much about him, or was it just a lucky guess...?

"Why do I care...?" She hummed softly for a oment before smiling as bright as the sun outside. "...Because I've been where you are. And when I came in here, I know I've been annoying, but you've humored me. You've talked with me, I assume because you can tell I"m..kind of alone right now. You've given me coffee and answered all of my questions..you've been kind. I want to be kind in return." She reached into her pocket, pulling out a business card covered in bright colors and happy symbols, a card she'd designed herself. Sliding it to him, she pointed at the name. "Kim Ilri. If you wanted my name you should have just asked, ahjussi." She had no idea what his name was either...but she was too focused on talking to ask. "You can ask anyone in town and they'll tell you, you won't find a better painter than me." With another bright smile, she stood, stretching, unaware that her shirt lifted slghtly to reveal a flat stomach and low-riding jeans. "If you want me to take a look, let me know. I can really help you if you want it." With a wider smile, she gave a small bow, certian he'd kick her out if she didn't leave soon, anyway. "And I'll go ahead and put in that order for the desk. I need one desperately."

Surprised by the blunt, sunny honesty in her words, he took the card and looked it over. He would have expected a child to design it, he thought in passing. At the last, he nodded, tucking the card into his pocket before finding one of his own. It was minimal, very simple, and the only evidence that his shop had a name. He hadn't gotten around to deciding if he wanted to carve a sign or paint one. "What are you looking for in the desk? A certain style, storage space, dimensions...?"

As he haned her the card, she looked it over as well, wondering if he'd intended to keep it so...bland and boring. After a moment, she offered a small smile. He was at least considering taking her up on her offer. As he asked about the desk,s he told him aabou thte one she hand now, the dimensions, everythign she used it for. She was about to mention something about the color before she stopped, hearing her phone buzz. Looking down at it, she gave a small smile, the look not quite reaching her eyes. It would be at least another day...three more days without him, without her Heetae. She shook her head, looking up at the man again. "If you want me to help you, if you want me to check out the apartment and maybe even work with you to restore it, you'll have to tell me before tomorrow evening. I have a lot of people requesting my assistance and some of my jobs are even in Seoul...I'm in high demand. So take your time, think on it...let me know." She smiled again, bowing once more before stepping toward the door.

Was she really so talented? Or was this something she had made up? He couldn't be certain. "I'll call you when I make my decision." He said at last. "And draw up some plans for the desk in the meantime. Thank you, miss Kim." As weird as she was, she was a customer. He had to be polite. Especially if she was going to replace several pieces of furniture in her house. Shaking his head, he took another drink of coffee, wondering just why he got a sense of dread at the thought of having to see her several more times in the coming weeks.

Getting work done quickly was starting to become a priority, Joon found, finally giving that strange woman a call for help finishing the painting in his apartment. It would be easier with two hands rather than one, he rationalized...and maybe keeping her busy might keep her quiet as well. He promised a good rate, setting up a meeting time and deciding to finish some last-minute work on another commission before she arrived. The day was warmer than he expected, finishing a task and peeling his shirt from his back to allow the breeze to cool him off a little. Using the fabric to mop the sweat from his face, he let out a sigh. This would be a long day...

As Ilri stepped into the room, glancing around and calling softly for the carpenter, she frowned when he didn't answer. Maybe he was already in his apartment... Deciding to go on in, to assume he was waiting for her, she made her way out the back door and down the stairs, freezing as she saw the man, half-naked, back to her...outside. Wasn't it cold? It was almost winter. She felt her cheeks heat slightly as her eyes trailed over hte expanse of his back. She'd never seen a man that was quite so...fit. Shaking her head, forcing that thought from her mind, she cleard her throat. "...Ah...Carpenter Kim-ssi."

Turning at her greeting, lowering the shirt from his face, he nodded toward her. "Miss Kim. I must have lost track of time." He made no move to put his shirt back on, trying to lower his body temperature before he went back upstairs. "Let me put these tools away and then we can start."

"I hope you're intending on changing. Working with chemicals and tools without a shirt is...inadvisable." She felt her cheeks heat again, wondering if he realized at all that he aws shirtless. Her heart gave a startling jump and she turned around, putting her back to him. She'd kept her hair in a low ponytail, wearing a painting vest, old worn and torn jeans and a band t-shirt from a concert she and her husband had gone to in their first year of marriage. Heetae wouldn't like to know she'd seen another man like this, she was sure. He was the jealous type, after all.. "I'll...wait inside." Stepping into the broken down apartment, she looked around, eyes trailing over the walls, fingers brushing over the work already done.

"I was just trying to cool off." He raised an eyebrow, a small smirk on his lips at her reaction. Did a shirtless man fluster her so much? Seeing her in clothes fit for work made her seem more legitimate as a painter, he observed, though it was a more flattering sight than he expected. Pulling on a worn tank top that already had a few smears of paint on the front and sides, he stepped inside, running his fingers through his hair. "I was able to do a little, but the work will be done much faster with another pair of hands." He started, standing behind her to inspect the wall as well.

As her fingers brushed over the initial paint job, she shook her head. "You didn't do it well. Have you ever painted a wall before." Glancing back at him, she pointed to a few of the spots that weren't quite covered, spots that had dripped. After amomet, she explained the best way to paint, the most precise, the most efficient. "We'll have to redo the entire apartment if you want it to look any kind of decent." As she looked back up at him, she offered a brigt smile. "That's why I'm here, though." With that said, she set her bag down, standing for a moment before letting out a near-surprised noise. She iddn't want to get paint in her ring. Looking down at the small wedding ring encircling her finger, she pulled it off before tucking it safely into her pocket. "Now...Should we start?"

(At some point she could totally lose her ring at his house...after he's started liking her. He can figure out it's like one of those cheap walmart rings. xD)

((It'll get misplaced pretty quickly. Deliberately. Maybe off of a bridge. XD))

Flushing darkly, he cleared his throat. "I was working with paint that had been left behind in a storage shed...I didn't realize how old it was, or that it wouldn't be enough." He defended softly, listening to her directions carefully. She was abrasive, but she knew what she was doing at least... Watching her pull the ring from her finger and tuck it into her pocket, he nodded, gesturing to the supplies he'd bought the night before when he realized the original paint he planned on using was beyond help. "Ready when you are. You weren't wearing that yesterday, were you? I didn't realize you were married."
