The Alley
NoWealthNoRuin HK's Territory
Much less intricate than the Rabbit Hole's labyrinth, just a small series of back roads behind the Shooting Star and the other businesses on the block.

"I think I can walk." She still didn't have shoes, she thought absently, but the path should be easier than the glass-littered alley he had found her in. She wished she knew what to say to comfort him, settling on an apology. "I'm...sorry for pulling all of that up. It seems like...I can watch people, but I never know anything helpful to say."

"Are you sure? I don't mind carrying you." He smiled again, this time the look more genuine. He shook his head at the apology, giving a soft laugh. "Don't worry abou tit, really. I just...don't talk abou tthings like that, okay?"

"Okay. If I start...just change the subject. I'll get the message." She gave a weak laugh, relaxing a little as she saw some of the light she spoke of return as he smiled. "I'm...not used to talking to someone who isn't pointing out all of my flaws. I'll have to get used to talking to real people again..."

Grinning, he parked the ar, climbing out and opening her door for her. "Come on. Get on my back." With a grin, he offered his back to her. "And for the record, I see no flaws so no worries."

"I can still walk, you know..." She commented, though she figured that arguing would waste more time than it would help. At the last, she gave a wry laugh, climbing onto his back. "You haven't known me long enough to see them..."

"Get on my back before I strap you on myself." He grinned, feeling her climb on before standing with ease. As he heard the last, she gave a soft chuckle. "I don't buy it. I think you're perfect."

"Perfect?" She couldn't keep from chuckling, arms moving around his shoulders as he started to walk. "Now I know you're just trying to get me to feel better."

"maybe i am... But that doesn't mean I'm lying. I think you're the perfect version of you. No one can do you better." He smiled, shifting her on his back. "I'm sorry... If I'm hurting you.

"N-no, this is...okay." She found it was likely less pain than she would feel while walking on her own. "No one can do me better...I don't even know who I am anymore, officer Han." She added with a wry laugh.

"then why don't we figure that out together? It'll be fun." He grinned back at her before starting toward the flickering street light.

"Fun? It sounds like it has just as much potential to be horrible." She couldn't keep from commenting, looking around them at the winding path, the ledge overlooking the town, and the small, quiet houses on the other side. "This is a nice neighborhood..." Much nicer than the one she had been living in.

"shut up, it'll be fun." He lsughed softly again, eyes bright. "You trust me, dont you?" At the mention of the neighborhood, he looked around for a moment before nodding with a smile.

"I trust you, yes. But I wonder if you have the right ideas..." She teased, chuckling softly.

"A little like I should heal quickly so you don't have to keep going out of your way to carry me." She couldn't keep from rolling her eyes at the wink, though she was smiling. "But I'm...feeling a lot better than I was. Thank you."

"Don't worry so much, friend." He laughed softly, shaking his head as his fingers tightened on her thighs. "I'm glad you're feeling better. You need to rest when we get home..."

"Rest sounds...pretty great." She nodded with a faint chuckle, too aware of the warmth of his hands. She wondered for a moment what sort of training he had gone through in order to carry her with such ease. "Did you...did you tell your mother that you were bringing a guest?"

He gave a soft hum. "...no. But she won't care, I promise." Finally reaching the front door, he knocked gently before calling softly to his girlfriend, telling her that he was home and opening the door.

Sure that there would be some sort of problem, she ducked a little to make sure she wouldn't hit the doorway, unconsciously making herself seem smaller in the face of the unknown. A sleepy mumble from behind one door made her wonder if that was the mother he spoke of, though lights were still on in the house.

With a laugh, he stepped inside, setting her on her feet. "I brought a guest, she'll be staying with us for a while." He called through the house, slpping off his shoes and into a pair of slippers before looking back at her. "Come on..they're eating."
