"Dealing with them? What, they're not going to survive the night?" It was a weak joke, faint amusement turning to surprise at the last question. "I...uh, yeah, actually. I didn't have time to eat between shifts."

He looked at her curiously, obviously a little surprised by her words. "Do you want them to survive the night? They did this to you." He gestured to her state before he heard the last. Nodding, he gestured to the opening of the alleyway. "Lets go."

"I don't...I don't know, I've never wished anyone dead before. Doesn't seem like they'd learn a lesson." She shrugged lightly, moving from the wall as he gestured to her. "Where are we--" She broke off as she moved too quickly, jarring her ribs again. With a soft curse, she put her hand on her side again. "That...will take some getting used to."

"They won't learn a lesson and I've grown tired of giving them chances to do what they're told." He shook his head. "So, if you must know, no, they won't survive the night." Seeing her move, he was by her side, hand on the small of her back, other hand on her arm to steady her. For only a moment, a split second, there was something like worry, concern in his eyes. "Breathe. The pain will fade."

She closed her eyes, taking deep breaths as she leaned a little against him and waited for the pain to pass. Once it faded from an angry roar down to the low grumble it had been before, she nodded, looking up to the man once again. Was he...worried? She had to have been seeing things. "I...I think I'm okay." She said at last.

Keeping his hands on her, lingering a bit more for a moment, he straightened, slowly letting them fall away and looking down at her. "Where would you like to go? What would you like to eat? You can choose anything in the city."

"Honestly, right now I'm dying for fried chicken." She said after a long moment's thought. She knew it was a cheap choice, but comfort food was comfort food. "I don't know what restaurants are on this side of town. What do you like?" Was that a rational question to ask someone like him, a voice at the back of her mind asked, but she quickly brushed it aside. Right now he was treating her like a person...not like the person she owed over four thousand dollars to.

He nodded, fingers moving up to push his hair back into place once more. "Fried chicken. I know a great place." As he heard the last, he looked down at her, raising a brow. "Are you worried that asking me a human question is a bad thing? Do you think I don't go out because of who I am?"

"I don't know a thing about you, ahjussi." She pointed out, shaking her head with a small smile. "I still don't know what to expect. I don't know what you do when you're not working...other than wandering around seedy back alleys."

"You may not know a thing but you seem to have a lot fo fears and assumptions on me. Am I right?" AS she mentioned wandering around the alley, he couldn't hold back a soft chuckle, the sound more pleasant than others before. "...I wasn't wandering. I told you, I was working."

"Can you blame me? For a minute I thought I had run into more trouble than those guys could ever give me." She felt her smile gain a little strength at the sound of his laugh. "My first experience with your line of work was when Hyunmin called me two weeks ago begging for my help."

Frowning, he looked at her, raising a brow. "...how much money exactly did you borrow?" Two weeks ago...and his men were already after her? Was it a small sum? Why hadn't she been able to pay it back yet?

"Hyunmin was two thousand in the hole when he called me. He'd been dodging your guys for a few weeks." She shook her head with a frown. "So, since your boys were pretty clear about his debt falling to me since we're family...I owe four thousand."

He frowned once again, knowing exactly who Hyunmin was. He'd dealt with the boy before. And he also knew that the money her brother owed had been paid. He'd cashed out, won a lot of money just a few days before. That meant his men were after her...and adding to her debt to pocket it themselves. Tensing, he watched her for a long moment before shaking his head. "You owe two. The other two has been taken care of. And from now on..if you're in the position you need to borrow money from me again, call me directly. I don't want you dealing with any of my men anymore. The ones you have been dealing with will be dead by tomorrow. So you dnot have to worry anymore. Alright?"

"I...I what?" She asked, confusion rising as she looked up to him once again. The thought that those men would be dead soon should bother her, she thought with a frown. But somehow...she felt nothing but a small amount of relief. Not only was she safe, so was anyone else that might be in danger from these thugs. "So his half was paid? Did he give over the money I gave him?" She asked, frowning slightly. He still wouldn't return her calls... "I don't...make a habit of taking money I didn't earn. Tonight is exactly why. But if an emergency happens...you'll be the one I call."

"Hyunmin paid his debt to me a couple of days ago. He won a lot of money on one of his gambling binges.. and he paid back what he owed. I imagine he'll be right back in debt in a couple of weeks, but for now he owes me nothing." As she spoke, saying he would be her contact, he nodded. "I don't want you going to Cha Hakyeon or Kim Himchan. Both of them are not as...forgiving as I am. And I'm not forgiving at all." He shrugged. "I just make sure my business is run fairly. I'm by no means a good man..but I am fair."

"Little shit didn't even tell me..." She mumbled without thinking, shaking her head. At the last, she hummed softly, "A moral mobster...I'm glad your men were the first ones to help me out, if that's the case. I guess unfair deals are pretty common around here."

Raising a brow at her words, he couldn't hold backa small smile. After a moment, he gestured To the end of the street. "This way." With a soft hum, he nodded. "Unfair deals are what makes Seoul..."

"Is that it? So...you're the exception to that rule, then?" She asked, brushing her hair out of her face. Compared to the man at her side, she was sure she looked like a mess. Her clothes were disheveled, the bruise by her eye was starting to sting more insistently, and blood from her lip had stained the collar of her shirt.
