At his words, she looked up at him, giving the first, bright, honest smile she ould remember giving in years. It was brighter than the sunshine, more beautiful than a diamond, her hair fell in her eyes. "I'm sre it'll work. I"m patient..and all you need is a little patience, I'm sure of it, ahjussi."

For a moment he was sure his heart had stopped. He was sure that such a beautiful smile shouldn't have been possible, much less belonging to the strange trespasser that stood in his kitchen. Flushing darkly, he gave a faint, nervous chuckle, turning his eyes back to the pan before him. "I...wish I had that kind of faith." He said at length, clearing his throat.

"Maybe some day you will. You just need someone to give you a chance." She hummed softly, watching him for a moment before moving her hand to push her hair back from her face. He had stared, he had frozen. Had she said somethign wrong? AFter a moment, she smiled again, looking up at him. "What are you making?"

Explaining the dish to her, complicated parts to most more simple than any paperwork he could be trudging through to him, he moved to push his sleeves up past his elbows, revealing toned forearms as he made sure nothing could get in his way and impede his work.

As he slid his sleeves up to his upper arms, her heart jumped. She flushed softly, unable to avoid appreciating the shape of his arms before she heard a soft knock on his door. The secretary was back...and she was panicking. It seemed she'd been found out. "...They...are probably going to send security up here. I'm sorry...for dragging you into it."

"Don't worry about it. I'll make sure no one has to be in trouble." He assured her with a shake of his head, looking to the door and steeling himself for the added stress of having to hold a short conversation with the sweet but easily frightened woman that worked just outside of his door. Moving to open the door just enough to see the secretary, he waited for her to speak first.

"Will you even be able to? I mean, your secretary said you've never really even talked to her. You send emails and-- she cut off as he mvoed tot he door. Her cheeks flushed softly, watching him move, wondering how he'd handle the situation.

AS the door opened, the secretary kept her head bowed low, cheeks burning as she avoided looking at the man at all costs. "CEO Eun... There was a woman here looking for you. She..she disappeared and I'm worried she may be hiding in your office...and she may be after something of yours in there. I think she wants to...to steal something or--or harm you or something."

"She managed to sneak in." He didn't want to lie to her, after all, unaware of how the woman must have been worrying over letting her by. "But she...is my friend. There's nothing wrong here, don't worry."

Hearing him say the woman snuck in, she immediately began to apologize excessively before she heard the last and froze. She slowly lifted her gaze to look up at the man before ducking ehr head again, cheeks burning, knowing if the stories were true, he'd kill her. She bit her lip hard. "She..she's in there now? I...I don't need to call security? Or..escort her out? You..you hve a--I-I mean...she's...your friend? But..but you told me-- my orders...are not letting..letting anyone in... I..I should be reprimanded..somehow..."

"You don't have to be afraid. It was unexpected...but not unpleasant. From now on, she is the only one allowed to sneak in..." That sounded strange, he noted, cringing before running his hand over his face. Of course she was terrified of him. He was very aware of the stories that went around the building about the company's strange and reclusive leader. He wondered which of the ridiculous rumors she believed. He wanted to ask after her health, if she needed a break or if she needed anything, but he couldn't find the words or the situation to say anything. "You won't be punished. You don't deserve it." He said at last, wanting to assuage at least some of her worries. This was the longest conversation they'd had since she was hired.

"She's the-- you want me...to allow her to come in...?" Was it possible this man was capable of friendship despite the rumors? Hearing the last, She gave another bow, hoping the mam didn't hear the way he stomach growled. She knew better than to ask for a break... "th - thank you, sir! I'll work hard and I'll do better not to disobey my orders again."

"Why...why not take a break? You've been here before everyone else...and I don't think I've seen you take a break or go out to lunch." It was an effort to speak so much, he thought, feeling his hands start to shake under his mind's insistence to back away and return to the safety of his studio. "Have you...eaten yet?"

She shook her head quickly, cheeks flushing darkly as she felt the panic set in. If she took a break he could fire her. Or worse. "I - I don't need a break, sir. I'm not hungry.' Her stomach growled and she flushed, backing a little away from the his office. "I'm sorry to bother you, sir..."

"Miss, please--" He blurted out as she backed up, feeling his nervousness double as she backed away. Taking a deep breath, he ran his teeth over his lip as he chose his words carefully. "Don't...don't neglect yourself. If you need something...a break, to eat...don't be afraid to. I..." Why was this so hard, he thought bitterly, hoping he wasn't making a fool of himself in front of the secretary and his new self-appointed friend. "I don't want to see...you hurting yourself because of me. Your health is important."

The woman began to insist once again that she didn't need to eat... she was certain this was just a way too give him a reason to fire her, to torture her for letting the girl in. She bit her lip, opening her mouth to speak before a voice stopped her.

Yeonhui heard the exchange, knew the girl was likely terrified this was just a way to get back at her for failing her job of guarding his door. Knowing her new friend would likely not be able to get it through to her that he really wanted her to be healthy and comfortable, she stood, making her way to his side and placing a hesitant hand on his back. "Secretary Kim..." she smiled softly. "I'm Yeonhui, we met in the hall earlier. Why don't you go have a seat? CEO Eun will provide lunch for you, today. You have nothing to worry about. We both want you to be healthy, alright?" She smiled warmly, seeing the shock and fear slowly fade from the woman's face. Watching the secretary bow once more, this time with a small smile, she gavea bow of her own before moving back into the room, but not before she heard the woman mutter something about how Hwanki's girlfriend was much less scary. Hoping that wouldn't completely destroy her friend's mind, she sat back at the counter. "I hope you don't mind I added a third to our lunch reservations....she doesn't have to eat with us if you don't want. But just telling her to go get lunch, she'd refuse. The rumors going around about you terrify her...At least this way you can be sure she eats something...and you know it's good, right?

His face fell into his hands as the door closed once again, torn between self-loathing for failing to get his point across with as much ease as Yeonhui and mortification at the implication that the secretary thought that they were dating. He hoped his new friend wouldn't be embarrassed by the assumption. From behind his hands, he sighed, shaking his head. "I don't mind. I just...I don't know how...they keep thinking these things."

Hearing his distress, she turned in her seat to look back st him, seeing his face in his hands, she couldn't hold backa small smile. He really was too shy... with a soft hum, she looked back at the kitchen. "Will thr food burn if you're over there..?" He seemed most comfortable with her, with everything, when he was cooking. She smiled, hoping to snap him out of his mortified state. She wouldn't mention the assumptions of the woman outside, she didn't want him getting even more freaked... "I'll be honest, I believed them a little, especially when I saw your knife collection. You don't talk to anyone, no one has really seen you...your habits are odd, almost frightening...just because people don't understand and you can't explain. If you want them to stop thinking you're a frightening man, you have yo show them you're not. You've got a long way to go to be able to do that, I'm sure....but that's why I'm here, right? To help..." she smiled softly, hoping he'd look at her and see that she meant every word about helping him. But he was likely too terrified to look up, she knew...

A flash of panic went through him at the mention of anything burning, head snapping up to look to her as he heard the last. Relaxing just a little, he felt the corners of his lips pull toward a smile. "I'm odd...and frightening...I'm not sure anyone will believe anything else. I don't know how you do." Moving back into the kitchen, he moved to add to what he had made, moving from two portions to three. "You might be fighting a losing battle..."

"You're odd, you're frightening..but you're kind. You're compassionate. I can see a good man in you. You want to help, you just don't seem to know how unless you're in the background." She smiled softly. "It's not a losing battle. And some day you'll see that." With a soft smile, she reached out, hand resting on his wrist gently to catch his attention. "You took a big step...standing up for me..and talking to her. You did good today, CEO Eun-si."

He froze for a moment, eyes widening at the gentle contact. Giving another faint smile, he ducked his head for a moment. "I...I'm not sure I believe you. But it's kind of you to say. Thank you..."
