Putting on a much more believable smile, he nodded. "Of course I"m okay. Why wouldn't I be?" Pointing at the food, he cleared his throat. "Now, make me dinner."

"I thought the point of this was for you to learn how to make your own dinner." She laughed softly, shaking her head as she turned back to her work, explaining what she was doing and what the purpose would be.

"I like watching you, though." He smirked slightly, watching her work for a moment and leaning over to listen intently to his words. After a moment, he cleared his throat. "Your...debt to me...is gone, just..just to let you know."

She shook her head with a laugh before hearing the last, surprise clear on her face as she turned to meet his eyes. "My debt..." She had nearly raised enough to pay him back, she knew. It was something he had to be aware of. But she had saved his life...after he had saved hers. It seemed that they were even. "Thank you..." She said at length, feeling the need to add, "I hope you don't think that's the only reason I've been doing all of this."

He tited his head at her words, offering a small smile. "Not only did you save my life, you took care of me for the last week. You don't owe me anything anymore. And I"m not saying that because I think you did it for that reason. I'm saying it because I know that's not the reason." He smiled softly. "And you're cooking me dinner. Just...make me a deal that you'll cook for me once a week or something and we can forget the debt."

"Once a week...I think we have a deal." She turned enough to smile warmly at him, tucking her hair behind her ear as she attempted to ignore the way her heart skipped a beat at the offer. She still couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that he had returned instead of going home for good. "With at least one good cook in your family, I find it hard to believe you can't cook anything." She added with a soft laugh.

"I burn water." He laughed softly, shaking his head as he looked up at the girl. "I can't even cook to save my life." He smiled, fingers taping lightly on the counter. "So tonight what are you making me?"

"How do you manage--nevermind. I'm sure it involves some almost unbelievable story." She laughed softly. "Tonight is stir-fry. It's a great way to get rid of leftovers. And if you want to put some oil in that pan and turn the heat on for me, you can officially become my sous-chef for tonight." She couldn't hold back a teasing smile.

He looked at her, raising a brow with a small smile. "You trust me with the stove enough to heat your oil? Did you not hear the burn water comment?"

"I'll keep a close eye on you." She laughed softly. "You can't learn if you don't try, right? And if the apartment burns down, we'll order takeout."

Chuckling, he moved to do as he was told, turning on the stove before his gaze drifted back to her. "How was work?"

"Long." She laughed softly, blowing softly at a strand of hair that had fallen into her eyes as her hands were busy. Stubbornly, it fell back into place. "Someone brought their dog in, though, so it wasn't all bad. Hopefully when business picks up people will remember to tip the wait staff again."

"A dog? You like animals?" He smiled, watching her blow the hair back. After a moment, he gave a small smile and he reached out, long fingers brushing her hair back and tucking it behind his ear before he leaned against hte counter. "Have you ever considered finding another job?"

"I love animals. This one was adorable; he reminded me of the dog I had growing up--a really sweet lab." Her warm smile faltered for just a moment, feeling her heartbeat pick up at the gentle touch. Thanking him softly, she felt her face heat as she scooped the finished vegetables into a bowl. "I think about it a lot, honestly. But almost everyone in this neighborhood knows who my brother is and they're convinced I'm just as much of a deadbeat or a criminal. Help wanted signs tend to disappear around me." She added with a wry chuckle.

"I'm glad you got to see the dog, then." He smiled, seeing her cheeks flush and noticing the shift in her manner. He frowned slightly. "I'm sorry. Should I not have done that? "As he heard the last, his frown deepened and he looked up at the girl. "So what about moving? New neighborhood, new life?"

"D-don't worry about it. I just wasn't expecting it." She shook her head, smile gaining a little strength as she moved to slice the meat she had pulled from the refrigerator. "I've thought about it, when my lease is up. Leave an empty apartment the next time Hyunmin needs someone to be his alibi. I guess I just...keep putting it off."

Relaxing as he saw she didn't seem to mind, he smiled as well. His hair fell into his eyes in soft waves and he watched her cut the meat in clear fascination. After amoment, he smiled a bit wider. "So why not do it now?"

"Breaking the lease, for one." Though, the money she had been saving to repay him with would be enough to cover the fee, she thought, now that he had declared her debt null and void. "The rest of it...I don't know. It's a really big change, I guess."

He smiled softly, thinking her words over for a moment before speaking softly.' I could help you, you know. I could help you find the best place for you, somewhere you can afford and somewhere you could enjoy living."

"That's a lot of trouble for you to go through, ahjussi." She pointed out, taking the finished meat and some of the vegetables and dropping them into the waiting pan. Smiling at the gentle hiss of the oil, she reached to add the spices she had set aside. "I don't want to burden you any more than I have already."
