She hadn't meant to get cornered like this. But her brother and his gang of friends were after her...and she'd made a mistake taking a wrong turn, finding herself engrossed in the alleys. As her eyes moved to her brother, she stepped forward, not backign down, thumping him hard on the forehead. He cursed at her, insulted her, talked about how she was way out of her place, doing stupid things, how she was beneath him thanks to her mother, her parentage. YeonHui frowned, stepping closer again and giving a sharp insult of her own about how if he wasn't such a mama's boy she wouldn't have to act like she did. Thumping him again, she fought against the men two men grabbed each of her arms. She fought against them, spitting curses

(She's a bastard child. XD)

As he heard voices, Hwanki ducked to the side, away from the sounds as he started to go a different direction. That is, until he heard the insults thrown toward the woman that seemed to be standing her ground. Unable to do anything but watch, he silently cheered her on as she stood up for herself, feeling a drop of dread sink to the pit of his stomach as he saw the much larger men take hold of her arms. A shout rang through the alley that he was startled to find was his own, shaking a little as he found himself caught between rage toward these men for attacking a woman and fear of being seen, of confrontation. Too far gone to back down, he tried to make himself seem as intimidating as possible, making his way into the fray. "What the hell are you doing."

Spluttering out explanations, the gang loosened their grip on her arms. They seemed almost afraid as one even took a step back. Her brother, however, didn't care. He told the new arrival to back off, to mind his own business, before turning his attention back to his sister. Raising a hand with the obvious intent to slap her, her eyes locked on his and she gave a small smirk. If she was goign to get hit, she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of being afraid.

His hand moved before he could register the movement, grabbing the man's wrist before his hand could connect with the girl. Gripping hard enough to feel the bones of his wrist grind together, his eyes flashed as he gave a dangerous glare. Confrontation be damned, he thought. He couldn't let her get hurt. "Go. Now. Before you're in any more trouble." He growled.

Startled by the grip, her brother turned, aiming a punch at the man's nose. Before he could connect he was idstracted by a yelp of pain from one of his men, he watched him crumple to the ground before his sister shoved a hard elbow into the second man's gut, watching him crumple away as well, the two rushed off, leaving her brother behind. Realizing he was alone, he pulld his wrist free from the other man's grip and followed after his friends, leaving the pair alone.

Finding that in the absence of anything to fight, he drew into himself, hands slipping into the pockets of his jacket as he let out a sigh. That was more than he wanted to deal with, he thought, shaking his head, caught between asking the woman if she was all right and commending her for fighting for her safety. But, meeting her eyes, he found that he couldn't speak, wondering how on earth he could start a conversation over the strange situation he had found himself in. How had he gone from looking for a way back to the road to standing in an alley after a near-catastrophic fight, attempting to find the right words to say to the woman that may not have needed saving? Would she be offended that he stepped in? Would she thank him? Should he thank her?

Seeing the man shrink into himself, almot like a turtle, seeing the way he seemed ready to take off in an instant, she turned to face him more fully. "Ah... ahjussi!" She gave a low bow, smiling brightly when she straightened again. "I'm sorry for pulling you into that mess. my brother doesn't think sometimes. You didn't get hurt, did you? He can get kind of rough." She watched him sip his hands into his pockets and frowned. "Ahjussi?" She tilted her head, stepping a little closer to him. Was he afraid? he hadn't seemed afraid a moment ago..

He shook his head at her questions, wanting to reassure her that he was all right. Though his mouth opened to respond, he was frozen in the wake of her attention, posture shrinking a little more as his hood fell just a little further over his face. Giving up, he cleared his throat instead, shaking his head once again.

"Ahjussi, he didn't hit you did he? On the head?" She took another step closer, trying to duck her head to see his face. After a moment, she clicked her tongue and straightened. "It's rude not to answer when someone talks to you..." with a soft sigh, she shook her head. "Well...thank you, anyway. I really didn't want to have to explain to my mom why my brother had another broken nose..."

Oh no. Oh shit, now she thought he was rude. Eyes widening in fear, he shook his head, holding his hands up to try to assure her that he didn't mean any harm, though all that he could manage was a weak, "N-no...that....I...." What should he say? What could he do to reassure her that he wasn't intending to be rude, or that he wasn't a complete idiot? What if she walked away and told everyone she knew that some strange hooded figure was wandering the streets preying on young women? What if he was seen as a predator or someone unsafe? He could never leave his building again, he would have to live as an even bigger hermit and pray that nothing came back to his company or his name...

She shook her head, holding up a hand as he protested in an effort to silence him, which took less time Tham she'd expected. "Don't worry about it. You don't like talking, right? Forget it. Thanks for distracting them. I'll see you around." Flashing him a wink, she started toward the beginning of the alley begot stopping and turning to look up st him. "But...how did you find me, ahjussi?"

"I....well..." He chewed on his lip, wondering if it was worth it to admit defeat after all. Images of wandering, getting mugged, taking a bus to some distant town in the country where cell service was a distant dream flowed through his mind's eye, making his blood run cold. "I was...was lost..."

She tilted her head in curiosity, watching him for a moment before a bright smile spread over her lips. He was really quiet. WAs he meaning to be so rude? Did he really hate her so much when he'd only just met her? After a moment, she hummed softly. "I could show you the way back to the street if you want, since you tried to help me, too."

Thanking whatever capricious deity was watching out for him, his eyes lit up in relief as he nodded. "I, uh...y-yes, that's....um...thank you." He managed at last, cursing himself for not being able to articulate his thoughts. She must think he was an idiot, he thought savagely, but better an idiot than a pervert. Dinner be damned, once he was able to, he would return to his tower and order whatever he needed online. If he wan't too mortified by the night's events to eat at all.

She smiled brightly, nodding and starting toward the first corner. "You don't seem like you get out much, am I wrong?" With a soft laugh, she looked up at him again and smiled once more. "Are you scared of me, ahjussi?"

"I...don't." He slipped his hands into the pockets of his sweatshirt, hood falling a little farther over his face as he moved to walk alongside her. At the question, he jumped, hesitating a moment before shaking his head.

Song him shake his head, watching the way he refused to answer again, she frowned once more. It didn't seem like he liked her much. With a sigh, she decided if he wasn't going to talk she wouldn't shut up for the both of them. Instead, she set off on a tale about a kitten she'd once rescued from the rain. The kitten was timid, shy, terrified of her..but she'd cared for it and nurtured it until it became her friend. The kitten reminded her a lot of the Man at her side. It acted like he did, she recalled with a small smile. She didn't noticed the rain starting to fall from the sky, onto their heads until it landed on her cheek and she stopped walking, looking up. It was going to start pouring any second...

He found himself listening to the story despite his worries, thoughts pulled from her opinion of him to the comparison that could be made between him and the tiny, timid creature she had saved. Feeling a few more drops land on his hood, he followed her gaze, seeing angry, dark clouds milling overhead against the orange glow of the streetlights. "It's...going to storm."

She bit her lip, wrapping her arms around herself. "And I don't have an umbrella....dammit." With a soft sigh, she moved toward one of the buildings in the alley, standing under the covered porch area before looking up at him. "If you keep walking that way about a block, take a left. The street will be right there. You can go back home now. You don't need me." With a small smile, she glanced back up at the clouds again, trying not to look as pitiful, as pathetic as she felt.
