"Right, I almost forgot you're a cynic." She chuckled, setting the bowl and utensils in front of him before taking a seat on the ground nearby. "It's simple, but thank you. I only know how to cook quick things." A loose strand of hair fell in her face, causing her to frown slightly attempt to blow it out of her eyes before taking a bite.

"Cynic?" He chuckled softly, shifting on the couch and taking the bowl and utensils with a soft mumble that wasn't quite a thanks. He pulled the bowl into his lap, leaning down to tak e a small bite. Freezing as he let the taste linger on his tongue, he hummed. "..this is delicious."

"You believe in love, but not for yourself. Sounds kind of cynical to me." She pointed out, blowing her hair out of her face again. Surprised by his reaction, she couldn't hide a bright smile, feeling a stab of pride. "It's nothing compared to what your family's restaurant serves, but thanks. I usually make this when I'm craving comfort food."

"I didn't say I don't believe in it for myself, I said I have no desire or need for it." He shrugged before giving a soft groan in pain. As he saw her smile, his heart gave a hard bump and he watched her closely. "It reminds me of my mom's cooking, honestly. It's good. Helps with the pain already.."

Warning him softly to be careful at the groan, she felt her face heat at the last, grin brightening as she turned her eyes to the bowl before her. "That's...a really big compliment, ahjussi. Thank you."

"You're welcome." He nodded, fingers moving to the bandage at his side. "...ah...I forgot..." He still wasn' wearing a shirt. While it was comfortable for him, she likely didn't wan tto see it. "...I...do you have a shirt I could take?"

"Oh, are you uncomfortable?" She hadn't even thought of how he must feel, as exposed as he was. Nodding at the question, she looked back to him. "Hyunmin left some things here after the last time he begged me to hide him from his loan sharks. They might be a little small..." Hyunmin had no muscle to his name, while this man seemed to be his polar opposite.

He shook his head. "I'm not uncomfortable, but you mentioned never taking a man's shirt off before, I assumed you might be." He shrugged before giving another soft curse. "I would rather keep my host comfortable while I'm stranded." After all, he wasn't going to be able to go anywhere for a day or two...he wondered if she knew that. But the damage the bullet had done, it would be dangerous to move him far too early.

"I'm not uncomfortable." She shook her head, taking another bite. She'd never admit that the view wasn't bad... "I mean, it helps me keep an eye on your wound in case you bleed through. At the mention of being stranded, she relaxed a little. She had hoped he wouldn't try to leave too quickly for his wound to handle. "If there's anything you want or need, just tell me, all right? You're my guest; I'll do whatever I can to make sure you're comfortable."

"You're...not uncomfortable. Helps you keep an eye on my wound? Are you sure it' snot just that you want somethign to stare at for a while? I mean, you did say I was impressive earlier." He chuckled softly, taking another bite. At the last, he looked up at her once more, frowning slightly. "I don't have to stay here if you'd rather I leave. One trip back to my home wouldn't harm me much and I'd recover quickly. I understand...being uncomfortable or angry with me, with the debt. You don't have to take care of me..." Not when he was so certain she hated his guts, even if she couldn't leave him for dead.

"Angry? What are you talking about?" She frowned, shaking her head. The thought of holding her debt against him had crossed her mind for a moment but no more than that. After the kindness he had shown her in the alley, and extending her time...it wasn't anything to hold a grudge on. "I don't blame you for trouble I got myself into. I'm used to paying for Hyunmin's mistakes." Meeting his eyes evenly, she added, "I don't mind taking care of you. Honestly, I'd feel better knowing for sure that you're healing properly. But if you'd rather go home, I won't keep you hostage."

((Sure. XD))

Living with a mobster in her house was something that Nari hadn't expected to get used to. Yongguk, she discovered, was a startlingly great houseguest. They shared a love of good music and old movies, and she made it a point to suggest both whenever it seemed he was getting bored or frustrated by his limitations while his wound was healing. She found that going to work was something she almost dreaded, partly because she felt a little bad leaving him alone for so long, and--though she'd never admit it aloud--she didn't want to stop their conversations. He was the closest thing she had to a real friend since she moved to the city. Though, she knew, eventually he would be well enough to go back to his home, his life...and she would be forgotten. The thought burned her more than she wanted to admit. After a long shift at work, she tried to keep that thought from her mind, knowing that he was moving better and gaining more energy by the day. Shouldering the door open, she shifted a bag of groceries to her other hand to drop her keys on the counter as she entered. "I'm home," She called out of courtesy, moving to the kitchen to set the bag down.

Yongguk had cleaned the house while she was away. His wound still throbbed but it was bearable, it was healing. He'd been growing closer to the woman and played off more pain than he felt to milk staying there a long as possible. After all, she would kick him out the moment she knew he was well enough...so when he heard her come in, his heart jumped excitedly and he shifted from his place on the couch to pull his glasses from his nose. Glasses he'd yet to show her, knowing she'd want to know how he got them without her help. It wasn't like he carried them around with him...

It only took a moment for her to notice that the dishes in the sink were cleaned and put away, glancing around to find her usually cluttered space far neater than she left it. "You...you cleaned?" She asked, tucking messy hair behind her ear as a bright smile pulled at her lips. "I--this is...thank you, this is incredible. I hope you didn't strain yourself more than you needed to--you didn't have to do this." She offered, trying to ignore the way her heart jumped in her chest at the sight of him. She would never admit that she had been looking forward to coming home since her shift started.

Yongguk shifted again, wincing slightly at the pull before straightening the glasses on his nose and looking up at the new arrival. He was well enough...he could go home....but could he tell her...? He didn't want to go home. He'd really come to be comfortable with her, to want to be there. He even kind of...liked her. He offered her a small smile, crossing long, slender legs before giving a soft hum. "I figured I could help out since I was aking up so much space. I hope I put things in the correct spaces."

"It looks incredible." She beamed brightly, pulling the ingredients she'd gathered and setting them on the counter before adding, "Thank you so much. You really don't have to do that, but I appreciate it a lot." A few strands of hair from her messy ponytail fell into her eyes, brushed hastily aside before she looked back to the man on her couch. "I...never knew you wore glasses..." She added, feeling a light blush cross her cheeks. They looked pretty good...

"I'd cook for you, too, but I'm not really sure how." He laughed softly, shaking his head and looking up at her again. "I appreciate you, everything you've done for me. I appreciate...all of it. And I wanted to show you how much I appreciate it, by helping you out at least a fraction of what you've done for me." At the last, he raised a brow before nodding and giving a small smile. "Only when I read."

"Would you like to learn? I'd be happy to teach you a few things," She offered, shaking her mind back into gear after her initial shock. Waving off his thanks as she felt her face heat further, she gave a soft, self-conscious chuckle. "It's...nothing, really. I'm happy to help out a friend." At the last, she felt the need to add, "Glasses are...a really good look for you. I just wasn't expecting that. Did you have them with you this whole time?" A dumb question, she thought, mentally kicking herself. How else would he have gotten them?

"I wold love to learn." He smiled, hearing her call him a friend. Standing, he looked up at her again, raising a brow. "Friend? I thought I was just the man you are indebted to." He smiled slightly, hearing the last. Here it was...the question he'd been dreading. "Um...actually...I went to my house to get them earlier today. I...I'm well enough to travel. To...to look after myself again."
