Once used for mining limestone in days long past, it's now a place frequented by Hakyeon's rougher "brothers" for interrogation purposes.

"A polite conversation would have worked just as easily. I was already terrified." She needed to stop talking, she thought firmly. Before her mouth got her into trouble again... At the last, she let out a soft sigh, hoping that she was right in her assumption. "I'm...I'm hoping that someone who was decent enough to pay for my camera would also be decent enough to know that I'm not a threat."

"A polite converstaion? When you've taken pictures of me and my men, staked out what you thought was a drug deal andwhen you've acted as if a simple request would get you out of trouble?" He shook his head. "A polite conversation wouldn't have been enough." As he heard the last, he watched her closely before offering a small smile. "I assumed you'd be no threat...but I've been wrong in the past."

"If you know my name, you know what I do. What I was trying to do. Getting the drop on a drug ring would have given me a chance to stop tailing politicians having affairs with young secretaries and start discovering real news. Trying to do something good for this city before all of this corruption gets out of control." She frowned, bristling at the thought that he might think she was trying to spy on him in particular. "You weren't supposed to be there. How was I supposed to know you would go in and kill them all before the deal could go down?"

"What you were trying to do could have gotten you killed. Clearly." He raised a brow, smirking slightly. "But I see your near-death experience has done nothing to frighten you from speaking so bluntly." After another moment, he pulled a very worn book from the shelf and handed it to the woman. "...here. Read this."

"Could have. But I wouldn't have gotten caught if you weren't there. And...It's a curse." She cleared her throat to hide the sudden surge of nerves from the comment, taking the book with a questioning look. "What's this?"

"You think you wouldn't have gotten caught? Those men were talking about cornering you as you tried to escape whtn the deal was finished when I arrived." As she took the book, he gave a soft hum and smiled softly, unaware of the kind look on his face. "A good book. It seems like your kind of story, honestly."

"They what? I was so careful, how did they..." Her frown softened into something more thoughtful, turning the book over in her hands before looking up to him and catching his smile. Oh no. That was not supposed to be attractive. Not in the least. "What is it?"

"They knew you were there. So you're lucky it was me that found you. Otherwise you would have been dead weeks ago." He raised a brow, watching her closely. After a long moment, he looked down at the book, clearing his throat and shifting a little uncomfortably. "It's...a feel-good story. I...a disney movie was made after in in AMerica several years ago. Just read it, alright?" HIs cheeks heated slightly, wondering if she'd ever read the real Beauty and the Beast before. The story of a young girl and her jealous sisters, the story of a woman meant to return back to her Beast after a week, but being even a day late left him nearly dead from heart-break.

"It's only been a week since we met. You're telling me they knew the whole time?" She couldn't hide her discomfort at the thought, looking the book over. "Beauty and the Beast...I love that movie. It was my favorite when I was growing up." The memory made her smile fondly, flipping through the pages. "I knew it had to be in a book somewhere, but I never knew who the author was. I have to check this out." Glancing back up to the man, surprised that he knew it at all, she added, "...Thanks for the recommendation."

"The whole time. They knew you were trailing them. They were waiting for the best time to catch you. When you thought you'd be safe..." He shook his head. "They were very manipulative...they were very...cruel..in their dealings with you." As he heard the last, saw the way she seemed to stroke the cover, looking at it fondly, he glanced back at the shelves, suddenly very self-conscious. "It's...an old story. This is te original. It's not quite like the movie..."

"I...had no idea." She shook her head, frowning slightly at the thought. "I...I should thank you, then. For stopping them when you did. You saved my life. Even if you picked a pretty...traumatizing way to do it." It was a poor attempt at a joke, she knew. Seeing him look away, she tilted her head. He seemed almost...shy under her attention. "I'm sure it's great. You have to like it a lot, to recommend it so highly."

He tilted his head slightly at the words, raiing a brow. After a moment, he cleared his throat. "I told you I'd pay for you to see someone about what happened..." As he heard the last, dropping his gaze again, he gave a small nod. "..I like it a lot." Though, as much as he wanted to, he wasn't sure explaining why that was would be the best option for him. He shouldn't even be talkign to this girl.

"It's just some nightmares, they'll go away in another week or two. I'm fine." She shook her head, waving off the offer. Seeming weak in front of someone like him was the last thing she wanted. Besides, this was a normal reaction to something like that...wasn't it? "You look...embarrassed, Mr. Cha. Are you ashamed of liking a fairy tale?" She couldn't hide her curiosity, though she wasn't quite sure she should be teasing him.

Tensing as he heard the last, he ignored the question, choosing instead to focus on her nightmares, on her problems. "I insist, miss. Go see someone, a doctor, anyone. I'll pay for it myself. I'll even provide transportation. It's been a week...keeping it in, not talking to someone, anyone, about what you witnessed, about your fears...it'll eat you alive." He'd had to learn that at a very early age.

"You...really seem concerned." Her tone betrayed her surprise, not expecting such a reaction from someone who had seemed so cold when they met. "I just thought this was...normal." Normal to see someone die before her very eyes, normal to scrub for an hour after the dirt and blood and whatever other bits might have fallen on her had been washed away...it was a comfort to know that the men had deserved their fate, but it hadn't made the sight any more palatable. She kept telling herself that it was what she would find in the field as a real journalist...why should it bother her so much?

"It's normal for someone like me. You, however, looked like you'd never seen death in your life, especially none so violent.." he frowned, watching her closely. "You need to talk to someone...or it'll eat you alive."

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're almost worried about me, Mr. Cha." She gave a weak smile, knowing it was likely a poor joke. Turning the book over in her hands again, she nodded. "...All right. I'll look into it."

"I'm not a bad man. I just do bad things." He looked at her for a moment before his fingers moved back to the books on the shelf. As he heard the last, he nodded. "As I said, I'll take care of the expenses. Just talk to someone. I can recommend someone as well, if that would help."

"You're...kinder than I thought you would be." She commented without thinking, brushing her bangs out of her eyes. After a moment, she let out a slow breath, nodding. "Um...yeah. Sure, I would appreciate that."

"YOu thought I'd be cruel?" It made sense, he supposed. But that didn't bother him any less. As she nodded, he pulled out his wallet, flipping through several cards and pulling three out. One was a doctor he'd seen after he'd made his first kill, one was a doctor he'd seen when he'd taken over and started runnign more of the city. The last was one of his men, not a professional doctor, but with a degree, someone who had helped him more than anyone else had. "Here. All three of them are trustworthy..and they'll help. The last...he's one of mine, so if you don't want anything to do with my men, you might not want to see him. There's a chance you may run into me at his office."
