"Deal." He took her hand, careful of any wounds she might have as his smile gaindd strength. "For the most part people come to me when they want an investor. I'm fond of the arts, if there's a company or artist that needs help, I'll help with funding, marketing, what they might need to be successful."

As he shook her hand, she gave a weak smile. His hands were large, warm...she was surprised. As her eyes moved to his, she heard him describe his work. "So...people like me." That meant she was just another business transaction. That made...much more sense for the way he'd acted. Why he was so determined to help her. She was an investment. For some reason that didn't make her feel any better. She looked up at him again, offering a small smile. "So you're wanting to make me a success for your...investing?"

"I want to give you a chance. If you want me to, of course. Getting your foot in the door of a business like that is nearly impossible unless they take you seriously. If they see my name, they'll listen to you...and then your work can speak for itself." Then, after a moment, he added, "But even if you didn't want an investor, I would have done all of this anyway. You're the first person in my life who has been kind to me with no ulterior motives."

"But how do you know I'd be a good investment for you? What if, even trying to get my foot in the door, I'm no good? What if my designs are terrible..?" She looked up at him. "You're so sure that my work can speak for itself?" Shes miled weakly, hearing the last. Her brow raised and she felt her confusion grow. How could she be the first person who was ever kind to him like that? He was such a kind soul, himself... She opened her mouth, about to speak when the nurse returned with a chart.

"Am I interrupting or are you available to talk for a moment?"

"I have a good feeling about people. I'm sure you've put a portfolio together, right? I could take a look at it if you want, see if my suspicions are correct. I think you're much better than you think." His smile widened, wondering what she must think of him before the nurse returned. For a moment he had to swallow back a sharp reply, not wanting this conversation to end so quickly, but the thought of Zoey's health was enough for his polite mask to return. "What is it, miss?"

As the nurse entered, she held up the chart. "I have her results back and they're... pretty severe. We've prescribed several pain killers and other medication to help with inflammation and insomnia." She flipped through the chart, describing the extent of her injuries, several broken ribs, a hairline fracture in her right wrist, a severally sprained ankle and several severe contusions as well. She continued by expressing concern for how she got this way, explaining that police could be contacted to asssist her. Sooyeon quickly rejected the offer, insisting that there wasno reason to involve the police before the nurse looked back at the man, silently pleading with him to convince the woman otherwise.

"Thank you, ma'am, but my friend and I have chosen to resolve the matter privately." He met the younger girl's eyes for a moment before turning back to the nurse with a smile he knew would sway anyone he pointed it toward. "We already have an investigation in the works and those responsible won't be on the streets for much longer." That much was certain. It wouldn't take much digging for his sources to figure out the information he needed. "I can give you the information for my pharmacy, I'll fill the prescriptions as soon as they're ready."

Nodding at his instruction, she took the information before advising them that they were free to go and leaving them alone again. Sooyeon's gaze never left the ground, hating that this man knew the extent of her injuries, hating that he knew that it wasn't an accident that made her this way... She bit her lip, wincing at the pain it brought and she shook her head. "I should...get home." He would pressure her to go to the police. They always did. He'd said those responsible wouldn't be on the streets. But he couldn't figure out who did this to her. He'd have no clue even how to start. He'd only just come to Korea. "I can take you home, too..since I was your ride here. I..I need to ge to work on that scarf for you."

"We can stop by the pharmacy, right? You'll need something for the pain." He couldn't hide his concern, though he made no mention of the police or of seeking retribution for the attack. She didn't want trouble, and he didn't trust the authorities with a damned thing. He could finish this on his own.

"We can stop by the pharmacy. You need your medication." She nodded, looking back up at him again. He wasn't mentioning the attack, he wasn't mentioning police..that was....comforting. But why not..? As she stood on shaky feet, she smiled weakly. "You don't have to worry about me, ahjussi. I'm not...so weak I can't handle this."

"I don't think you're weak at all." He shook his head quickly, taking his cane in hsnd and frowning slightly at the ill-balanced weight. "I just want to make sure that you heal quickly."

"I'll heal just fine, you don't have to worry about me." With a small smile, she shook her head again, looking up to see his frown. She cleared her throat. "Um...is something wrong?"

"I'll worry less when I know you're in full health." His smile returned, letting out a self-conscious chuckle at the last. "Nothing's wrong, just...this cane is badly balanced. It's a pain sometimes."

Giving a soft hum at his words, she nodded. After amoment, she offered a small smile. "I want to see you tomorrow. I mean...for longer than just showing you a couple of designs and givng you your scarf. Would you...I mean...do you have a couple of hours you can set aside for me? I..have something I want to work on."

"Absolutely." He brightened at the thought, glad for a chance to speak to her more. "I have nothing at all planned tomorrow. What did you have in mind?"

"Just...some ideas. I have some images in mind that I think would look good on you, but I need to get a better feel for you personality to decide if it's something even...feasible. Does that..make sense?" she didn't design simply by appearance...but by what would fit someone's personality, as well. Most designers were focused on making money, she was more concerned with making clothes her customers would actually enjoy and get a lot of use out of. "I just..want to talk to you a bit more before I start designing too much."

"It makes perfect sense." He found that the way she worked was more fascinating than he expected. He never met a designer that was so adamant about finding the perfect fit for their client...most assumed that they would know best. "That sounds like a good plan. Where should I meet you?"

"How about at my booth? We can decide where to go from there." She smiled weakly, standing to move toward the door slowly. She glanced back at him. "Come on. Let's get to the pharmacist so you can get your medicine. I'm sure your leg feels horrible."

"It's only a little fracture." He waved her off with a smile, Taking care not to show so obviously that he was leaning a little more heavily on his cane than he had earlier in the afternoon. "it's not the first...I hate the feeling of wearing a brace."

"Don't get a brace, then. But you need your medicine for the pain." She shook her head, her words a little more stern, showing she wouldn't take no for an answer. "Come on." Gesturing to the door, she smiled back at him. "The sooner we get your medicine, the sooner I can take you home and the sooner we can start working tomorrow. Isn't that what you're looking forward to?"
