"Where the hell am I?" Her voice was soft, clearly exhausted and she wasn't pulling away from him, accepting his comfort for now...while she was still a little insane. She could blame it on the drugs later....

"I tried to take you to your place, but you were too far gone. I didn't want any of that bastard's friends to show up, so I took you to my place until the heat dies down. Don't worry, I haven't been in here until now."

"Too far gone?" To tell him her address, most likely, her mind finished. She looked up at him when she felt she'd gained control of herself, unaware of a few tears still slipping down her cheeks. "What bastard? What...what happened?"

"The man you got pissed at me for fighting tried to take advantage of you while you were in that alley. I'm...honestly not sure if he's still alive." Even the memory made his chest twist in anger, hoping that the man had ended up with lasting damage at the very least. "But I didn't know if his friends would come back after they ran off...so I took you to the safest place I could."

"Not sure if he's alive? Why wouldn't he be alive...?" Her eyes moved to the man's, fingers still curled into his shirt absently as she still trembled... Damn...the drugs hadn't helped at all. "So you brought me to your house..because I'm supposed to be safe here? Wonderboy, I don't even know you.'

"His face had a very intense meeting with a brick wall." He admitted, ruffling his hair sheepishly. This was not how he expected this conversation to go. "I, uh...have a problem with men like that. A big one. But you're safe, that's what matters." He shook his head at the last, voice gaining a little strength. "I don't know you either, but I know that if his friends came back, they would have finished the job or worse when they saw what I did."

"So...you're telling me that not only did you make me lose my paycheck for this week...but I've likely lost my best customer for the rest of my life?" She raised a brow, watching him closely. What mattered was that she was able to live...and if she'd lost this customer, she had no way to get her rent..she'd be on the street and having to do much worse than just her drug addiction. "So you killed him to keep a stranger safe?"

"That best customer nearly raped you while you were riding a bad high in the middle of the alley. Does that mean nothing to you?" He snapped without thinking, meeting her eyes in a mixture of frustration and incredulity. "If the drugs didn't kill you, he might have. So yes, I killed him to keep a stranger safe."

Eyes widening at the words, at the temper, she watched him closely. Her heart was beating too fast, too hard. It hurt. He seemed really upset that she wasn't concerned. After a long moment, she spoke softly. "What it means is one bad night would have let me keep the money he gives and my home. Without him there to pay my bills, I"ll be on the street. In a week I'll be having to do much worse than bartending and dealing with a few unruly customers just to keep myself fed, not to mention the fact that I may freeze to death in a month because of the temperature drop." She looked down. It wouldn't have been the first time she'd have been raped. "So no...it doesn't mean nothing. But you should have left him alone. Because one bad night...is better than the rest of my life back where I was."

"Why not change jobs? Find something that won't degrade you like this." He asked, ruffling his hair once again to give his hands something to do. "Hell, I'll pay you. Take you on as a housekeeper or an assistant or something. That'd keep you off the streets, right?"

"You think someone like me can change jobs? There's not much I can do." She shook her head, shifting a little, feelng a panic start to settle in her mind. What was she going to do? If she oculdn't afford rent, she couldn't afford the drugs. If she couldn't afford the drugs, the nightmares would get worse...if the nightmares got worse, she'd try to kill herself...again. As those thoughts raced through her mind, she heard the last. Her eyes moved to his in shock and her brow furrowed after a moment. "You have your own rent to pay. You think you can support my bills on your own, too? Besides..you know what I am, what I do. You really want to hire soeone like that to assist you in any way?" He wouldn't be able to pay her rent as well as his own. He didn't seem the rich type...

"I pay rent six months at a time. I'll be fine." he shook his head with a small smile. "I'm better off than I look. And believe me, you wouldn't be the worst person I gave a job to. What do you want to do? Clean? Be a bookkeeper? I think I know a few desk jobs I could swing for you, I'd just have to get the okay from Himchan-hyung..." The last was a mumbled afterthought, unaware that he had spoken aloud.

"You really want to offer me a job when you don't even know what kind of skills I have? You really think Im' capable of--" cutting off as she heard the last, the name rang over and over in her head. "Himch-..." Her blood froze, her heart stopped, her stomach twistedpainfully and for a moment, she felt sick. Hands trembling slightly as she finally released his shirt, she shifted al ittle to put some distance between them. This man worked for Himchan? Why did this always happen to her? Why did she always find the ones that belonged to Kim Himchan? "....Himchan..hyung?" He'd called him brother...which meant they were close. She was going to be sick. "I...I need to go." She stood too quickly, feeling her head spin immediately and she knew she'd collapse if she didn't move slowly...but she couldn't stay there.

"Hold it, your'e not in any state to go anywhere." He caught her arms in a grip that was gentle enough that she could break it if she had the strength, wanting to support her rather than detain. "Yeah, I get it. You don't want to get wrapped up in the mob. You don't even have to work directly for me if you don't want to, but I want to make this right. I keep fucking up your night trying to help, and I don't want to see you on the street. Relax, okay? I'm not so bad."

AS his hands gripped her, images of the past, the pain, the touches those men had given her rushed back into her mind and she began to shake hard. They were still around, she saw them sometimes...and they worked for that man. For Kim Himchan. What if this man wasn't any better? He saved her from one bad man...just so he could use her himself? She felt her stomach twist again. The hands on her skin, between her legs, pushing her arms down, forcing her face into the ground so she couldn't scream...she closed her eyes to block it out but that only brought he memories more clearly into her mind. Her shaking worsened. "Not...not so bad?" He really expected her to believe that. "Let...let go of me. I don't need your help." If he helped her, he'd want something in return....

"You're shaking..." he frowned, releasing her arms at her demand and wondering just what hell she had been living through. "Please, hear me out, okay? You don't have to agree tonight. Let me call a taxi to take you home, at least, if you want to leave that badly. You still need to rest..." He frowned, concern clear on his face as he tried to figure out how to keep her from losing what little it seemed she had.

As he released her, she sank back onto the bed, shifting to the farthest spot she could away from him and pulling her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs as she buried her face as she had as a child. Her breath was a little too quick as she tried to calm herself. He worked for Himchan. He was friends with the men that did this to her, that hurt her. He worked with them, he ate with them, he called them brother... He told her he'd call a taxi, but she didn't believe him. He wouldn't let her leave willingly...she'd barely managed to escape last time. Tears burned her eyes as she forced herself to breathe. "S-..stay away from me." Her voice was soft, small, trembling. The sound a child would make.

Something happened. Something big. Something bad. He sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed, wanting to do something to help but knowing that anything he could do would just make it worse. "I'm not like them." He said helplessly, knowing that anything he could say would probably not help. "Whoever they are, whatever they did...I just want to help." Deciding that he was likely doing more harm than good, he sighed. "What taxi service do you like?" He asked at last. Letting her choose might take away the fear that he was just setting her up. Or so he hoped. Fuck, he hated feeling so small...

"How can you say...you're not like them? You're one of them." Her voice broke slightly as she shuddered again. As she heard the last, the panic set in again. How could she trust that he'd really bring a taxi? How could she trust him at all? He was one of Himchan's men...He played with people just like the others did. "I don't...don't t-take taxis..." She walked everywhere...

"I work for myself. It's just convenient that I have someone looking out for me. I don't go out of my way to hurt people that don't hurt me first." He shook his head with a sigh, biting his lip. "Pick a service you know, then. Any one. That way you know that I'm calling someone legitimate. If I offer to drive you someplace you won't trust me, right? I want you to feel safe."
