(THESE BITCHES ARE GOING TO KILL ME, MAN))

"I mean, I can't imagine anyone not liking your looks." She hadn't realized the words were spoken aloud, too focused on the menu in front of her. Her cheeks flushed softly and she continued to read, speaking absently, unaware of anything she was really saying. "You seem picky with your women. Is there really no one you're interested in? Is your mother's tastes really so bad?"

((XDDDDD))

"Really? You mean that?" He couldn't keep his surprise from his face, tilting his head as he studied her intently. At the last, he gave a wry chuckle. "Mother means well, but her tastes run more toward women from good families that she thinks will mean that no one will have to live uncomfortably. But the women she chooses are bland, vapid vultures that only want the man with the fattest wallet. I don't want to marry a woman that only wants a payday."

"i mean what?" She looked up, curiosity in her eyes, clearly unaware that she'd said anything at all. Meeting his gaze, her cheeks flushed softly and she offered a weak smile. "It sounds like your mother is trying to find someone that will be sure her son is well taken care of with money and power. At least you have someone to look after you. Be grateful. Not everyone does."

"You said that you didn't think anyone could dislike my looks." He pointed out with a smile. "I am grateful for her attention...but I'd like to be able to choose my own relationships based on how I feel about them...not how well off our family will be." Her phrasing made him frown slightly, tilting his head. "What's your family like?"

"did i...? I must have been thinking out loud again..." Flushing softly, she returned her gaze to the menu, refusing to look at him in her embarrassment. "Still... Be thankful she cares. But, pardon me for saying, you don't seem the relationship type..." As she heard the last, eyes still low, she gave a small shrug. "What family?"

"I would be, if I found the right person." He shrugged lightly, realizing the true meaning behind her commentary. "I...wow. I'm sorry, that was...pretty insensitive, wasn't it..." He mumbled at last.

"dont worry about it." She shrugged again, fingers moving over the menu. "I disowned them, they disownes me. Its not exactly dinner conversation and, as far as I'm concerned, i have no family."

"I'm sorry for bringing it up." He repeated with a soft sigh, deciding that it would be tactful to avoid complaining about his meddlesome mother and her affairs in his love life. "What looks good to you?" He asked next, attempting to bring the subject back into comfortable territory.

Smiling, she shook her head. "Don't be sorry. It doesn't bother me. Like I said, it' s just not...dinner conversation." Looking up at him, she offered another smile and raised a brow. At the last, she glanced down at her menu again. "I have...no idea. Everything looks amazing. What tastes good?

Pointing out a few different dishes that he liked the best, he tensed a little as the younger girl moved toward their table, only to be gently pushed out of the way by her mother. He greeted her as "eomma" as she approached, thanking whatever powers were listening that he didn't have to deal with two needy women instead of the much more pleasant one seated before him. Ordering water, he looked to his date for her drink.

She ordered water as well, flushing softly as she heard the woman comment on how pretty his date was this time. She looked up at the woman and gave a nervous laugh. "Ma'am, I'm not his date, we're just...friends that ran into each other again, that's all." He didn't look at this as a date. She shouldn't either. Flushing darker, she glanced at the man before looking back down at her menu.

"But I'm having more fun now than I've had on any date I've had before." he pointed out, smiling as the woman laid a hand on each of their arms before moving to the kitchen once again.

As she felt hte warm touch, her gaze moved to the woman again, cheeks flushing softly. She glanced at the man across form her with a soft laugh. "She seems...really kind." At his words, she flushed a little darker. "Maybe...sometime we'll have to see how a real date goes." What the hell was she even saying?

"She is. And if she had her way, I'd weigh three hundred pounds." He shook his head with a laugh, before raising an eyebrow at her comment. "A...real date? You'd want to spend that kind of time with me?"

"I can't imagine you weighing that much. You're very..toned now." She laughed, unaware that she was expressing that she'd been checking him out a few times. As she heard the last, her cheeks flushed and she kept her eyes low. "It's...not that. I just... It was a joke. I was just thinking out loud, that's all. Sorry. Not a date. Don't freak out on me, okay?"

"Thank you. I'm...vain enough to stay that way." He chuckled at the last, shaking his head. "I'm not freaking out. Honestly I wouldn't be opposed to the idea...but if it was a joke, why are you blushing?"

As she heard the last, the question, her cheeks burned darker and she shook her head. "I didn't realize I was. It was just...I get flustered easily, over the silliest things. Don't worry, I wasn't serious at all." She wasn't the date-worthy type, anyway. "I was just talking, not thinking."

"If you asked, I would say yes." he commented lightly, tone carefully casual as he looked over the menu he had memorized years before. He was sure she would shoot him down in record time.

She flushed, unable to keep from lookingup at him in obvious shock before she gave a weak smile. "I guess...it's a good thing I don't ask. Ever." Because if he said yes, then she wouldn't know how to act around him at all. Besides...she wasn't the kind of woman his mother would ever approve of. "I'm awkward enough as is."

"And if I did?" She wasn't giving him a clear answer as to whether or not she would even want to go on a proper date with him, he thought, wondering if he was the only one with an interest in continuing whatever it was that was happening between them. Or if he was creating a situation where nothing happened to be.
