A locally-run coffee shop frequented by the group's younger members. Seems to do well despite not having much foot traffic.

"She'll pay. No matter what I have to do, she'll pay." He shook his head with a frown, moving his free hand to hold hers between them. At the last, his expression softened into a smile, though the worry remained. The others were quick (and quite loud) to reassure her that she was family, that they'd always be there to help her, backed by Taekwoon's own soft promise never to let her hurt like that again.

Hyuk suggested after a moment that they all take a breather, go out and enjoy themselves at a bar to relax. The others weren't far behind, wanting to do anything to clear the air and help put the incident to rest at last. The fair-haired man found himself a little reluctant to go anyplace loud and boisterous after losing his temper as he did, only wanting to make sure the woman at his side really was all right.

As Hyuk suggested the bar, she found she jst didn't have the energy for a large and loud outing, especially if fans of the group happened to find them as they often did nowadays. Shaking her head and telling them gently that they should go on ahead and that she'd just go home and rest, that she had a lot to think about and would prefer a quiet place this time, being sure to reassure them mulitple times until they agreed to go on without her, she pulled her hand free from the older man's, offering a weak smile and telling him he should go with them, he should enjoy himself while he had the free time, before she turned back to the counter and started clearing up the brushes. When she was aone, she could let go...she could show how she really felt, she could break down and cry if she wanted...but she couldn't do hat in front of her friends. They'd never seen her cry before and she was determined to make sure that didn't change now.

Shooing the others away quietly, Taekwoon muttered softly that he would stay and make sure she was all right. Hakyeon gave him a knowing look, making sure the boys vacated quickly before following after with a smile.

When they were gone, he quietly made his way across the room, gently placing a hand on her shoulder. "It...must be hard. Reliving all of that. You don't...you don't have to keep pretending to smile. To keep pretending that you're all right."

She was about to insist that he go, too. At least, until she felt his hand. Freezing in her work, she tensed, forcing back her tears once again. She'd never broken down in front of him in the three years she'd known him... But feelimg his hand now, hearing his words, she trembled. Keeping her head bowed low, she found she couldn't speak at all. When her phone began to ring on the cabinet next to them, she glanced at it, tensing further when the man that had just caused all the commotion showed up in the caller ID. He was calling to apologize, now that he'd sobered up, she was sure... Fingers trembling, she started to reach for the phone. She should answer it, she should forgive him... Shouldn't she? They'd been together for two years now...

Reaching before he could stop himself, he declined the call, pushing the phone a little further away. "Don't let him control you, Naeun. You are so much more...you deserve so much more. You need to be happy, and he's not going to do anything but hurt you."

When Taekwoon reached for her phone, she gave a soft half-hearted protest. As he pushed the phone away, she started to reach for it before she heard his soft words. Don't let him control her? That was all she really knew of that relationship..wasn't it...? "So...I should let you control me instead? Deciding if I should or shouldn't take the call...?" She wasn't angry, it was a soft question, an honest question. She was lost...she had no idea what to do and, as she spoke, her voice broke. She kept her head ducked low to avoid his gaze, not wanting him tto see the tears on the edge of spilling. She hadn't cried in front of him and she didn't intend to now. "Why didn't you go with the others? I told you all that I'm fine. I just want to rest and have a little quiet time." There he was complimenting her again. Didn't he know by now the compliments made her uncomfortable? That she didn't believe them...?

(I'm super excited for them to start working together...so that he can realize it's not just a little crush he has and it's not just a friendship, but he's actually madly in love with her. XD)

With a deep sigh, knowing that things ran deeper than the phone call, he pulled her into his arms once again. His grip on her was gentle enough that she could break free, but strong enough that his protective attitude was obvious. "Cry if you need to cry." He mumbled into her hair, hand resting on her back. "Don't hold anything back around me if you don't want to. You'll get no judgement, no pain...I'll listen. I'll be whatever you need."

As she felt him pull her close, her breath cught once again. He'd never been so touchy...not until the last few months when he seemed to hug her at every opportunity he got. He held her hand, he brushed her arm, pushed her hair back. In her mind, she told herself it was all because he saw her as a little sister...bt if he saw her as a sister, shouldn't her heart not race when he touched her? Feeling his hand at her back, hearing the soft voice, she buried her face in his chest, taking a deep, calming breath to keep from crying. "...I...never said I needed to cry, Taekwoon..."

"You don't need to say it." He shook his head, giving her a gentle squeeze. "If you need to, then just let go. I'm not going anywhere. I promise." His hand shifted to the back of her head, brushing over her hair gently in an attempt to help comfort her.

"If you did go somehwere, maybe then I'd feel comfortable lettng go. I've never...never shown you this side of me before." She shook her head, relaxing as she felt his hand in her hair. After a moment, se took a shaky breath. "..why dd you stay? I...I asked you to go."

"I'm happy to see any side of you." He mumbled softly, shaking his head at the question. "I...I know that it's not as effective when you let out your emotions to an empty room. You feel drained, empty...but there's no one there to tell you that what you're feeling is only temporary. That eventually everything has to be better than what it is now. I've spent too much time crying and screaming at empty walls. I just...wanted to give you a chance to do something different."

As she heardt he last, heard him admit that he cried, that he screamed, she felt her body relax in his touch. He'd never been so open wit her, not about his emotions, not about that... So hearing that maybe he'd felt how she felt now was..comforting. Before she could stop herself, she felt her tears start to fall, silently at first. It didn't take long, however, for her to be shaking, sobbing against his chest, clutching at his shirt, trembling in his arms.

Mumbling soft reassurances into her ear, he held her as she cried, running his fingers through her hair. He wondered just how long she had been bottling up every negative emotion, from this scandal to the man she had dated, all the way back to the orphanage that seemed to haunt her past. He hoped to put all of it to rest, to push it from her mind as much as he could. From now on, he thought, he would work tirelessly to make sure she only had good memories in their place.

It felt like hours, she had no clue how long they stood there, how long he held her... but when the tears finally stopped, she felt drained. She was exhausted, she didn't even hear her phone ringing again, Jinki once again trying to call her. Instead, she leaned against her friend, thinking about what she'd do now. She'd ruined their chances of a collaboration with a big-name idol...her and Jinki were likely through after this...and she had no where to go. She'd been living with Jinki for a few months now... After a long moment,s he spoke, voice soft, almost empty. "...I'm tired."

"What can I do?" He asked, voice hardly above a whisper as his hand continued its soothing movement through her hair. He ignored the phone that rang again--that been ringing a few times since he pulled her into his arms. If he could get away with throwing the damned device out of the window he would have. "What do you need?"

"I need...rest. I need someting to eat, I need something warm...and I need that bastard to stop calling me." Her voice broke, startled that she'd used such an insult against the man, surprised that she was feeling anger. She'd never been angry at the man before..."I...shouldn't have said that."

"Don't be sorry for telling the truth." He shook his head, reaching to end the call once again before turning her phone off completely, passing it to her with a smile. "Come with me. You can spend some time at my place, I'll order food, you can rest there as long as you need. It's a quiet neighborhood and he has no clue where it is."

"Don't be sorry?" She shook her head, giving a weak laugh. "I shouldn't say things like that. I"m not the kind of person that goes around insulting people..." As she looked up at him, she met his gaze and felt her fears and her worries start to fade. Tears streaked her cheeks, but she no longer cried. It was a moment before she gave a weak smile. "I think...I need a drink, too." As he told her to go with him, she nodded, slipping her phone into her pocket before she heard him say she could stay with him. freezing for a moment, she looked up at him curiously. "..I've...never been to your house, Taekwoon. You're sure it's okay for me to go there?"

"You're telling the truth." He insisted softly, brushing the tears away from her cheeks with a gentle touch. "I can fix that, too." He added with a small smile. "I wouldn't invite you over if it wasn't, I promise."

(OKay...him saying I can fix that makes me think of kissing kate...Holes, man. XD)

As she felt his fingers on her cheeks, she found herself leaning into the touch, accepting the kind gestures with a weak smile. Hearing him say he could fix her drinking issue as well, she nodded, looking up at him. She was exhausted, too exhausted to walk... "..Just...I need a minute to rest or I may collapse on you. I haven't...let go like that in years."
