Common Grounds
NoWealthNoRuin
A locally-run coffee shop frequented by the group's younger members. Seems to do well despite not having much foot traffic.

Thinking his question over, she couldn't hide a smile as she nodded. "I...really am. Is that weird? I've got no guarantee, but it's something new to try."

"it's something new. There's no reason to not be excited." He laughed, taking a drink. "When would you like to come to the office?"

Trying not to listen as her aunt offered to let her go on her break to run her errands right then, she gave a nervous laugh of her own. "Um...anytime. All I have to do is pick up an application, right?"

He shook his head. "No. I mean, the person tht does the hiring won't even be there until tomorrow." And he had to inform them that the position was being opened, anyway... He grinned. "Why not come by around eleven tomorrow?"

"Eleven tomorrow. That sounds great." She nodded, finding his smile contagious. "And then I get to try my luck, I guess."

Nodding as well, he finished his second glass before checking his watch. "And I should really be getting back. Deadlines, and all." With a grin, he looked at the girl. "Don't be nervous. You'll do great."

"Don't be nervous? I've never tried anything like this before." She shook her head with another laugh. At the last, she stood, surprised that he was so willing to talk so much with a perfect stranger. "Thank you, Shinhyuk-ssi. And good luck on your deadlines."

With a grin, he gave her an over-exaggerated bow before straightening and looking up at her again. "I'll see you tomorrow. Have a good evening." As he turned his attention to the owner, he waved, telling the woman to enjoy the rest of her day and to not stop being sexy before he moved to the door.

Much to Eunjae's surprise, she had been hired on the spot. A quick application, an even quicker interview, and the next day she was showing up to the office in her nicest blouse and skirt, ushered quickly to a high floor and told that she would be serving as an assistant to the different work teams as needed. Any copies run, messages sent, coffee made, she was to do in order to make sure that the others left their desks as little as possible as deadlines loomed overhead. As she was introduced to the team she would be helping, she bowed and gave a soft greeting, already hearing the murmur and clacking of seven or eight computers and the people behind them.

She'd been hired, Shinhyuk heard. She was working as an assistant to every team. That certainly hadn't been what he expected. But her pay was good, especially since this company was so well-off. It would get her foot in th door, which is why he'd suggested it in the first place. As he worked on the interview he'd conducted the day before, he sent a message to her boss, requesting he have some assistance as he couldn't leave and their team was in desperate need of coffee. His team, after all, was the team that took priority to everyone else.

The first request that was made of her was coffee, and she couldn't hide a smile as she went through the familiar motions of grinding and brewing a batch. She would have to find a way to get in touch with Shinhyuk, she thought absently, if she wanted to tease him about being a glorified barista again. Surely, even in a building this size, she could find a way to figure out where his team happened to be. As she delivered cups to each desk, she didn't notice passing by the very man she was thinking of, apologizing for interrupting as she set the cup on his desk.

As he continued to type away, aware of the girl by his side, he shifted the glasses perched on his nose. He smirked as she passed by without so much as a hello. "Have you already forgotten the little people now that you've got the big glamorous job, Ms. Eunjae?"

Jumping at the familiar voice, she turned back to him, another cup still in her free hand. "Sh-Shinhyuk-ssi?" She blurted without thinking, noting in the back of her mind that glasses were a very flattering look on him. Shaking her head quickly, she recovered from her shock. "I'm...I'm sorry, I didn't notice. I didn't expect to see you again so soon."

PUshing the glasses fro the tip of his nose back to where they were supposed to sit. He looked up at her, leaning ack in his chair to stretch his legs out with a small grin. "no? You didn't think I'd call you after figuring out you got the job? We should celebrate."

"Call me? You never had my number." She pointed out, shaking her head with a smile. "How would you celebrate? I meant to find you to thank you for giving me a much more interesting place to make coffee." Her voice betrayed her teasing.

"I mean call you toc ome help our team. I made the request to send you down here, you know." He laughed, feeling his cheeks heat a little at the teasing. He grinned. "At least your foot is in the door somewhere you can make a name for yourself.' With a wider grin, he gestured to his team. "We take newbies out for drinks and dinner. Are you interested?"

"You...you asked for me? You knew that I got the job before I got here?" She asked, surprise clear on her face. Another team member passed by and asked for the cup of coffee she held, taking it with a thanks as she offered him a polite smile. Turning back to the man before her, she thought the offer over. "Sounds great." She said at last, brightening a little at the thought. "I didn't think you'd consider me a newbie, all things considered."

Nodding, he smiled. "I told you, you seemed perfect for it. I had no doubt you'd get the job." At the last, he raised a brow. "Why wouldn't we? You're new to the company, aren't you?"
