A locally-run coffee shop frequented by the group's younger members. Seems to do well despite not having much foot traffic.

"But does he need the support? All the public sees is criminals dying. People that got out of jail on a technicality, or that would plead down to a minimal sentence to save their own skins. With or without his efforts, there will always be people that support him because they don't care what he does as long as these people get what they feel they deserve." He was fascinated by her mindset and how easily she was able to debate this with a stranger. It seemed she had done a lot of thinking. At the buzz, he raised an eyebrow. "Do you need to get that?"

"Everyone needs support, most of all people with a god-complex." She laughed softly, taking a drink as her eyes moved to the door as a man around her age entered, shot her a wink and moved to the counter. She raised a brow before shaking her head and returning her gaze to the man in front of her. "But what about the people that were innocent that he still killed? Do you think people will support him when they find out about those people?" As her phone buzzed again, she glanced down at it for a moment before shaking her head. "No. It doesn't matter."

Casting a disapproving look to the stranger before returning his attention to the fascinating woman before him, he gave a thoughtful hum. "Kira's killed innocents?" That was news to him. Was someone else working with another Death Note? He had no doubt in his mind that no innocent had died by his hand. "I didn't hear anything about that on the news."

She didn't miss the look the man gave, wondering if maybe he knew the newcomer. He seemed so...annoyed. As she heard the question, she nodded. "He's killed at least one that I know of. I'm sure there were others that were innocent or framed. I mean, thinking statistically at least a few would have to be." She frowned, looking at the man again. "Are you a supporter, then?"

"I don't know what to believe. Mostly I'm trying to keep out of the debates--people can get pretty heated." He shook his head with a laugh. "I still can't believe that any one person can do something like this...I don't really believe in something I can't see."

She shook her head. "You don't believe in anything, do you?" She laughed softly, taking another drink. Her phone buzzed again. She tensed, pulling the phone into her hand and checking the caller. As her face paled, she tucked the phone away again and she glanced toward the window. "So...are you in college, then, ahjussi?"

"I believe in people. In good and evil and trying to bring a better balance to the world." He shrugged lightly. At the last, he nodded, raising an eyebrow at the sight of her putting her phone away. "I am. I haven't decided if I want to be a lawyer or if I want to go into the police, like my father. Something to make a difference in the world, you know? Something without having to use some magic heart attacks." He added with a soft chuckle.

(We should totally have a girl that hangs all over him. XDD)

"Lawyers are good at one thing, making sure someone gets screwed over. Sure, the money is great...but the job itself is...terrible. I vote police, I bet you'd look really good in taht unifo-" she cut off, cheeks burning as she realized what she'd been about to say. She really needed to work on that tact thing...dammit. "ah...I imagine you'd do well, taht's all."

((He will be so displeased. XDD))

"That I'd...look good in the uniform?" He finished for her, raising an eyebrow. Unable to hide a smile, he tilted his head as he looked at her. "Are you saying I'm attractive, miss?" That was new. "I was thinking that I would be better suited for police work. Maybe a detective...I think I'd be better on an investigation than I would be as a normal officer."

"I didn't say that." Her voice was too quick, cheeks burning as she looked down into her cup. No. Not that he was attractive. He wasn't attractive. Not at all. she cleared her throat. "No. I don't think you're attractive, ahjussi. I think you're...conceited a bit, honestly." She shrugged, taking a drink and forcing the blush to fade after a few more moments. "A detective? you like to investigate?"

"You're blushing, miss. Are you so sure you're telling me the truth?" He teased once again, laughing softly before he heard the last. "I do. My dad was a detective; most of my bedtime stories were cases he had helped solve. I guess I just...always knew I wanted to do something like that. And people are so easy to read--their mannerisms, their words, every little bit of behavior tells exactly what's on their mind."

"I"m sure." Her voice was too fast, cheeks burning. She laughed softly, shaking her head as she looked down into her cup. As she heard the words, the description of his dad, she raised a brow. "See...the more I talk to you, the more I imagine you to be just like Kira...'

"Someone like Kira, like you said, is going about everything all wrong. Due process, prison sentences, trying to make them realize what they did was wrong and has consequences...isn't that the way life should be?" He shook his head, brushing pale hair behind his ear. "Just killing them...takes away the lesson they should learn."

"Exactly. Why kill them when its so much more fun to just make them suffer?" The words were out before she could stop herself. Her eyes widened slightly as shw realized her crazy was showing and she ducked her head. "I mean...life in prison is better than a quick end." She shook her head. "I just think... Kira was wronged. By a criminal at some point. He's angry, he's looking for revenge. Maybe even for a specific criminal.

"Don't worry so much, I agree completely." HE shook his head with a soft laugh. At the last, he raised an eyebrow. "So...you think this is something more than just some crazy person playing with a new power? Something...personal?"

"I think it's personal...and I think the power got to his head." She looked up at him, smiling slightly. "Don't you think so, too? I mean, it makes sense." He agreed with her crazy, it seemed. That was encouraging...

"Maybe so. But wouldn't that make him some convoluted Batman?" He asked, taking another drink from his cup. "Avenging something done to him, but in all the wrong ways?"

"As long as he doesn't have throat cancer, I can go for it." She laughed softly, finishing her tea. When she looked down at the now-empty cup, she frowned. That meant she was out of time. She had to leave. Damn.

The comment took him off-guard, a soft laugh making its way past his defenses. "Maybe that's why he stays hidden. He's worried that everyone will know his bad attempts at voice-changing will give him away." Seeing her expression change, he raised an eyebrow. "Are you all right?"

"I'm sure that's exactly the reason." She gave a soft laugh. As he asked if she was alright, she looked up at him again. "Yeah, I'm alright. I just have to be going, I"m out of tea.' She laughed softly again, climbing to her feet.
