A locally-run coffee shop frequented by the group's younger members. Seems to do well despite not having much foot traffic.

Jung Taekwoon was a good person. He was sure of it. He had been raised in a city of filth and drugs and blood and crime and he was determined to make it right. He was top of his class in high school and college, he had been promised a place in Seoul's police department simply for the asking, should he choose the path, and he had few problems making friends or pleasant acquaintances with anyone he met. So when the power to choose who lived and who died literally fell out of the sky one day, he was glad that he was the one fated to pick it up. The notebook worked, much to his surprise, and soon the criminal lives in Seoul were fearful for their lives. He was slowly working from the bottom up, hoping that the kingpins would relinquish their hold and let the city take itself over again. Killers, rapists, drug mules, all had dropped like flies in the first few weeks of his ownership of the Death Note. He was getting better, testing the waters, testing what the notebook could do. No one knew who was pulling the strings on this operation, but a few were calling him a demon...or even a god. He almost liked the sound of that. He was careful not to deviate from his normal schedule, choosing to work on a thesis for one of his classes in one of his favorite coffee shops, a latte at his elbow. Even as he typed, he was aware of the news website pulled open in another tab, watching for any new headlines that would give him a new direction to go.

(I'm stealing I miss you name. XD)

Lee Sunmin was exhausted. She'd been working nights at the cafe and gone to school during the day. Things were hectic and stressful and she wasn't quite sure how she was going to get her rent this month just yet as she'd lost half her paycheck thanks to one customer that had been too rude, one she'd mouthed off to and received disciplinary action because of it. As she prepared for her day, knowing she'd be late to her class anyway, she made her way into the small coffee shop, looking more like a zombie than anything as she stepped up to the counter to order. When it came time to pay, she reached into her pocket, realizing she only had a little change. With a soft sigh, she instructed them to remove her order and just give her a glass of water... This was going to be a long day...

He had been faintly aware of someone passing him as he typed, pausing a moment as he heard her ask to cancel the order. Glancing up, he saw a girl that looked nothing short of exhausted--someone that needed a cup of coffee more than anyone in Seoul. He was still feeling pretty good about the day, wrapped up in thoughts of cleaning the city from the bottom up, and decided one more good deed would brighten the world just a little bit more. Standing, he motioned for the barista's attention, asking softly for them to make the order anyway and passing the cashier his card. "You look like you need the caffeine, if you don't mind my saying." He added with a faint smile.

"Oh, no. Water really is f--" she cut off, watching the exchange before looking up at him. For a moment, her breath caught and she found herself face to face with the most beatuiful man she'd ever met. Her brow furrowed after a moment and she ducked her head, giving a small bow, thanking him softly, voice hardly over a whisper, almost as if she was afraid to speak too loudly. As she heard the last, she gave a weak laugh. "The caffeine will..definitely help, yes."

"Long night?" He asked before he could stop himself, seeing the exhaustion in her eyes. "I know finals are coming up fast." But this seemed to be something deeper, down to the bones. Something he found much more familiar than he would like to admit.

"Long few years." She laughed weakly, shaking her head. As the barista called her name, she glanced up, offering the woman a small smile while she took the cup before looking back at the handsome an that bought it. She offered a weak, clearly very nervous smile before thanking him again. Screw class, she decided. She needed a rest before work. Her eyes moved around the cafe, noticing every table was taken by at least one person. With a frown, she looked up at the man again, offering another thanks, she turned toward the door, intending on sitting on the curb to enjoy her coffee, or try to with the cold.

"If you need to sit for a minute, there's an extra chair," He offered, seeing her debate and wondering if she intended on going back out into the cold so soon. Gesturing to his table, he moved his laptop a little to give her more room at the table. "I don't mind the company."

She turned back toward him, hearing his words and seeing hsi movement. Her cheeks flushed softly and she gave a soft laugh. "Ah...you don't have to do that. I can see you're really busy. I would hate to interrupt whatever work you have going here. I've already interrupted you once." She laughed weakly again, shaking her head.

"I'm impossibly stuck." He shook his head with a soft laugh. "A distraction might do some good; I insist." He pulled out the other chair for her to illustrate his point, an easygoing smile on his lips. He hadn't had anyone this beautiful to talk to in a long time. Maybe this was a good day after all.

"Stuck?" She watched him curiously. "Stuck on what exactly?" He insisted..and when he pulled the chair out, she bit her lip, glancing at the door once more before nodding and sliding into the chair. She brought her cup to her lips, taking a small sip to be careful not to burn herself. Almost immediately she felt a bit more awake.

"I'm trying to write a thesis on the state of the city and what improvements can be made to the police force and the city itself in order to bring everything into a much better light." he picked up his own cup, taking a sip as he gave a withering glance to his screen. "It was going great for a while, but now I can't think of how to move forward."

"Well for starters, the police force could put more effort into catching the guy out there that thinks he's some kind of god." She frowned, taking another small sip of her drink before looking at him again. "People taht start trying to take justice into their own hands are the kinds of people we need the most protection from."

"Oh, you're talking about that Kira guy, right?" He asked, stretching a little as he relaxed in his seat. "I mean, vigilante justice works in some situations, but I'm not sure what to think about this. How can one person cause a pandemic of heart attacks?"

"I'm sure he has some kind of supernatural...object or something that elts him. Maybe even a supernatural being helping him out, who knows. But he's here, in Seoul. I'm sure of that much, at least." she shook her head, watching the man in front of her stretch. He really was attractive. "You don't think Kira is real, then?"

"I don't know what to believe. My father was a policeman; he taught me to only believe what I can see." He shrugged lightly. "Something like that...just doesn't make sense. I wonder if this Kira is just someone people are making up to explain something unexplainable." Watching her carefully, he rested his arms on the table, watching her with a raised brow. "What do you think of all of it?"

"Was?" What had happened to his father? She felt the way his gaze seemed to look into her soul. Her eyes moved to his and she heard him ask what she thought, she raised a brow. After a moment, she gav ea small smile. "I think you're Kira."

"He passed away five years ago. Hostage shootout gone wrong." He offered, meeting her eyes evenly before he heard the accusation. For a half-second, he was sure his heart stopped. She couldn't know. He had no evidence against him. She had only just met him. After a second, he laughed softly, shaking his head. "I almost believed you for a second. What makes you say that?"

"I'm sorry to hear that." She frowned at the words, looking at the man again before she watched him react to her words. As she heard him laugh, she smiled a bit wider. "You almost believed me? You think I'm not being serious..? It seems to me like Kira is incredibly smart, right? He's got a way to kill without having to be there, a way that should be impossible. And in being smart, he would likely work his hardest to make people think he either doesn't exist and it's all a conspiracy, or he'd find someone else to blame it on, maybe even help out with the investigation. And you seem awfully determined to convince me that Kira isn't real." She smiled a bit wider. "So maybe you are him. Who knows..."

"By that logic, you could be him. Someone who believes in things that can't be explained, someone well-read, intelligent, but unassuming. Your average working-class student with enough observant tendencies to see the world at its best and its worst. The last person anyone could expect." He offered, shrugging lightly.

"But why would Kira work to try to turn others against Kira? Throw them off the trail by other means, but I can't imagine h'ed ever claim Kira as a bad guy to anyone. He needs the support. He thrives on it. It's what makes him feel like a god and if he feels like a god, he thinks he can do anything. I guarantee he likes the feeling and he'll do anything to keep it..which means he wouldn't tell others that Kira is a bad person in this world, right?" She laughed softly, taking anotehr drink. Her phone buzzed once, then twice, then a third time. Someone was trying to find her.
