Once Upon A Time, Destiny was the Kingdom's first Healer. Then, she became the Princess of Fire, the Healing Princess. She was the pride of the Kingdom, a power to be respected. Finally, she became the Ice Queen, and she was the terror of the Kingdom, a power to be feared.
Now, she is merely the Ghost Queen.
She no longer feels the call of the land, her blood no longer sings to the people, her power no longer flourishes. The Ice Court has been dissolved, and those of her claim have been given free reign to seek claim beneath another royal. Only those who wish to remain at her side can continue to claim her refuge, and none may claim a position of power through their bond with her.
Do not think to receive a warm welcome should you stumble upon Destiny's home. She has little interest in visitors, and only greets those who need healing with a kind hand. While her power has faded, her temper has not. Beware those who would cross the broken Queen, for insanity is a much more dangerous thing than mere wrath. Those who once knew Destiny may find themselves welcome, if she can be pulled far enough from the roads of madness to recognize them as friends. It's ill advised to visit her should you not have the power to sooth or control the gifts that she wields.
Destiny, having lost her will to live, is currently in an almost statuesque state of being. Do not expect many interactions from her, but do not think to scavenge in this place, for an ancient and deadly power protects the lands that will one day revive and host the marvelous Queen and her people.
From deep within the eternal abyss of insanity, a dark power rises slowly towards the line between madness and the real world, stepping tentatively across that invisible boundary. It takes hours of effort, twitching a muscle here and there, before the Queen can clench her fist, and then longer still to wiggle her fingers. Days after that first stirring of life, Destiny stands slowly, her bones creaking loudly with the effort of their first moments in ages. She clutches the arms of her ice throne in order to hold herself up, and then she's collapsing back into the chair. It takes longer still before she can walk, moving in a short series of broken steps until she's in her private chambers, falling into her bed. And there, fully in her body for the first time in months, the Queen sleeps.
It was a gentle sensation at first, the odd feeling one gets when another is breathing down their neck but dissimilar in the fashion that it didn’t cause any fleeting sense of malicious intent. Then it was followed by a raspy lick that didn’t leave a trail of saliva but a mist of sorts, curling on the blemished skin of the kingdom’s healer before dissolving into the glacial air. With a large bestial ‘harrumph’ a ridiculously proportioned form eased onto Destiny’s bed before spreading it’s weight on the left side of the bedspread and elevating the opposite side of the mattress by a few inches. It was then that a majestic nightingale paw eased over the Queen’s back before pulling her gradually into a large cascade of fur that smelled of spring water, old moss and a rather reclusive wraith with a penchant for vanishing theatrically into the moonlight. The next lazy exhale of air was powerful enough to push her hair away from her face and the right side of the bed gradually lowered before pushing up again as the shaggy dark prince of the kingdom slowly took in another breath. It had been a span or two since the hallow-eyed male had bothered using his wolfine form but nevertheless, his large tangible torrent of black fur was radiating heat and the room’s light had dimmed in the face of a comfortable encasing shadow that seemed to originate from his form in webs layered upon webs of dark ink. “Have you risen ..?” queried the wraith with a placating animalistic rumble that sent small tremors across the padding of the bed, even though he’d spoken softly.

"It's too early," the Ice Queen grumbles in a very childish manner. Despite the sensual caress of her ancient tones, she sounded very much like a little girl roused from a wonderful dream by her big brother. And in the most basic of ways, that was true enough. Not bothering to open her eyes, or to wonder why Daemon was not in his humane form, Destiny snuggles up closer to the large wolf-like creature, burying her fingers in the warm fur and nuzzling against the wraith until she's covered in his scent, and the rest of the world seems to fade into nothing as sweet darkness takes her again. Some would say that she was shirking her duties, choosing to hide away from the world and sleep beneath the protective watch of her brother, but few would be brave enough to say it to her face, and those that brave had long since abandoned the frail vampiress who had given up her right to anything more than an honorary title among the kingdom of peoples who no longer cared for the old ways, and therefore no longer needed the old royals who had helped the land and the commoners flourish.
It was a good while before the woman stirred again, having curled herself up in a ball against the wolf's stomach, but by the time she blinked up at her beloved brother, eyes still clouded by sleep, there was no doubt that Destiny truly had returned, as eyes of piercing sapphire hues raked along the furry beast's form before she muttered about him shedding in her bed, the faintest flickering of life showing in her famed markings. "I can't be grumpy at you in this form," she purrs, her voice wavering with the exhausting energy it took to speak properly after having been frozen and removed from her body for so long. There was no great power to behold, no terrifying seductress to run from.. Soon, perhaps, she would be those things once more, but for now she was as fragile as the day she had come into this world as a human babe, perhaps more so, and the only thing she wanted more than to cuddle up against Daemon and sleep until she felt better was to sink her aching fangs into the throbbing vein of some delicious morsel and drink until she did not feel as though every cell in her body was screaming from starvation.
“It’s been two span and it’s the 3rd bell of dusk..” grumbled Daemon in reply as his large tail swatted her back before curling around the line of her midriff. As the male lapsed into silence his breath fogged in the glacial temperature of the room, a long line of mist pouring from his jagged maw before dissipating into the atmosphere. Beyond the frost-ridden windows birds could be heard whistling accompanied by the harsh guttural croak of the crows as if they were mocking them while a steady breeze swayed the bare tree line that could be seen from the snow feathered residence. It was a quiet evening, peaceful even but scarce of travellers due to artic weather and the roads covered in layers of black ice, treacherous to riders and horse-drawn wagons alike. The grasslands beyond the Queen’s gates had been disturbed however where piles of snow had been scattered and lengthy paced animal tracks indicated that there’d been a chase before a large clout of dirt showed where a rather large beast had tried to dig up a rabbit hole before giving it up in search of other prey. The aforementioned beast appeared to have been the dark wolfine if the scent of frozen dirt off him was anything to go by but there was also a hint of elk blood so he’d fed at the very least.
As they huddled together in the comforting dark, the shaggy dark prince gave a bestial grunt as the azure-eyed female stirred against his stomach and mockingly growled as she mentioned what bleak future awaited her porcelain bedspread. “I’ve a good mind to chew up these bloody silk sheets here and now” huffed the wraith as his four-legged form slid conspicuously over the blankets before his hind legs kicked the end of the mahogany wooden frame with a muffled thump. “The only place where I’m like to favour silk is on a woman’s legs; gives them a chance to wriggle..” The sound that followed after was a blend of a low rumble and a bark; it would have taken one a minute to figure that he was laughing. After a while of lying together in the soothing darkness, the hallow-eyed wolf sighed contentedly before burying his snout into the black tresses of her hair and simply inhaling her scent. It always made him feel somewhat lightheaded when he did this in his animal form, it was similar to a sharp tasting vintage wine or the first drag from a weed pipe after a hard day’s training. “Mm.. So how does it feel to be back in the world of the living..?” murmured Daemon into the strands of her hair as his gargantuan paws curled around her arms before resting in the slope of her lower back, as if he were about to pull her into a lazy embrace. “Seems like we’re going to have our work cut out for us if all these faces new and old keep pouring into the Kingdom..” The grey-eyed wolf spoke wearily but there a hint of amusement in his bestial tone as if he were glad of the change.
"Rip my sheets and I'll be sleeping in your bed," the woman threatens, her eyes flashing as she plants a kiss on the wraith's snout. Shaking her head, which sends knots of tangled ebony hair flying between them, she bites back an almost suggestive comment about silk between a woman's legs, choosing to roll her eyes at him instead of nagging him on with a response. Still, he was warm, and he was her beloved Daemon, so no matter how annoying she found him she was still eager to snuggle closer, burrowing into the cocoon of dark warmth that he created in his lupine form. Sometimes the negative effects of being a vampire, and therefore almost always cold, got a bit annoying, and after months in a statuesque state, she was thrilled beyond relief that he was in a shape that gave off heat to the extent that she was ready to peel her clothes off. The only down side was the she couldn't feed from him in this form, and the quick flash of red in her normally sapphire eyes was enough to tell that she was looking forward to her first meal in ages.
"It feels.. dull. I'm malnourished, and I daresay a good deal less attractive then I prefer. I'm hungry, in so many ways. I miss my children." Queens didn't whine, they just grumbled. Or at least, that's what she told herself as she let out an annoyed sound when her darling brother mentioned dealing with the people of the Kingdom. "I don't want to. Can't we just hide here forever?" she pleads, her lower lip poking out into a pout as she bats her lashes at him. Of course, she doubted he would say yes, and so she sighs, stretching and wiggling around until the majority of her bones have popped and she's feeling much more awake. That done, she collapses back down against him, sulking faintly.
It had been so long since Jace had decided to make an appearance in the Kingdom. There are several who would say that he had left for good. There had been no reason for him to remain. When he had disappeared Destiny was still Queen, still sane and still very powerful. He had heard nothing of what had happened, it hadn't occurred to him to check in. Nor did he know anyone else in the Kingdom. So he was quite surprised at the changes that had happened while he was away. She was no longer in a Castle and he could not feel her power, or her mind.
He walked slowly through the snow, unsure of whether or not he wanted to see the damage; to know what he had missed. In his anxiety thin ropes of flame began circling him like serpents. As he approached the entrance he wasn't sure if he should knock or simply walk in. Deciding that he would be cautious he knocked on the door. Destiny would either answer and let him in or she wouldn't and he'd enter anyway. Jace needed to know what was going on.
Hearing a knock on the front door of her considerably downsized home, the woman blinks. Who would be visiting her that wouldn't just come right in? Unless, of course, they were under the impression that she was still frozen in her statuesque form. Sighing, she reaches towards the door with her mind, faltering before her consciousness even reaches the door to her personal chambers. "Fuck," she mutters, wiggling away from Daemon reluctantly and gliding around the room, discarding her tattered nightgown in favor of a simple black velvet robe that barely brushes her knees. It would suffice for now, until she had the energy to get dressed properly. "Back in a mo," she murmurs to the lupine thing that was taking up most of her bed, giving him a mildly annoyed look that stated very clearly that she was blaming him for this visitor.
Making her way slowly through the manor, for she barely knew her way around this new home, she finds the front door after a few moments, pulling it open to reveal.. Jace. She tilts her head, her tangled curls falling in her face only to be pushed away by a quick brush of a skeletal-thin hand. Jace had only visited her once or twice in the Kingdom, but she was still extremely fond of him simply due to memories of their shared past. Noticing the flames flickering around him, she smiles faintly, revealing a flash of dainty fangs. "Merry meet," she greets quietly, her eyes raking over him and glimmering with her typical predatory look of approval before they return to his face, their glow dimming. Even this small bit of movement was draining her, and she had to steady herself on the wall to keep from falling over. She gestures for the male to come in, taking a few shuffling steps backwards so that he can move past her.
Gina had thought for quite awhile on going and seeing her queen again. It hadn't been long but a simple tug somewhere inside her was drawing her to go see her queen. Gina had been staying at roses castle for awhile and was feeling slightly better she definitely had more energy but she was nothing more than skin stretched very tightly over a thin skeleton. Her dress hung loosely on her thin shoulders and was more a bag then a dress.
Gina ran through the snow and ice bare footed. She didn't mind the cold since her power was over snow and ice much like her queen. Gina made it to the house in time to see the queen open the door. Excitement rushed through her forcing her to dash towards her queen. Before she knew it her small arms were wraped around her queens waist. Gina didn't know what to say so she stood there clinging to her queen silently crying. She didn't care that there was a male standing there or that she had been rude by pushing past to get to her queen. The queen was more than just her queen. Before the queen had gone into slumber she had been like a mother to her.
Hatsu roused herself from deep slumber. Like many of the kingdoms ancients she had gone into a sort of hibernation, her body locked away in a less then corporeal state within her secret celestial domain. There with her sisters she had let her mind wander and get body power down, becoming completely thought based, able to relocate on a whim though her body did not follow. She had remained in this hazy dreaming state for quite some time, her will to go on within this kingdom lacking.
She didn't know what pulled her from her slumber, what called her back to the world of the living. Whatever it was though she felt it weighing upon her strongly and with a snap her consciousness reconnected with her body. It took only a simple thought before she was located in what was now her queens home. Casting her eyes around she found it much changed from what she remembered. Mentally she kicked herself for allowing herself to become so lax in her friendship with Destiny. She should have been there for her when she needed her, as she sensed she had. There was little she could do now and so instead she focused on the present and moved forward, searching for her sister.
Wearing the form her soul had been blind to, she possessed hair the color of a ravens wing, skin as pale as fresh fallen snow and eyes black as coal. Her distinctly Asian features standing out on her lovely petite face. She was dressed in a traditional kimono, the multi colored silk billowing out as she moved down the hall in search of Destiny. As she moved her mind roamed over everything that had transpired, wondering at everything that she might have missed. While asleep her attention had been elsewhere she had to admit and so she was in the dark about many things.
“Wouldn’t be the first time..” rumbled the wraith in his mocking tone before biting off a soft growl as the Ice Queen wiggled in closer to his monolithic form. With a gargantuan sigh, the hallow-eyed prince of the kingdom murmured incoherently into the female’s raven hair before catching a scent in the air that spoke of forbearing irritancies. “Prepare yourself woman, we have guests..” True to his word, a soft knock resonated throughout the dwelling before fading into a gentle serene silence. Prior to the slight disturbance, with Destiny’s malnourished physique wrapped up and squirming lazily in his arms, he might very well have agreed to her query that followed shortly after. Snorting rather unfashionably in rejoinder to her impassive acknowledgement of her guests at the door; and most likely her thoughts of where they could very well stick that door-knocker, Daemon laughed at her expression before shaking one’s snout.
“Don’t bother, there’s always more than one..” spoke the wolfine as he rolled over lazily on the bed and stretched his hind paws, raking the back panel of her bedstead with his claws. As his tattooed compatriot turned to leave with a black velvet robe, the wraith called after her despondently with a tone bordering on a wolfish whine.. “What did I say about silk!? Nigh Gods and you choose velvet of all things? It’s hardly revealing at all..” When the door clicked in place after her, Daemon groaned as he sought to shift onto his back with his tail batting lazily on the decidedly ruined blankets of the mattress before he brought both of his over-sized claws to rest on his abdomen. Then, as his bones began to crack, creak and snap back into place, the wraith sunk his talons into the smooth vastness of fur before pulling it aside, much similar to the fashion in which one would unfasten a coat. Missing the compatriotism of his tail almost immediately, Daemon tossed back the snarling wolfine hood concealing the wild expanse of his nightingale mane before brushing the streaks to one side of his hallowed grey eyes. Then, with no lack of grumbling, the towering figure of blemished porcelain flesh swung his legs over the side of the bed, rubbed the sleep from his eyes and rose before pulling his arms through the sleeves of the black fur pelt.
Sniffing the frost-ridden atmosphere with a nose that was still surprisingly sharp, the dark prince followed barefoot in Destiny’s wake with his fleeced mantle trailing on the white stone and his charming lower half concealed just barely and infrequently by the flourishing breadth of wolfine fur. After passing through the entrance of the bedchambers, which had a startlingly close view of the dwelling's front door, Daemon cocked his head to one side whilst examining the guests in his signature stone-faced manner. “Hmm..” curling an arm around Destiny’s abdomen and pecking her cheek, the monolithic male glanced down at the two guests with an expression akin to a curious dog (a curious over-sized dog with big teeth) before releasing her to head off through the opposite corridor. “I’m going to make some tea, introductions later..” gesturing fluidly to those behind him, the hallow-eyed male walked into what looked like a food gallery of sorts and tipped an illusory hat to the lady Hatsu as she appeared through yet another hallway. “Evening my Lady..”

When the door opened to reveal Destiny, Jace immediately appraised her as he normally would. As his eyes glided down her form he noticed that she was not in good health. She appeared to have become mostly skin and bones. It was something he had not seen often on a vampire. He quickly glanced back up to her face and noticed the look in her eyes. He couldn't help but smirk. Her personality had not changed much, unlike her body. She must have been starving, he would have immediately offered some of his own blood had it not been for the small form that had tackled Destiny the moment she stepped aside to allow him in.
It was clear that this girl knew Destiny quite well, had known what had happened and been concerned about her Queen. She was a bit rude, but Jace was for the most part unaffected. He wasn't sure how long Destiny had been inactive, but it must have been a while. "Destiny." he said warmly, nodding his head in greeting. "It has been so long, and I see that I've missed much."
He took a few steps in the house, glancing around Destiny's new residence. It was a bit odd, as he had been quite used to her castle. He brushed the thoughts aside as another approached. This one a male, who was dressed in nothing but fur, and only his lower half. He gave the male a once over before returning his gaze to Destiny. The male did not stay for long and had left to make tea. He heard him greet another in the building, a woman.
Jace had not noticed that flames were still wrapping around his body and had in fact grown in size. They vanished in the blink of an eye as he didn't feel they belonged in the current setting. He had come to the Kingdom with hopes of spending some alone time with Destiny and do some much needed catching up. It appeared that his hopes were pointless. He would merely sit on the sidelines, quiet for the most part as he didn't feel particularly social in this group of people. It was all he ever did in her court. Sit alone in the background and play with fire.
Suddenly finding herself tackled by little Gina, Destiny blinks and nearly stumbles back, catching herself with the last bit of energy she had to spare and hugging the tiny female gently."You've not been taking care of yourself," she scolds quietly, giving the girl a stern look before she steps away, planting a kiss on her cheek. She wanted very much to be a mother to the darling girl, but she wasn't in the proper state to be that yet, barely able to stand. She was dazed from the impact, and didn't sense Hatsu until after Daemon had said something about tea.
"I don't drink tea," she calls after the male, even as she reaches out to barely brush Hatsu's familiar mind with a light Merry meet, sister before retreating and glancing down towards Gina again. "Why don't you go see Hatsu, sweetheart? I'm sure she's missed you. And then convince Daemon to make us something yummier than tea, yes?" She flashes her typical smile as she ushers the girl towards the hall, immediately turning to pierce Jace with a frigid blue gaze.
"Where have you been?" she huffs at him, moving at an almost human slow speed to hug him, brushing her lips lightly over his cheek. "You smell good," she adds absently, her own flames flickering to life in response to touching Jace, as they always had, but she's quickly stepping away, moving to slump in her throne, obviously exhausted just by this smallest amount of moving around.
Gina grinned at Destiny as she embraced her back and kissed her head. She frowned slightly at her comment of not taking care of herself and held back the urge to respond with, 'well neither have you.' She kept the comment to herself and nodded slightly. She smiled at the thought of Hatsu returning as well. "I'll go find her then take care of him." She grinned and hugged Destiny once more. Gina ran down the hall following Daemon. "Hey mister Daemon wait up!" She called after him. She followed him into a room. "Will you make me hot chocolate? Oh and I think Destiny would much prefer blood over tea. She doesn't like tea." She said walking up to Daemon.
She smiled up at him with a sweet innocent smile before he heard him address Hatsu. She whipped around to face where he was speaking to. "Hatsu!" She cried aloud and dashed over to her. She threw her arms around her much like she had to Destiny. Hatsu had been another who had been a motherly figure, but after she had disappeared Gina had grown much closer to Destiny. Destiny had become more like a mother to her then Hatsu had, but Gina would never say that to Hatsu. Gina looked up at Hatsu with a large smile. "Hatsu you're back!" She smiled happily. Gina turned back to Daemon. "I was being serious about mine and Destiny's drinks" She frowned slightly at him. Gina watched him for a moment as she waited for either of them to respond.
Jace was only slightly surprised at the cold gaze he had received. Of course Destiny was going to be upset about his absence. It only made sense, because out of all those of her court he was probably gone the longest. "I haven't been in the Kingdom. I've been off exploring. Because here, you are the only reason I return. There is nothing else for me here. In all the time I've been here, nothing ties me here. And I don't know what goes on with you half the time and it leads to me feeling like an outcast and then I leave again. There has been more than one occasion where I have considered leaving for good. And yet here I am now. If anything I'd think you'd be pleased that I returned at all." he said, feeling slightly annoyed, and venting a little.
"Don't take that the wrong way either. I want to be here for you, but unless I find something to do to keep myself busy, other than you, I might end up leaving." he said softly.
As she kissed his cheek he couldn't help but smile. It transforms into a smirk when she tells him he smells good. He notices the flames that once destroyed half of a city in the heat of their emotions. He follows her as she moves to her throne. "If you're thirsty, I have more than enough blood to share. I know for a fact that I won't be able to fill you up, unless you want to drain me dry." he said with a soft chuckle.
"I'm sorry I haven't paid you enough attention," Destiny murmurs in a mild tone as she pierces Jace with a patient blue gaze. She knew that sometimes she didn't have enough time to devote to those of her claim, which was why she was turning most of them towards other royals as of late, but she also knew that Jace was a grown man and he should have understood that she didn't neglect him by choice but by duty. She'd given her everything to this kingdom for nothing in return, but that was about to change. She intended to become strong again, to renew friendships and flourish as she hadn't since Vayne's departure. "We'll find you someone interesting to play with," she adds absently, flashing a tired smile. Already she was thinking of who she knew that would get along well with Jace and it was a startling short list, leaving her to realize that she didn't know who was in the kingdom anymore and the few people she was certain would be around might have started up relationships while she'd been too busy wallowing in despair to notice.
Petite at the best of times, and dangerously small in her current near-skeletal state, she didn't take up much room in the large ice throne and so it was nothing for her to pull Jace down beside her, curling her legs over his lap for the moment. She would probably be claimed to Daemon's grasp when he returned from finding tea, but until then, there was catching up to do. "Perhaps," she sighs, flamed flashing in her eyes as she snuggles against him, careful to keep her face a safe distance from any strong pulse points. She didn't trust herself not to feast on the male who ignited the fires that slept so soundly around most others. That was proof enough of her current fragile state since her control was normally unshakable. "How was your exploring? Did you bring me anything sparkly?"
As the hallow-eyed wraith placed an iron pot over the fire in the kitchen’s hearth, he raised a brow as the young girl who’d been laced with Destiny’s leg followed in his wake. “Chocolate..? What is this delicacy you speak of hither and why is it hot..?” enquired the towering male as his dark mane tilted to one side in the likeness of his canine brethren. “and I wouldn’t presume that, she prefers blood from its source and warmed to varying degrees..” Having said that, the dark prince hummed softly to himself as he turned his attention back to the black pot, bubbling sluggishly and frothing around the edges. As he sought to rummage through an overhead cupboard, Daemon removed a small sack cloth bag from the shelf with a veiled smirk before tossing it into the girl hands. “Catch…” he murmured faintly as he bent down to quite an extensive degree to pluck a strainer from the chest of drawers on his left. The pleasant scent of powdered coco drifted from the cloth in Gina’s hands as if on a sudden que, while a jug of chilled goats milk floated through the air by itself before settling gently on the countertop to the wraith’s left. “Thank you Lin..” spoke Daemon in the same faint tone as he hung another cast-iron pot over the fire that was smaller in size “Be a dear and fetch me the powdered leave from the pantry, bottom shelf on your left.” As the wraith emptied the milk into the empty container he turned around slightly to pluck the sack from Gina’s hand before taking a few pinches of the russet dust and flicking it into the foaming milk. When he’d finished with that, a clear glass jar weaved throughout the air before settling beside the empty jug with a rim of goat’s milk staining the countertop and dripping slowly onto the marble floor. “I’m certain that was all..” spoke Daemon in an absent tone as he frowned at the two pots brewing over the fire before sighing and snapping his talons. “Sugar, I doubly swear I’d lose one’s head at times..” With that said, the deathly pale male reached into the cupboard over his head again while the pot of hot chocolate slid gently off its hook and weaved throughout the room before pouring it’s steaming froth into an awaiting porcelain mug on the kitchen table.
“Found the blasted things!” declared the Prince as he settled a bowl of sugar cubes on the counter before moving to strain the tea in the remaining pot. “It’s better to leave it to settle but I’ve always enjoyed valley tea when it’s slightly mild. Just a habit to keep in mind when you’ve grown old enough to appreciate it.” As the wraith poured his tea into a mug on the table he seemed to run his hand through a space of air on his left before patting it twice and leaving the pot on a silver bracket and the sugar cubes in the centre of the table. It was a small detail but the Prince’s features seemed to take on a solemn expression for the space of a breath as he turned away from the fireplace. “I’ll leave you to partake of the sugar Gina, I’d best find mine Sister before she grows too ravenous..” While the wraith turned to leave, the pot of hot chocolate bobbed after him before settling into the crook of right talon. “Ahh yes, gracious thanks my lady..” spoke the wraith as he strode leisurely down the empty corridor before reappearing a half chime later in the slightly dishevelled court room of the Kingdom’s healer. “Well now..” articulated the towering male in mock disapproval as he happened upon the pair wrapped in arm, leg and lap upon the frozen throne. “I leave to brew tea and you set off gallivanting like a fruitless summer daisy of a girl. Tch, for shame.. for shame..” Rolling his eyes at the two, the hallow-eyed male settled his monolithic form into the upholstery of an ivory lounging sofa before pulling the large robe of dark wolf fur over the curve of his lap and settling the pot of hot chocolate on the cut-glass table in front of him.
