well mediocre is better than absolutely worthless. I think in every genre of music, (which "industrial" breaks up into disco and rock and the different forms of electronica) there are the pioneers who make the genre worth existing and everyone else just imitates and rehashes what was pioneered to them, until someone new comes along and breathes fresh life into it. I couldn't name an individual track, but I can think of 1000's.
I think this genre is a bit over run by tracks that are pretty much unremarkable, they're not rubbish but they don't make your heart sing or your knees tremble. I feel instead of complaining about this we should embrace it, and the best way to find a track that stands out as a shining example in this genre is to go searching for this pinnacle of mediocrity in track format. I think we should embrace these 'meh' tracks by rigorously weeding out the 'meh'est of the mehs and glorifying it with glory.
Hence this thread.
you know, I'll give you a band: Nitzer Ebb. JUST OPINION, but that music is so boring to me. it's well-made and all that, but I'm always hearing people recommending, and I can't figure out why.
I could answer this endlessly and perhaps you'd expect me to. But my not liking something because it doesn't meet my personal requirements does not negate the chance someone else may enjoy it.
Eh, there are those tracks that can certainly set my feet on fire, and then there are the ones that I can still dance to but not feel an inclination to memorize the lyrics to.
Honestly, out on the floor, songs do have a propensity to run together seamlessly, but that's more a marking of the DJ's skill rather than a matter of mediocrity.
But yeah, there are some tracks on numerous CDs I can skip without feeling much guilt. It just depends what you're in the mood for.
They fucking suck huge donkey dicks, that vid posted is the second time I listened to them and they well and trully do suck big hairy primate balls, thanks for ruining my day you heartless heathens.
Panocha Posse 4 life. Panocha Bandito. Love the camboyana puta. CHUPALO PUTA!!!!
everyone says they suck, I'm staying away. definitely is hard to attack a band because you'd like to think there is value in their artistic expression, but in reality, that's just not the case for EVERY band.
Ok, so I saw BlackOPS at an Aesthetic Perfection concert and they come out with "Now everyone count to three" and people start counting over and over again... here's me-- I'm a huge sucker for 3/4 time sigs and triplets when they're used effectively and I got seriously excited. The song basically amounted to them chanting "1,2,3" over and over again followed by a rest in 4/4 time. I was butt-hurt for at least 3 minutes.
i'll prolly get flamed, but when i think of "mediocre" (not "terrible", mind you) i instantly have visions of KMFDM.

not EXACTLY an Industrial track (it has been known to spill out in industrial/alternative nights at clubs I've been to) .... but think it deserves a mention because (a) for a 'dance' group they sure got reviewed in Metal Hammer a shed-load of times and (b) is a clear demonstration of what happens when your record company is whimpering on about your next big hit and you're trying to do something with a bit more to it than pop music shit....
I give you....
Prodigy - Baby's got a Temper... a terrible mash or too much self-sampling and lyrical clichés all rolled into one "not quite there" package.
Pulse Legion was pretty mediocre, i listened to their cd maybe twice and then immediately sold it! Amateur kids trying to copy Skinny Puppy, but they had the same formula & beats in every song. The Revolting Cocks live lp is quite boring also!
