How do you rate my composition?
March 11, 2012, 09:04am
This is the first full song I've ever written and I'm really chuffed about it, so can you please give me your feedback and tell me what you think of it. I'm really looking for criticism and ways to improve ; any comments, no matter how harsh, would be helpful. Thanks. :-) (If this is in the wrong thread, please move it.)

Love it.
Like it.
Don't mind it.
Don't like it.
Hate it.

It sounds like a midi file!? Its not bad but needs waaay better sounds. It reminds me of old NES rpg games, town musics. I listen to this and want to upgrade to stick +1.

I like ... But some sounds are too fake ... you should try to improve them ... However, nice composition!

Like other people have said, MIDI doesn't give a good idea of a song. The production of a song can either make it a hit, or a big flop (and I don't mean commercially here).

many others have said it... but you know what's coming.
THOSE sounds!!! They damage the music so much!
Also, the whole piece has some nice little motifs and other nicely done musical flourishes... but it's hard to pick them out as it's just TOO dammed fast and WAY too mechanical.
MY advice?
find a way of recording each part of it live (piano, choir - a synth should suffice) and put those warm human touches back into it that are REALLY needed to make this a beautiful piece.
Also, as it's a somewhat Baroque sounding work - you might consider a harpsichord sound as opposed to a piano...
