I'm a sucker for sharpness and clarity so I'd be a bit biased :P, out of all these I liked Green DJ the most(the best of the bunch I'd say). Perspective Space is also okay. I'm not too fond of different textures and noises in a picture, but kudos to you
thanks guys. I too love sharpness/clairty, it just seems to look good hehe. Perspective Space had a lot of potential, but my final output didn't come out how I was hoping it would have! (maybe ill come back to it again)
also the Green DJ was my first photo I did not involving a school assignment!
I love the textures in your pieces.
Catches the eye.
xX??? ????Xx
When your feelings get through to someone and you make that person happy, and you see them smile, what a wonderful feeling it is... And how truely wonderful, if that someone is the one you love.
thanks guys. I think next pic will be black & white, or atleast greyscalle, with not much editing. Ive had others reccomend trying to do a pic with less filtering and not in color, so be on the look out in the next month,
It's been awhile but been busy with work. Plan to get into doing a lot more photos again here soon. Here's my newest photo. It snowed a ton about a week ago and i decided one morning after coming home from work to do a snow photo. Here it is

I have to be honest man your use of filters and such is pretty over-the-top, but I can see you're experimenting with different ways to use them, which is pretty bad-ass. Overall I'd say just try to branch out and try different subject matter/different methods as much as possible. Your work is pretty interesting. Keep it up.
thanks a lot everyone. I'll take your advice and try something new next. I think i'll do something with nature without too much editing/filtering

Step away from filters. They only do justice when used lightly. There awful filters and they ruin good images, Had to be said, sorry if it sounded harsh. Photoshop may be a professional programme, but that doesn't mean everything that is within the programme is of any decency.
a lot of people have said similar things. I'm trying to do a more Natural one, but it's hard for me to put into a picture what I imagine without the filters.
I'm thinking of doing a B/W photo but I just need to figure out what to do for it. Should have one within a month hopefully.

That self portait is like 1000x better than your edited ones. It works so much better, and is a really good image. If you can photograph you don't need much in the way of editing. have you tried film?
Sorry for the late response, I just moved into an apartment not too long ago and have been a bit busy between that and work but now I'm settled down.
Thanks, I took yours and many others advice to try one without editing/filters. I haven't messed with actual Film yet or before. I imagine it would give some of the photos a more "real" sense to them that digital cant (almost like Vinyl vs Digital music)? Do you recommend checking it out?
Also thanks for compliments on the image itself. I tried to do a 50/50 photo (if that makes sense) where I'm the divider. Although I showed someone the photo and they said "If I didn't know you, I would think you looked "Serial Killerish" in this photo" hmmm, luckily that's the only person who said that to me thus far hehe.
I hope to do a cool photo messing with White Balance next. My friend showed me a few tricks with White Balance that creates a cool effect without the use of editing.

I will always say to try film, Its a personal favorite of mine, I no longer use it as I'm doing illustration in uni. But I have studied Photography before, and i loved it, and found it really exciting. It gives back alot more satisfaction than digital. It will also help with digital photography, it helps with capturing that shot, because with digital you can take say 60 of the same picture, with film you're limited.
Also if you look 'serial killerish' who cares? Its a good thing.
That step away from the filters is absolutely the right direction. Experiment with layers and layer modes, levels and curves, and look at some tutorials based around the effects you want to achieve and things will start to look a lot more sophisticated. Filters are okay when you're first finding your way around the program but most of the time they don't really serve a lot of purpose on their own in serious design (and that's my biased opinion coming out as a graphic designer :P). Some tutorials, particularly one I use for airbrushing portraits, does make use of a noise filter and a blur filter, but doesn't rely heavily on them. It's all about using them as a small piece of the overall puzzle, not as the whole puzzle itself.
However these do look like you've had a ton of fun doing them which is a really good thing. Enjoyment in your work will definitely show through
i got the money, so if i come across a decently priced one I might try to get a camera. Although my Grandpa was huge into photography and I think we still have all of his old equipment somewhere at my parents house. I'll have to check into it then!
Yeh i def got to look at some tutorials. I've seen the Layer Modes before but didn't really know how to truely use them well. I did use layering in this photo though. I changed the background a bit and also Edited my Hair a bit. WHat are the "curves" though. Are you refering to the Curves on the Graphs that changed the tones of the picture?
