Type O Negative was a heavy metal band from Brooklyn, New York City. Although commonly viewed as a gothic metal band, Type O has also incorporated elements of doom metal and thrash metal. Their dramatic lyrical emphasis on themes of romance, depression, and death resulted in the nickname "The Drab Four" (in homage to The Beatles' "Fab Four" moniker). The band went Platinum with 1993's Bloody Kisses, and Gold with 1996's October Rust, and gained an enormous following with seven studio albums, two best-of compilations, and concert DVDs.
One of my all time favorite metal bands, I could listen to October Rust all day and not get tired of it. I admit, I'm not as much of a fan of their thrashier stuff, but songs like Love You To Death, World Coming Down, and Day Tripper are fantastic.
I'd always liked the few songs I heard by them but I'm sad I only really got into their music after Peter Steele died. Recently picked up Dead Again and it's damn good. Such a unique sound on their releases.

By four o'clock I've discounted suicide in favor of killing everyone else in the entire world instead.
I've only listened to that cd once, was good, but like I said, their thrash stuff isn't really my thing.
I cried when I found out he died, it was so sad... I mean, he had a good run, but he had so much potential...
I saw them only 1 time live.
Black nº1 for me it's an epic ghotic music....
I would like to reincarnate in Peter person....What a presence he had, that chain supporting the bass.
Speaking of Type O Negative, I bought their live DVD 'Symphony For The Devil' recently. I figured that with Pete Steele being dead they're never going on tour again so this is the closest I'll ever get to seeing them live.
Gaaaah! I love Type O. Everything about em' makes me squeal like a little school girl. The first album I purchased of them was October Rust. Found it in a local thrift store not too far from where I used to live. Ever since then, I've been entranced with Peter's amazing vocals, the lyrics, and everything else! To this day, thanks to that random grab at the thrift store, they're my all time favorite band.
I bought Bloody Kisses in a store that doesn't even exist anymore. Anyway, I bought it because I knew my parents used to have an old tape of Bloody Kisses and I just expected it to be good.
