I have gone through some cat wands, let me tell you. Inevitably, I spend between thirty and fifty dollars on my cat every holiday season buying them new treats and seasonally-appropriate cat toys. Nothing says Halloween like batting around a crinkly bat, right? And then they find the one zip tie I didn't pick up and that is the real hit, ain't it the truth?
Anyways, I want to discuss toys that worked for your cats. My cats are all about the laser pointer and mylar balls, bit their favorite toys are wands!
also anything that makes noise. we have a lot of little balls with bells in them. and we recently bought this little mouse that squeaks when the cat paws at it, and our kitten gomez is obsessed with it.
i don't really bother with buying the wand toys, i just use ribbon.
but their absolute favorite toy ever is... an empty box. hahaha *shakes head* silly cats.

Twist ties off of bread. Or electrical cords of some sort.
They have about 300 dollars worth of toys, don't really care about them. Just the twist ties.
He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night and the
storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and
forever. He burns at the center of time
and can see the turn of the
universe. And... He's
wonderful.
or we just buy socks/gloves for cheap double them, and put some cat nip inside and sew them up.
I'm also pretty sure my dad took an empty tissue box, put another hole in it, and zip tied two binder clips to it.
My 18lb cat kept trying to go into the box to get them out.
I brush my cat and take the hair from the brush and roll it into a ball. He ADORES it. I have no idea why he likes it so much, he has so many nice toys to play with but chooses a ball of his own fur
Your lucky Tore, mine only want to groom the daylights out of their balls of fur
My cats have an assortment of ribbon and rope (from an old scratch post), jingly balls, fuzzy balls, toys made of catnip, wands etc.....But I leave one grocery bag unattended while putting food away and she is wearing it as a cape.
And for some reason my hat-scarf has been a really big hit, it makes one of them go primal instincts on it. I'll be sitting on the couch wearing it, next thing you know I have a cat gnawing and huffing in my ear.
I wish my cat would go after toys instead of my neighbors dog. At 20lbs I'm concerned he's going to hurt her one day. (She's a toy pompom) Although he loves cat nip, does that count as a toy? lol
my cat is too old and lazy for toys anymore. he enjoys the laser pointer from time to time... our vet recommended it to us to get him moving and he literally will just stare at it, and if it gets close enough he'll try to eat it.
when he was a baby he really enjoyed wand toys with feathers and ribbons and shiny things though.
