My first entry in The World Through My Lens Take II is a nice shot of Orion the Hunter I grabbed last night. It was a COLD night, but I find that a cold night is the best type of night for star photography.

Was walking my dog, yesterday, when I came across this tree. It had a little notch that looked like an eye socket, so I decided to composite in an eye - my eye, to be exact. Satisfyingly creepy.

JEWELZ_UNDEAD - Usually, I'm not a huge fan of star photos, either. As much as I love all things astronomy, I find that they all tend to look the same. The night I took this shot, I was lucky enough to where things added up to form what I hope to be a unique enough photo to make a star photo interesting. Thanks for your kind words on that one!

As stated in reply to JEWELZ_UNDEAD, I usually am not one to take photos of stars. Lately, though, night photography has been something of interest to me. I took advantage of our continued mild winter and went to the river park to grab a few shots of my town's most recognizable landmark, the Board of Light and Power tower. The resulting photo pleases me. I hope you enjoy it, as well.

JEWELZ_UNDEAD - I have never been on the other side of the river, but I do believe there is a trail (by looking at Google Earth). Might be a good place to try the perspective that you suggested...
