I'm going to have to rent this one beforehand... It looks fun and pretty and all... but in execution I can't help but lower my expectations. Having seen how Alice Madness returns came out.
The gaming industry needs more games with gratuitous violence and adult themes. Saints Row The Third has it, and Postal 3 takes it to the next level. But for the most part, games like Skyrim to be modded to get them good and sleazy.
Sure, in the eighties when most gamers were kiddies who spent their lunch money at the arcade, or at home playing Excitebike and Metroid, it made sense to make the games rather tame. But seeing as how there are more adult gamers than ever, it only makes sense to start making more games with adult themes.
Illusion games, which are highly sexual, sell great in Japan, and they're very pirated here in the states. So there's totally a market for more sexual games, US publishers are just being prudish and allowing the moral police and Walmart to dictate too much.
Speaking of adult themes, the mods coming out for Skyrim are getting pervier than pervy..
You want violence with amazing graphics...try Gears Of War 3, which you would have heard of unless you`ve been living under a rock haha.
"NMH1/2 was good?
When did this happen?"
They were very good actually, hence the reviews. It was very err...Japanese, punk style games, unapologetic in how crazy they were. The actual hack and slash gameplay was pretty awesome, more so with the wii motion intergration. Much like Killer 7, Suda is a genuis. His games are absurd and just crazy as fuck.
Well I think they only released the first one for the pc..
Saints Row the Third really plays heavily with sex and violence, or at least as much as they can without risking the game being banned at Walmart. Which reminds me, the first major dlc pack comes out this month.
This is one of those games that make me wish I had a more recent generation gaming console (baring handhelds, my most recent is a slim PS2, I haven't touched console gaming since 16).
I have a soft spot for ass-kicking females. Though I'm not -as- much of a fan of the cutesy ones...
Oh, and a friend of a friend, Danni/Danielle/Murder Nurse is competing in a contest to be the official face of Juliet. She's a Suda51 fan, does a No More Heroes burlesque act, and is actually a nerd unlike most of the fakey-tan agency models in the competition. Round 1 of voting just ended, so we're waiting to see if she got enough votes to move on in the competition.
Everytime I see this game I remember why I DON'T want anything to do with it. If I twas given to me for free. I'd throw it out of a 2 story window and into a flaming barrel.
This week's issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki PlayStation magazine is revealing that the Lollipop Chainsaw game's Japanese release will feature bonus crossover costumes from four different anime: Deadman Wonderland's Shiro, Many? Hiken-ch?'s Chifusa Many?, Highschool of the Dead's Rei Miyamoto and Saeko Busujima, and Haruna from Is This a Zombie?
The game comes from Grasshopper Manufacture and its creative director, Suda 51 (No More Heroes). James Gunn, writer of last year's film Super and co-writer of the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, is supervising on the story scenario in the English release.
If the combat is anything like no more heroes 1-2, it will be fast, addictive, monstrously violent and flowing.
Suda rarely makes anything without redicoulousness taking place. Absurd Japanese games certainly have their place. Who can forget how wonderfull Bayonetta was ?
Manga Artist Presents "Highschool of the Dead" x "Lollipop Chainsaw" Illustration
Plus a look at cross-over DLC costumes with confirmation of worldwide availability
Highschool of the Dead artist Shouji Satou is doing more than lending a pair of character designs to Lollipop Chainsaw for downloadable content character design. He's also illustrated a special zombie fighter cross-over illustration, that will be offered to Japanese consumers who buy the fourth volume of his new action manga Triage X.
I`ll probably buy it as the only hack`m up I have is God Of War 3 and its blatantly too hard for this newb, I thought ninja gaiden 2 was too hard to be fun(I did find dmc4 pretty easy though).
If its anything like NMH1-2 I`ll be able to kick some arse in it dude to the button inputs and combo set ups. Its not so hard that its not fun.
Actually I just want this game because the blonde cheerleader is fucking hot.
" These are my shit kicking boots - one size fits all "
More like 90 dollars(NZD). I spent 95 bucks on Bayonetta because she was hot.
Look, I spent nearly a hundred dollars on Duke Nukem Forever, if I am prepared to waste that much money on that piece of shit, then I can waste money on a Suda game.
