Is it just me or is "industrial" fashion getting fucking ridiculous? Don't get me wrong. I like a lot of the styles and clothes out there. But I think there's a reason most guy's in the scene go for goth chicks instead :P

What are your thoughts on the state of the scene's fashion? What bugs you? what do you like?

PS: This isn't meant as an attack on anyone who might wear these things. I totally believe you should wear whatever the fuck you want, and to hell with the haters. I'm just trying to get a discussion going on some of the fashion trends within the "scene".

The addition of fuzzy leg warmers/bootcovers just seems like Cyber is adopting a bit more from raver fashion if anything lol.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

What's industrial about it?

Dreadfalls and goggles are pretty old news at this point. I don't think I've ever actually seen anyone wear those furry legwarmer things. What part of the world are they popular in?

They should pay attention to the classic old acts. Like this.

I just really really really really loathe when people go over the top with fashion. In any "scene". It's just that in general I find industrial to be the least arousing.

Subtlety is nice - "oh look your tie has a circuit board design", or "nice stomping boots". But I see a girl with loads of plastic hair and I think "how old ARE you", or a man wearing anything but a suit and I think "you're NEVER getting into bed with me, mate".

I mean, why can't people dress in a civilised classic, FUNCTIONAL way?

Why the FUCK would someone need to wear a gas mask that wouldn't even function if you WERE gassed. I think it's INSULTING to the memory of soldiers in the wars for people to ponce around with a bit of neon plastic emblazoned with the biohazard symbol strapped to your face.

In my experience the most boring people usually wear the most interesting clothing, so at least it's a way to make up for it! gooby
I agree with wearing whatever you want, and personally I like seeing the outlandish outfits people come up with!
As for my taste, I've never been one for the 'I've just rolled around in Cyberdog' look, I prefer the sensible clothing with a subtle military/gothy twist look (not including gasmasks). But I also like bright colours so... *shrugs*

I like cyber fashion, I do not dress like it, but I like it still. The legwarmers are retarded, but the cyber lockes and goggles are pretty win, in my opinion. Vinyl and pvc suits women in my opnion.

fuck you guys I love when people wear fuzzy leg warmers, they are so soft and fuzzy, and fun to touch. But people seem to get creeped out when you just walk up and start rubbing their legs...

I like subtle cyber. I tend to go for clean lines. Usually opting for black with a hint of color contrast. No fuzzy legwarmers, no spiky respirators(but I do enjoy traditional gas masks) and no raver bullshit.

The fashion seems pathetically uncreative IMO.
You could literally wear anything, if you decide to wear a gas mask you probably just aren't that intelligent and certainly not creative at all.

Actually gas masks are a good way of avoiding inhaling the dust at open air festivals. That's about the only use they have.

I'm actually tempted to wear a pair of real gas welding goggles to the next cyber event just for kicks. If you want the ultimate 'Industrial' look surely that's the best way to do it!!

That sounds pretty jaded, you could say the same about leather/vinyl/pvc.

I truly do not give a flying hoot what someone wears to the club.....so long as they aren't some mainstream bimbo who likes "that European techno stuff" and wears fucking polos grr

jeans a tshirt is fine but if you look like a posh moron who got lost in American Eagle Outfitters then you're in the wrong place.

"jeans a tshirt is fine but if you look like a posh moron who got lost in American Eagle Outfitters then you're in the wrong place."

-Goes to closet with head down and changes clothes-. Honestly, I wear whatever I can find to industrial clubs. Even my AE clothing. :3 It's a club. It's place for music and dancing. Just as long as naughty bits are covered with fabric I don't care. Hell, I've seen guys dressed up as babies, thongs, and assless chaps (the industrial scene here in NYC seems to be intertwined with the fetish scene). I don't care as long as I don't see strange penises and vaginas flailing everywhere.circles

Like another commenter said, I like subtle industrial. I do wear the dread falls I do wear the goggles, I never have been into the fuzzy leg warmer and over the top neon gear though. That IMO is a little too on the raver side of things for my personal tastes. I tend to veer more towards industrial/gothic fetish. But tbh, I think people should wear whatever the hell they like, whatever they feel comfortable wearing, I'm there to dance, listen to great music and have a good time, not take part in a fashion critique.

Dave wears leg warmers, he tries to be grym, but in his heart he sees neon! I would actually pay money to see Dave with cyberlockes.

There are some people that can rock any look and do it well, but not once in my 28 years have I seen anyone that makes plastic hair look good.
