when i do industrial dancing ive been doing this for a while ive been told that feel the beat and have fun and you can dance anywere as long you have fun. is there more than that. i just wanna know.
when i first started getting into this scene the dancing was just another outlet for creativity, feel the music, express the music, didn't matter what kind of music it was. something about the attitudes of those around me seem to have changed that. used to enjoy watching how other ppl interpreted the music
I really want to learn industrial dancing! But apparently they dont give classes. And ever sence i saw Tank9's youtube video ive been in love with industrial dancing. And really wanna learn is there some specific way im.supposed to do it? Like moves u do with ur.hands or do u make it up? Same.with.ur.feet?
I've been practicing a bit, I just wear regular clothes for it, none of those gas masks and cargo pants deal. While I am dancing to that kinda music, I have Combichrist going
I live about a 10 minute drive from NYC and I go there all the time for Industrial night, and out of the entire NYC scene, I am 1 of 4 people total who ACTUALLY Industrial Dance.
Being a drummer, i usually just follow the beat... but after about a couple of measures i change my timing a bit, so that i am not following 8th or 16th-note patterns rigidly. One looks like a freak or like you are boxing when dancing! You have to watch out for the Power-noise kids who stab the air and wave their arms vigorously as they turn and kick, i have been hit in the head by dancers like that who don't seem to care that they are invading other people's dancing area... it's like the whole dance floor belongs to them! And others barely move at all, they look they they are too timid to bust a move, and should just safely watch from the side-lines as some dance floors can be like a brutal shark-tank or a war zone! But we all know there are certain songs as soon as you hear about 10 seconds of a track, there is a force that compels one to rush to the floor, like a little devil behind you tapping your shoulder, saying get on the floor, look at those hot chicks out there, no guys are out there with them! A lot of guys are too conscious to dance at all, not me... damn good exercise to dance to EBM!!!
Maybe I`m just an old pervert, maybe a slut loving dirty dog, maybe I just can`t change my ways, but the main problem with industrial dancing to me, as a man is that the dance style just isn`t very sexualised.
Some sex kitten, cybergoth princess needs to lead people into a new trend, a new future, that princess, that pioneer, needs to find a way to slut up industrial dancing and then that person needs to popularise it. More hip swivels, more culo shakes, some culo gyrating, modify the hand gestures to make it look like you giving yourself a facefull`o fuck facial.
Sexualise industrial dancing, make it look more exciting, more seductive.
