Been playing for a short period (less than 2 hours) on normal (I rarely play first time on any other setting) and it's got the theme just right (if you ever played silent hill or the first few RE games then you'll know what I mean).
It's just scary enough without going OTT - I haven't got that far in but if you explore around you pick up lots of goodies (more than you'll need) - I'm not a huge fan of silent hill / Resident Evil style games so I'll see how it goes but so far it seems pretty cool
I found singularity to be a bit meh. It had some good ideas, tried to have an interesting story. But the graphics, aiming and shooting mechanics just fell short for me. Theres other things to pick at, but I will leave it at that.
What were you playing singularity on? - on the PS3 I've not got any complaints about aiming or shooting I did read Gamespot's review and it says there's glitches but it's an obvious copy/paste for both the 360 and PS3 versions so I'm not sure if only one or both are supposed to have glitches - as said so far on the PS3 I've had no problems but not played for too long.
Personally I'd forgo graphics over gameplay so if the gameplay is great that's what really matters for me.
P.S it's using the Unreal Engine 3 which should be working fine (although some graphical things aren't available on the PS3).
Ratings vary between 70-85% in general... I'm not far into the game so can't really say how good it is but only cost me £10 brand new so either way I wont be complaining too much.
Nickoftroy, how is LOTRO? I've been thinking about playing it in hopes of kicking my random WOW cravings. Is the healing system any good?
I can't really compare it to WoW, coz I've never played it, but healingwise you have a couple of heals depending on your class, plus food and pots. If you choose the cooking hobby, it's way easier, as you are able to make yourself food on the fly. I went Captain class, and it had some decent healing skills from memory. Loremaster, Guardian or Warden probably have better though

Well the aiming in singularity was not fucked per say, it just felt off as far as sticky aiming is concerned.
It did not really push the beloved unreal 3 engine very far either.
But in saying that, there is some pretty cool ideas, it is just the excecution of said ideas that fell flat for me.
