JourneyQuest is a fantasy comedy web series from the creators of "The Gamers" and "The Gamers: Dorkness Rising".
Following a group of dysfunctional adventurers on a quest to discover and destroy the mythical Sword of Fighting, JOURNEYQUEST is a comedic adventure through the fantasy world of Fartherall, where intellectual orcs, incompetent wizards, and holy zombies form the living (and not-so-living) backdrop to an epic story of unrequited love, burning passions, and severely reluctant heroism.
And running away. Lots of running away...
I've been waiting for this!!
It seems I haven't been paying close enough attention, as they finally started releasing the JourneyQuest episodes!
Perf: “So … The Temple of All Dooms? Really? All of them?” Carrow: “Well, not likely. But the ‘Temple of Some Dooms’ doesn’t have quite the same punch.”
•Share our work! Our biggest enemy is obscurity. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, you name it, wherever you like to go for information, spread the word. •Become a financial contributor, either one-time or ongoing. •Share our thermometer widget, embed it on your website, and join us as we work toward our financial target for next season. •When it comes out, buy our DVD. We’ll have all sorts of extras on it. And because we’re self-distributing, you know that your dollars actually count for something. •Remix JourneyQuest. Make cool stuff. Write stories, or music, or new movies. Contribute to culture. (And link back to us.) •Volunteer to screen JourneyQuest at your local convention. We can’t travel everywhere, but our fans are already there. We’ll help you through every step of the process. •Help us create subtitles in your language. •Come up with cool new ideas and share them with us!
Also, with the release of the season finale JourneyQuest episode, there comes an Easter Egg for the Gamers/Dorkness Rising fans on the ZOE upload (which I didn't post, but you can watch it here)
And, the news is the return of Dorkness Rising in a Special Edition release.

Dead Gentlemen Announces a New Edition of THE GAMERS: DORKNESS RISING
The Gamers: Dorkness Rising is coming back to DVD! Featuring multiple commentary tracks, subtitles in many languages, outtakes, and deleted scenes in an all-new special edition, the DVD will be released region-free for sale worldwide.
For the new release, Dead Gentlemen Productions is partnering with sister company and distributor Zombie Orpheus Entertainment (ZOE). ZOE will release the DVD under their FAN SUPPORTED, CREATOR DISTRIBUTED model (link). This includes a broad non-commercial Creative Commons license (link), a copyleft approach to file-sharing and “piracy”, licensing the property for third-party commercial derivative works via the Creator Endorsed trademark (link), a digital release through distribution partner IndieFlix, and distribution to the worldwide hobby market through Paizo Publishing.
“ZOE is a company that believes in building long-term, sustainable relationships with a passionate fan base,” says Ben Dobyns, founder of Zombie Orpheus Entertainment. “Dorkness Rising is a fantastic fit for our approach to distribution and we look forward to helping the film continue to grow as we empower its fans to download, share, and remix the project.”
“We at DG are just really excited about what Ben is doing with ZOE,” said Don Early, President of Dead Gentlemen Productions, LLC. “Having direct interaction and access to our fan base has always been at the top of our priorities. With traditional distribution, you lose a lot of that. With ZOE, the fans get to directly support and participate in what we’re doing, and we get to stay connected. That’s what we’re all about.”
“We’re also excited about this new release of Dorkness Rising,” continues Ben Dobyns, “because this distribution model will help make a Gamers sequel happen much sooner. Our biggest sequel roadblock has been recouping Dorkness Rising’s budget. With the increased dollar value of direct distribution, we’ll be able to recoup and start work on a sequel much sooner than we could while waiting for traditional distribution models to pay out.”
The new DVD of The Gamers: Dorkness Rising is expected to release in April 2011. Fan content and submissions will be encouraged!
I can't embed it since it's not an embedable code here, but if you want to track the progress to Season 2 (or donate), go here to look at the progress widget.
You asked for it. The "Official Bootleg Edition" DVD of our first season is now available at journey-quest.com. Orders are open through Friday only, then it's gone forever. WARNING: This is a region-0 DVD-R with a black sharpie label. It's cheap as hell. It doesn't have cool special features. Matt Vancil probably licked it when we weren't watching. Proceed with caution!
Quoted from the Homepage
"when might I be able to purchase a DVD? I don't care if its just all the shorts on a home burned copy with Journey Quest written with a worn out old sharpie on it . . . actually that would probably amuse me if it looks a little boot leg." - Lana, Facebook
You asked for it! Available in very limited quantities, this DVD-R with a black sharpie scrawl label will ship only on Monday the 20th, just in time for the holidays.
?Zombie Orpheus Entertainment and the Dead Gentlemen are absolutely thrilled to announce that Dollhouse veteran Fran Kranz will be joining the cast of JourneyQuest for season two! All hail Fran!
Looks like ZOE posted the SJ Tucker "Playing D&D" music video on YT, that will be an extra on the new DR DVD.
So I figured I'd share, since I got a kick out of it.
Any MMA fans in the house? You won't believe who's joining our JourneyQuest cast…
Oh my!
I'm just waiting on the PR to find out who it actually is, but my two guesses are Randy Couture or Oleg Taktarov.
Those are the only two I can think of that have an acting background.
See if you can guess who it is before the PR is released.

Preview and download songs from Journey Quest (Season One Soundtrack) by Steve Wolbrecht on iTunes. Buy Journey Quest (Season One Soundtrack) for just $9.99.
Also, when asked about a physical release, the response was such:
If there's significant demand, sure.
As I like physical CDs much more than MP3s, I'm all for a physical release, though I don't really expect that they'll get enough interest in it to be a viable option.
