Saying the Misfits are cool on a punk forum is saying "I enjoy breathing" to, well, anyone. No one gives a shit, stop trying to look badass by being superior to your scene kid peers.
When dealing with The Misfits, it's always a touchy subject. 77-83 is universal, but is it cool to say you like them 96'-00'? Are they still considered a band after every talented member quits/gets fired ten years ago? Does the Only Jerry Black Flag extravaganza band count as The Misfits? Did Googy really quit the band over a cheeseburger?
All these questions, and more, will be answered after the break.
The Misfits are the shit. Fuck all them scene kids' and their poofy mullets wearing the misfits shirt because the "skull looks pretty
You mean like you? You probably bought the t-shirt at Wal-Mart...
I like The Misfits, I don't care what you think. I really don't know anything about them except that I like their music. That's all that counts to me. If you don't like my opinion then fine. I don't care for trolls.
"Don't let anyone, even your parents, break you. Find good people who care about you and surround yourself with just them. If you can't find them at first, find good music and fall into it, let it hold you until they come." - Davey Havok
I fucking love Misfits music across all eras but sadly i've only seen them live in recent years when they play everything 3x the speed of the original song and it sounds like shit. I understand they have a large collection of songs and they wanna play as many of them as possible but it's ruined the live sound the band once had.

This is why 13 year old girls should be locked in cages.
I'm probably gonna go see them this month. I think Jerry's pretty crap for singing but it's only a few hours away and not going would be like stupid or something.
anyway, I dig The Misfits, but it wasn't always that way. Graves might have still been in the band when my two brother really got into The Misfits. I thought the Crimson ghost looked pretty bad ass in the American Psycho music video, but as soon as the music kicked in, I wasn't too impressed. That was when I knew nothing about punk, and I was all about heavy metal and screaming vocals.
Times change, people change, The Misfits have changed, but it is still super fun to hear local bands cover tunes, or see Only fronting the band. Leading the Misfits seems like something he enjoys doing, and I know his son was hitting up the sound board for their tour back in 2007 or so. I didn't get to meet Jerry, but I met Doyle when he went on tour the first time w/ Gorgeous Frankenstein. Great times
I'm always thankful that I got to hear The Misfits with Danzig before any other of its incarnations. And I started to listen to them years after the 1999 split-up with Graves, Doyle and Chud.
Who are they?
Where did they come from?

Walk down the path to hell
I love how Jerry Only enjoys hiding the fact that Graves was ever in the band, but that's a whole other subject.
And that 'love' is meant to be sarcastic.
I think a whole generation of fans would be gone if it weren't for Graves. He wasn't the best singer the Misfits ever had, but he was a damn good singer as far as singers go.
I enjoy old Misfits, they came though my area last week, but there was no way I was going to pay to see a band that has only one original member in it, it might as well be a whole new band.
I can only help but laugh at the mere mention of jerry everyone knows his vocals are shit, and that shit he pulled off with Kryst The Conqueror was fucking hilarious.
