Gothic Love Songs

Since Valentines Day is coming up... what are some songs about love (good or bad) by our beloved bands and musical artists within the gothic subculture? Please discuss, post lyrics, song links, personal insights into these songs... anything that has to do with this topic. Gothic couples (and singles), what are your songs?

It's kind of sad when people complain. However, I agree that it's agree-ably sad that Marilyn Manson is proclaimed Goth by the media and nooB fans.

i didn't want it to sound like i was complaining...i'm just more than a little tired of hearing about manson being the kind of goths and whatnot.

Okay I know I rrefered to Marilyn Manson but he is a Goth, he music isn't but he is personally, I just thought it had the darker aesthetic and that it could be classified as Black Metal, so I thought it deserved a chance to roll with the real music because it is a very good song.

Despite Marilyn Manson's goth influences he is far from Goth or classified as one thing. That's his whole point as an artist. It's to confuse people and make them feel something from his music and art.

The definition of black metal is emotion packed songs that are against the 'normal' people who are against the 'different' people. Marilyn Manson sounds like that but i guess his musci could be classified throughout his different albums because they change

where did you get your definition from? urban dictionary? what you just said has nothing to do with black metal.

Eh, I saw that coming. Actually, when considering goth love songs, my thoughts were stuck on what some goths would like instead of what music was literally goth genre.
PS: To any newbie reading my previous comment MARILYN MANSON IS NOT GOTH, atleast not according to the original definition of what goth is. I understand the threads are to be enjoyed by the elder bats and explored by the baby bats and still want to contribute keeping it that way.

Where do you get your definitons? Because I really think this is right since I'm a big fan of music since that's basically my entire life.

Genres of music have definitions and they are based on sound.

This is black metal

I'd LOVE for you to explain to me how the hell you think that is the same genre as Marilyn Manson.

And by the way, Black metal has NOTHING to do with Goth and certainly does not belong on this forum.

Not trying to be a bitch here, but you just sound absolutely ridiculous. You listen to Sisters of Mercy, that's great, but if you're not a troll then you need to do some more learning before you attempt to argue with people who are obviously much more familiar with certain music scenes than you.

I was raised by dj wolves in a cave and started listening to music before I even began hunting with the pack.

But who the fuck cares about the definiton of Marilyn Manson or black metal? The last I checked the forum is called Gothic/Death Rock music and not, Crappy music kids listen to, to piss off ma and pa. So this conversation will now cease or this thread will go poof.

Capice?

Type O Negative and Dommin both fall under gothic metal, not gothic rock. And talking about gothic metal here, that's a big no, no.

Try to stick with bands on this list if you're confused..

"The definition of black metal is emotion packed songs that are against the 'normal' people who are against the 'different' people. Marilyn Manson sounds like that but i guess his musci could be classified throughout his different albums because they change"

(o.O)

This is actually laughable sorry but you don't have one bit of a clue on what black metal is.

Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Common traits include fast tempos, shrieked, screaming vocals, highly distorted guitars played with tremolo picking, blast beat drumming, raw recording and unconventional song structures. Check bands such as Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, Graveworm, Venom, Satyricon etc.

only thing this and goth have in common is prob abit of the style ie black clothing. Apart from that the genres are different in so many ways.

And sorry but marilyn manson sounds nothing like that he's more shock rock, industrial rock, say a rip off of David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Kiss but just not as good.

Type O Negative belong in the death/doom gothic metal genre they might have some influence off second wave goth but thats it and they certainly don't belong here.

You might want to learn the history of goth check out a few actual goth bands such as Bauhaus, The Cure, Fields of the Nephilim, Siouxsie and the Banshee's.
