A lack of war would help both those causes. Democracy forced at gunpoint is no democracy at all!
Human rights... humans don't do so well at that. I reckon we should learn to communicate with more successful civilisations than ours and let them decide. The ants.
Perhaps an initial lack of Western interference influence could have prevented some bombings? Poke a sleeping dog and he'll wake up and bite!
I wonder how close to home that paper trail might lead.
Instead of forcing democracy on sovereign nations at gunpoint, which is doomed to failure unless the gun remains aimed indefinitely, maybe lead by example instead. For a nation to be told, at gunpoint or otherwise, that the way they've lived for hundreds (maybe thousands) of years is wrong, they're gonna need an example to look to, to show them why they are wrong.
You're gonna have to expunge Texas. And no repeats of Bush Jr.'s second election. Maybe ease up on the POW torture, too. Diplomacy before destruction! You don't need an army of soldiers, you need an army of Billy J. Clintons!
I do remember! I remember thinking, "Well fuck me sideways, that's a hell of a thing!"
Then I remember thinking, "I want a chunk of that wall to go with my collection of other historically significant rocks." I got one a few years later, too.
Hehe Reagan. I remember Reaganomics. And calling him Ronny Ray Gun.
