I am not a fan of rap, but I do respect all forms of music in which it holds artistic value. Now on that topic, I have recently found it hard to find a respect for the rap industry as the lyrics now have been dumbed down to a simple "walk it out" or what have you. It's too bad that no one can come up with anything constructive on that side of the music industry anymore. Personally, I think rap from several years ago was much more positive. Now all that comes out is crotch holding, drug promotion, and the idea that fornicating many women boosts your social status. It's a shame really.

I really love Proof. If no one knows who he is, go search around for his music. He's pretty much the only rapper I can say I love and will keep loving. Most of the other stuff I used to listen to, like 50, Eminem, etc., I don't listen to anymore. Young Buck is really good too though.
There's also a dude named KREVA that I really enjoy. Japanese rap just seems more intriguing to me than English rap. And in my opinion, I think it's better. *shrugs*
not a rap fan (far from it) but at some moments I don't mind a decent freestyle (decent freestyles are rare though imo) and it better not be about bitches 'n ho's.
as for hiphop, I don't mind some of it, it'sjust that these days not a lot of the good shit gets attention whilst the biggest crap you can find is released on cd because that's where the money's at.
I also prefer the music without an mc, just the beats 'n breaks.
