male - andrew eldritch..but ooh peter murphey has an amazing voice as well..and the guy from red lorry yellow lorry (have totally forgotten his name!)...i just can't decide, hehe
well now they will, because someone will want to be different and name some offbeat female goth singer that no one really cares about just to be original.
To be Goth it has to be Postpunk. Not one Symphonic Metalband has that sound, not suprising cause they are completely unrelated genres.
My favourites are Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) and Nik Fiend (Alien Sex Fiend).
Well..I don't really give a rats arse what they are anymore..This really wasn't worth arguing over in the first place...All I know is Anneke is a kick ass singer and The Gathering is a Kick ass band..I don't care if their Goth, Metal, Emo, Disco, or Country..
Well, If Cocteau Twins is considered goth in anyway on here, I'd say Elizabeth Fraser has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. And for the recored, I consider Garlands a goth-rock album!! XD
As for male voice, I've always thought that Peter Murphy's voice was pretty pretty, except I don't even listen to his stuff or Bauhaus that much at all!
Probably my favorite male singing to listen to then, regardess of how pretty there voices can be, are Nick Cave and Ian Curtis. Eeeeeeh, then again Nick Cave is if-fy, too.
I think I'd feel bad if I didn't mention Siouxsie as being a favorite female singer. Just beacause.
Hmmm.... I like the voices in Dead Can Dance. T___T
