I love the X5, I've had that for about 6 years now. Rebuilt twice, rekeyed once. It has a certain sound in the strings/pads that's very reminiscent of late 80s/early 90s industrial and horror movie soundtracks. The Nord is good for acid bass amongst other things but the filters I think could be a little fatter in the low end.
Next on the agenda is a tb-303 and the Yamaha SU10.
Here is my old arch top from the 50s, just had it restored though when I had got it there was no brand name, by looking at the head stock reminds me of a ricken backer
The pickups still work like new and the sound is beautiful.
I was thinking of a 303 or really saving my pennies and getting a Jupiter. I need to get some real analog in the mix.. the Nord can pull off 303ish bass tones but the resonance is a little bit sharp. The 303 has almost a chunky, white noise resonance but remains pleasing to the ear, very acid synth.. sounds awesome through a tube pre-amp.

Yea you really need to think about the 303. Are you really desperate for that 303 sound that you can't get it(or at least close) from something else you have? That's a lot of money to drop on something I don't consider worth the hype.
Some people will likely want to break into my studio when they see my equipment list.... but be warned! My studio is surrounded by land mines and snarling attack dogs, and yes, i do have a burglar alarm!

lets see Guitar side I have a home build Fender squier Franken fat strat, a Custom Ibanez Iceman IC-300BK [pickups are still stock ^^ woo!] damn near every boss single effect in existance which ill selling all except my NS-2, MD-2, MT-2, DD-6, RV-5 and DS-1, they rout through a BOss V-wah, into my BBE Sonic maximizer which goes into either a 100w tube Vox amp or my mixer. which is a Behringer Xenyx 1622FX
My synth setup goes as follows, A E-mu Xboard61 goes into my Roland MC-808 which midi outs into a M.O.T.U. Midi Express XT [pre-usb] which splits to a Korg mircoKORG, a Roland JP-8080 and sometimes my Boss SP-303 or my Casio CTK-451 [Cause I totally dig PCM drums!Drop my Ibaneez smash box after that and it's freakin' sweet] Software wise I use Fruity Loops Studios 7.whatever more samples then 2 160 gig hard drives an hold. and the synths I like using on that are Z3ta+, TBL, Monolisa, STS-101beta and SAM. I usually make music on this, turn off a few instruments when I'm done, burn it onto a CD which is also plugged into my mixer and I play along with what I got till I program everything into my MC-808. I off and on use my Microphone which is a SHURE S522 desktop mic for vocoding or vocals....
I use the E-mu 1212M sound card suite in my home built computer [AMD am2 single core 4000+, 1 gig of Kingston ram, crossfire ASUS board, and a NVidia 7800 vid card]
