About Me;;

My name is Emmy. I am Eighteen years old and come from England. I look young for my age and often get asked if I am sure I am eighteen. The most common age I have been mistaken for is 15 but I'd rather look young than old for my age. I like to think that I am kind hearted and caring to others. I speak my mind but I am also open to other peoples opinions. I love my family a hell of a lot and don't know where I would be without them. They have always been there for me and have helped me through so much. I love meeting new people and having big discussions about any topic.

Music is a very big part of my life. I’m in a band called Rurin in which I sing and play the keyboard/piano. I write all the lyrics and then write the music with my brother. I love being out there singing on stages to people. It doesn’t matter to me how many people are standing there watching when you start playing it’s how many people are standing there when you finish playing that matters to me. I have played in local venues near where I live but I have also had the opportunity to play in 2 venues in London one being a very well know venue known as ‘The Underworld’ in Camden. I love going to gigs and music festivals. It gives me inspiration to carry on playing and writing.

I am starting an Open University degree in Psychology at the beginning of September and I can’t wait. I have been out of education due to ill health and have not been able to study but I am hoping this method of studying where you do your degree at home in your own time as and when you can will be the way forward for me. I am looking at studying Psychology for a year and then moving into the Criminology side of it as I have been looking at becoming a criminal profiler.

There are hidden illnesses. Ones that people can’t see. One day you can be fine the next day you could be a completely different person. I can go from one day being able to go out shopping to the next day not being able to move. People don’t realise you don’t have to be in a wheel chair or have crutches or casts to have an illness. I try to stay as positive as I can and try to ignore any hate that I get. I just think to myself that I am a lucky one. There are people out there who have it worse than me and I should be happy with what I have.

I like video games and when I say video games I mean retro consoles like Dreamcasts and NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) This may sound cliché but I do like photography and have an interest in fashion. My fashion interests are different to your typical girlie girl who only buys labels like Abercrombie & Fitch, Jack Wills, Hollister, Top Shop, River Island, Superdry etcetc. I don’t find anything about the clothing sold at these shops appealing as you tend to find that everywhere you go someone has the same as you. I tend to buy from little unknown brands, customized shops such as etsy.com or sometimes I will import in from Europe, America or Korea. I'm more of a sit at home watching movies cuddled up on the sofa with a friend with some snacks than a going out kind of girl.

I dislike anyone who judges someone based upon; Sexuality, Gender, Race or Religious beliefs. I take everyone for who they are. I was at reading festival and stayed on the Disabled platform the whole time and I met some pretty amazing and inspirational people.

I do not agree with people changing themselves to suit others needs; whether it’s to be cool OR uncool. I admire people who mix and match styles that suit their lifestyle and figure.

I miss Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and awful lot. I never got the chance to see Avenged Sevenfold and I regret it. Avenged Sevenfold were one of the first bands I ever really liked and I just hate the fact that he is not around any more. He was a truly great musician.

I have an Idol/ person who inspires me and it is not your typical “LADY GAGA” or “KATY PERRY” as most girls are like nowadays. My Idol happens to be a man called Trent Reznor and (IMO) he is the most talented musician in the world. He has had his band Nine Inch Nails, done the score for soundtracks like The Social Network and is currently doing the score for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo as well as having a side project called How To Destroy Angles. I think he is such a talented musician and his work should not be missed or under-rated.
