Profile:
This part has not changed: I'm still fairly lost and a work in progress. But I think we all are even if we arn't consciously working on our lives. However, I may come across as self deprecating. I'm not. I'm truthful. I can make fun of myself. There is a difference.

For all intents and purposes I have a Masters degree (M.A.) in English. The emmphasis is in Creative writing, more specifically, poetry. Yes, I am a starving artist. Quite literally as I've been unable to find a job.

I try not to be one of those literary snobs that only write for their peers. Yes, I do write some very deep/hard to understand stuff. However, I do like to write thing for the everyday person to read. I actually think it's important for the average person to get into reading more, even poetry. Poetry seems to be a lost art. I wish people could find it again. I also like to be a poet diguising themselves as a novelist. I like to write prose to and am slowly working on a fantasy novel. I realize my prose is pretty crappy, but I still like to write it.. even if other writers i know look at me weird. Feel free to take a look at and comment on my journal. If i don't want you to see it or comment, I'll keep it private..but if it's there, then it's fair game.

Also, I finally deactivated the ratings bar. I'd rather you just talked to me as a person and not a number. The best thing I could use right now is not someone hitting on me or anything of that nature. I could really just use a good friend. However, I must warn you, I'm a little afraid of people. Warning: I have more than a few screws loose. I'm not all there. I'm pretty insane, so talk to me, but I warned you.

PLEASE DO NOT invite me to a cult unless it has something of substance to offer. I'm extremely picky and most of the time I decline. Also, I don't see the point in sending mass invites because it's not like you actually give a shit about me anyway.

Current Book(s): I've settledon The Plague by Albert Camus. I am going slow and keep striving so find some deeper meaning that may or may not be there.

I've realized I have an obsession with cookies. They just taste so darn yummy.

I've also had a longstanding obsession with tornados.

Movies! - I suppose I should add this section since I love movies just as much as I love music (I've written a screenplay, too. Studied in during undergrad). So here are some favorites of mine:
Willow, Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility (hush up. I love the British), Harry Potter movies, Mirrormask, Howl's Moving Castle, Underworld, Blade 3, Finding Nemo, Happy Feet, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Dark Crytal, Twister, Singing in the Rain, Everafter, Face Off, Ghostbusters 1 & 2, LOTR, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood Men in Tights, Bram Stoker's Dracula, What About Bob?, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (yes, I realize Kevin Costner does not have an English accent. The movie is damn funny), Mallrats, Happy Gilmore, The Matrix (only the first one!), The Muppet Christmas Carol, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Pan's Labyrinth, Shaun of the Dead, Big Trouble in Little China, Life of Brian, M.P. and the Holy Grail, Meaning of Life, Wedding Crashers, The Piano, Secretary, Tootsie, Love Actually, Meet the Fockers, Lady Hawk, Ocean's series, Bourne series, Young Frankenstein, Knocked Up
I am sure I left some out either because I've forgotten or I've not seen them yet. Give me time. ;)

Dislikes:
stress

Here is a new one that I've been thinking about: girls that post their pictures on myspace and VF and screw their faces into a slanted pucker. Take a look at the makeup thread in fashion. They want to show their eyeshadow off but screw their mouths up and think they look cool.

aging and my own stupid vanity
