About Me
This part has not changed: I'm still fairly lost and a work in progress. But I think we all are even if we aren't consciously working on our lives. However, I may come across as self deprecating. I'm not. I'm truthful. I can make fun of myself. There is a difference.

I have a Masters degree (M.A.) in English. The emphasis is in Creative writing, more specifically, poetry. Yes, I am a starving artist. I've been published a number of times; including the Suisun Valley Review and Rattlesnake Review. I was published in Convergence Lit Mag online in Feb 2010 so if you'd like to read it here is the linky I've also received a ton of rejection letters so it's give and take.

I try not to be one of those literary snobs that only write for their peers. Yes, I do write some very deep/hard to understand stuff. However, I do like to write things for the everyday person to read. I actually think it's important for the average person to get into reading more, even poetry. Poetry seems to be a lost art. I wish people could find it again.

I also would like to be a poet disguising themselves as a novelist. I like to write prose to and am slowly working on a fantasy novel. I realize my prose is pretty crappy, but I still like to write it.. even if other writers i know look at me weird. I also have a bad habit of not finishing any prose I start.

Feel free to take a look at and comment on my journal. If i don't want you to see it or comment, I'll keep it private..but if it's there, then it's fair game.

Also, I finally deactivated the ratings bar. I'd rather you just talked to me as a person and not a number. The best thing I could use right now is not someone hitting on me or anything of that nature. I could really just use a good friend. However, I must warn you, I'm a little afraid of people.

Current Book(s): Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond (reading this at a snail's pace); Wicked by Gregory Maguire; and various poets.

Here is a new one that I've been thinking about: girls that post their pictures on myspace and VF and screw their faces into a slanted pucker. Take a look at the makeup thread in fashion. They want to show their eyeshadow off but screw their mouths up and think they look cool.
