I have, however, decided to minimise my use of vf, as it has tried to out-mainstream the mainstream. I have been able to tolerate the increasing percentage of the profiles on the site that are emo and scene. After all, they are slightly more bearable than wiggers and the like. However, attempts by the admins here to impose a higher age of consent than even the one imposed by Canadian law and by other mainstream sites, indicates to me that they have succumbed to the slings and arrows of the mainstream media. I absolutely will not have my love life micro-managed by people living in their parents' basement and whose only meagre accomplishment in life is to be a volunteer admin on vf. Band I am giving some thought to putting together a Goth-girl band. I have the good fortune to know a lot of beautiful, artistic Gothic girls, and I like to organise things; so, it seems to be a logical fit. If you do vocals or drums, let me know. I am toying also with the idea of throwing in a couple of non-traditional instruments; so, if you are a cello player or something, do not be shy to mention it. A bit more about me (and more fodder for the haters) To begin with, I am not an uber-Goth. In fact, I would be the first to label myself a Goth poseur. I have none of the attributes valued by the uber-Goth: no piercings and only two tattoos (though many more are planned), nor am I pagan/wiccan, nor can I recite a long list of industrial bands or identify their songs. I am polygynous, which means that I sometimes have more than one gf (but they are monogamous, hence polygyny vs. the more general polyamoury). Don't approve of it? Once again....bite me. Here are some of the attributes I find most attractive in a girl:
Mind stuff If you have an interest in politics, religion, or other cerebral topics, that makes you an even better potential partner. I LOVE to discuss issues for hours over a soya latte or Vietnamese coffee. Politically, I am riddled with seeming contradictions. I am an anomaly: conservative and Gothish. Yes, I am slightly to the right of Attila the Hun on most issues. So, if you are liberal, socialist, feminist, pro-abortion, anti-gun, or anti-capital-punishment, that is fine, but do not bother engaging me in conversation if you cannot abide the opposite viewpoint. I am a vegetarian, but I do not judge people who do eat meat (unless it is veal ... that is someone's baby). I do judge people who wear fur. If that does not fit your view of what MSN is for, too bad - so sad. Being my friend or gf is not for everyone, particularly the faint of heart. But I am not restricted to the darker genres. Depending on my mood and the company, I can enjoy everything from retro 80s, to 90s pop, to swing, to opera, to classical. Favourite song ever is not even from the industrial/Goth genre...it's "Beyond the Sea" from Bobby Darin.
