About X

X Japan is a Japanese band formed in 1982 by Toshi and Yoshiki. They went to high school together and formed X. Which was their originally their name before, they performed in Tokyo areas and released their first single 'I'll kill You' from Dada Records.

Yoshiki then found the independent label Extasy Records and released X Japan's second single 'Orgasm' With fellow members Pata, hide, and Taiji.

On December 26, 1987, X had auditions held by CBS Sony which lead to them having a recording contract. They also then released their first full length album 'Vanishing Vision'.

They released their second album on April 21, 1989, titled 'Blue Blood'. as well as their first home video release, titled 'Blue Blood Tour BNakuhatsu Sunzen Gig'.

They had their follow up album ' Jealousy' which was released on July 1, 1991. In 1992, X decided to change their name to X Japan and Taiji also left X Japan and was replaced with Heath.

X Japan left Sony and signed to Atlantic Records. 'Art of Life' was released and then a next studio album was released titled 'Dahlia'. Toshi decided to leave X Japan and had their last farewell on December 31 and disbanded.

The other members had side projects as well. hide released solo albums, Toshi released solo albums as well, Pata and Heath were went with their side projects as well. Although currently Heath has a solo career and Pata is member of RAIN.

Yoshiki has numerous side projects that he's been working on. hide was becoming really successful with his side project, but sadly passed away on May 2, 1998.
,br> Then in 2007, it was announced that X Japan would reunite and have a tour. They also had a concert at 'Hide Memorial Summit'.
