February 26, 2011 Hola mutha fuckas,
So I moved some stuff around in the cult (put older things under different subjects, they're the other collapsible categories under general discussion if y'all didn't know...) and made a new game for us to mess around with. Hopefully this will help some with the activity. If y'all have any other games that y'all want to start up, go for it. No one is holding you back. I have ordered a recovery disc for my laptop so I will be much more active here soon. Sorry for being away for so long, I have tried to check up on you guys every so often. I didn't forget about you!!!

January 25th, 2011 Hey all you bastards,
I know a lot of you newer guys don't know me, but I'm Sid and I'm the owner of this cult. Finally, I've gotten around to actually coming on this website again and devoting some time into this cult. This means updates upon updates. I know a new layout is in order but I fried my Macbook (I have no money to fix it either) so I have no programs to really make anything new and spectacular, but I'll figure out something. I'm also going to update the cult playlist, stay on top of bands, movies, and books of the month and also member of the month. I also may be adding a few things. I am so grateful and thankful for Cory, Shelly, and Alan keeping this cult up and running and most importantly active while Skud and I seemed to fall off the face of the planet. I don't think this cult would exist anymore without you guys. Anyway, expect some new shit within the next couple of days.

January 11th, 2011 Hey ya scumfucks, It's the new year i hope none of you thought this meant all last years problems would disappear or something stupid like that. New year - New problem thats all. so how was everyone's new years anyways lets talk about it below in the general chat. i know i haven't been all to active lately due to work school and all the other mishaps of my life but i would like to thank you all for sticking around even with all the m.i.a nonsense. i would also like to congratulate Shelly for taking the December challenge as well as Alan (spell check said anal) and anyone else who took part in it. dont forget that just because there isnt a challenge if you like it here share us with your friends! alright you fucks im headed out. take care and

September 7 Hey fuckers, its Shelly. I am going to post a new thread to post your nominations for "Most Epic Picture". Basically, if you have an epic picture, of anything, post it, it will be open for about two weeks once I get it up, you can post more than one but no more than three per person please. We will vote on them, and then post the winner!!! It can be of anything food, cars, moshpits, people, ANYTHING. So go search your computer and the internet and as soon as I can learn how to size photos I will post the thread!!!
August 20th Hey guys, its Shelly. Things have been super slow around here. I am working my ass off to try to recruit people and try to get this cult more active. I am on here constantly and seriously, I think I have become obsessed with this cult (as sad as that may seem, but it is true, I have no life). So come on guys, post shit, even if you think that no one will care, I do. I like to hear about the shit that happens in your town, the shows you go to. If you join, just try to post a little. June 27th Ayyyy you bastards, its Sid. I've been trying to put together this website with whatever freetime I have, and I'm sorry about being so M.I.A. But also, I have a big announcement: Skud is moving up to my area sometime in the next few months (She's actually coming to visit me in about two weeks) and we're going to be filming a documentary called Project Isonomy. We are going to be traveling around the country and filming everything. Its basically a documentary for equal rights and what society is so blind to. For more information, there's a thread in the General Discussion area. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!
June 22nd Hey pop pickers, Cory here just wanted to touch base with you all and see how everyone is doing. just wanted to congratulate anyone out there who has graduated this year that was a big accomplishment for some including myself. As far as the staff goes i have to apologize on behalf of the crew for being so M.I.A lately you have to understand we all have lives and such - i will be doing a little updating around here to the best of my abilities. I will also be talking to Sid Skud Alan and Shelly to see where we stand on getting this going. February 10th. Heyyy you bastards, its Sid and I'm alive. I haven't been here in forever cause I had a lot to deal with between college stuff (I think its all over) and my own personal life because I'm never home anymore. But I'm hoping I can stay on top of things now as much as I can. To be honest I was a little afraid to look at the cult because I thought it'd be a complete mess, but its not because you guys are hella awesome. Anyway, within the weekend if I'm sitting on my computer I think I'm gonna sit here and try to put some stuff onto the cult. I know I always say I will, but I'm gonna actually do it. Ahh thanks for being so active, guys.
January 22nd. Ay scumfucks! Well its been another add slow break i just wanted to fill everyone in a little and see how everything has been. Oh and happy fucking new years. I will be doing a few minor updates and possibly be looking for a few new staff members. I talked to Skud shes doing really well I will tell her its time we get off our ass and get to work. I feel like we have let you guys down but we are doing our best with out personal lives and such. Oh and has anyone heard from Sid? If you have any ideas please feel free to contact myself or anyone in UTP but it seems like im the only semi active one anymore. peace - love - unity.
November 3rd. Hey guys, So i know the staff really has been letting you down big apology there. That being said how has everyone been lately? It looks like the 144 of you have done a pretty good job staying active that's what I like to see. How is the punk scene out there? No balloon boy out there? hah I joke. Anyone want to get personal? I've just created a sound off board. Lets hear what you have to say. The holidays are coming and that means one thing... Baby Jesus? fuck that! Its just means the new year is right around the corner and a whole new year for us punks to step up and be heard. Don�t let me down! Lets do work!
August 22. Huge apology to all the members in the cult. I thought I could stay on top of everything but when reality hit me in the long run, I really couldn't and all the staff members seem to be really busy trying to run their own lives at the same time. There's a lot of things in our way that's keeping us from here and I really would like to apologize for that. Hopefully within the next week or two there will be a lot of changes to this, probably a new forum and deleting some old posts and whatnot. I think you guys should give us some ideas at the same time about what you'd like to see, that'd be really sweet.
June 22. Not much of an update. Just going to say I don't know how many updates there will be in the next two weeks cause of a busy schedule. But if interested, check out some of the Punk Island photos Sid took in the Punk Island thread. But just really here to say there's not gonna be much of an update in the next two weeks, but hey, stay with us.
June 20. So the activity is getting better. Posted a new contest in the meantime while you kids get your vests together for the Best In Vest contest. The new contest is Best Buddy, pretty self explanatory and it ends next Sunday. Posted a few new threads, figured we need new stuff up, eh? Punk Island is tomorrow, and whoever is going, hey, tell us in the Punk Island thread. You'll probably be able to see/meet Sid if you're going and after the event, share some pictures! And also, share with us if you're going to this year's Warped Tour, we're going to stay up top with Warped Tour all summer long. Skud is going to be on tour for a few dates, so lots coming from there. Again, post pictures after your Warped Tour so under each date in the Warped Tour section we can post a link to them. Also, anyone with a cult that wants to affiliate is more than welcome! And any suggestions/ideas/comments/etc about the cult are more than welcome.
June 16. Finally got around to doing somethings. Pretty big update. Gave the cult a little bit of a new look and organized the forums on here. With the subforums, if you click on them, they show all the threads inside, I just made it not to expand so it looked a little neater. Also added two new things, Movie of the Month and Book of the Month, with a review from your staff members. Every movie and book going into the sections are of course, previously viewed/read by us. Also, I put the playlist in its own little section so you can turn the music on and off, and it won't be playing in the forums, cause I even know that can get a little annoying, especially with people posting videos and the such. There will be a new Member of the Month in July... and hopefully this cult will be hella active again!
June 4. So summer is almost here, and I'm really planning on getting things up and running again. New things and everything. We added two affiliates and you guys should definitely go check them out. Much appreciation if any of you have any ideas for the cult, just contact any of the staff members.
May 7. So its been a while. We're pretty inactive. We as a staff seem to all of been busy and Cory seems to be the most active on here. But since school is ending things should be up and running really soon and we're going to do the best to make it up to you guys. In the meantime, enter in the Best In Vest contest! C'mon! You guys need to get active too.
March 29. Hey guys, we know this cult has been pretty inactive but the whole staff has a lot of things packing down on them lately, and we really wanted to let you know that we're sorry and hopefully within the next few weeks we'll be active as hell. Anyway, I wanted to mention the DREAM Act that RiotGrrrlQuinn has going on and I really wish that everyone would sign it and read her story. There's a thread for it, it should be easy to find. She's personally going through something extremely drastic right now that is completely unfair and directly relates to the DREAM Act. So please, take five minutes and sign the petition and get the word out about it. We'd really appreciate that. No human being is illegal. No fences, no borders.

Up The Punks is probably pretty self-explanatory, just by looking at the name. But you don't have to be a punk to be in this cult, because we don't care about stereotypes, trends, and shit like that. We don't care about if you dress punk, your political beliefs, if you're straight edge, or what you listen to, etc. We just care if you have punk in your soul and if you truly believe that punk's not dead and know its not a fashion statement or a stereotype. We care that you know that punk is a state of mind.
Within the cult, you'll find tons of different things, like contests, games, debates, discussions, polls, etc. just like every other cult, but what makes us different is our originality with them and the fact that we incorporate so much and put in so much time to make this cult great. We even included Club 27, which even has its own section and we even incorporate the DIY ethic.
We're not assholes, we don't have a stupid application, we're not going to judge you based on what you look like. We're intelligent individuals, and we know what the hell we're all about.

Club 27
Kurt Donald Cobain was born on the 20th of February in 1967 in the small town of Aberdeem, Washington. His parents divorced when he was 8 years old. Kurt's mother, Wendy said she noticed a change in his personality & said he became really withdrawn from the world. In a 1993 interview Cobain later stated the reason for his withdrawl as a child was he was ashamed of his parents. He went as far as to say, "I remember feeling ashamed, for some reason. I was ashamed of my parents. I couldn't face some of my friends at school anymore, because I desperately wanted to have the classic, you know, typical family. Mother, father. I wanted that security, so I resented my parents for quite a few years because of that." He became overwhelmed & started feeling like an object for constantly being shuffled back & fourth between friends & family. In school Cobain's rebellion often led to getting beat & harrassed in the halls. The fact that his best friend in highschool was Gay & very open with it led to rumors that Kurt was also, a homosexual. These rumors only led to more torment & harrasment all at the hands of a homophobic student body. He began spray painting all over Aberdeem statements such as, "GOD IS GAY." In 1985 Cobain was arrested for spray-painting "HOMO SEX RULES!" on a bank. Years later in interviews Cobain would often call himself "Gay in spirit." & "probably could be bisexual." He even went as far as to say he wished he could be gay just to piss off homophobic people. Cobain found his release from the beating & tortment in the small town he lived by escaping to Seattle for punk shows & he depended on the thriving in the Pacific Northwest punk scene to keep him sane. Soon he spent all his time hanging around the practive space of the Melvins, a popular punk band in Seattle. Just 2 weeks shy of his graduation from high school Kurt dropped out because he came to terms with the fact that he didn't have the number of credit required to graduate.
Fast forward to Nirvana: While spending all his time in the Melvin's practice space Kurt met a lot of people including, Krist Novoselic & both boys shared a love of punk rock. Not long after meeting Kurt & Krist found themselves practicing in the room above the hair salon Novoselic's mother owned. Kurt was thilled to have someone who not only shared his love for punk but to also play music with. The 2 formed a band & went through a number of drummers before finding Chad Channing & the trip recorded Nirvana's first album, Bleach. However, they soon grew tired of Channing's styles & enlisted the talents of a new drummer, Dave Grohl. That choice would later be the smartest decision the band made because in 1991 Nirvana hit their most successful point with the realse of 'Nevermind' which gained them a large fan base & populatrity amoung the punks. It didn't take long for Cobain to start feeling the pressure of the public eye & media. He soon began to harbor anger towards people who claimed to be fans of Nirvana but didn't get the message the band was trying to get across. Being that Cobain wrote & composed most of Nirvana's work, he took it personal. At shows he even began insulting the crowds & fans, exspecially with the release of 'Insecticide'.
Love: Courtney Love, the front woman for popular grunge band, Hole attended a Nirvana show in 1989 in Portlan Oregon. It didn't take long before she soon developed a crush on the Nirvana frontman. After speaking with Grohl Love had found out that the crush was mutual & the 2 soon began dating. Sharing their passions for music & substance abuse. The 2 had an on-again off-again relationship but eventually found themselves inseperatable. About a year later, Love discovered she was pregnant with Cobain's child. The couple married in Hawaii on February 24, 1992. August 18 of that same year, Frances Bean Cobain was born.
Despite the birth of their child, the Cobain's continued with their drug usage & Love admitted to using heroine while "unknowingly" pregnant. The masses soon wanted to know whether or not Frances was addicted. Eventually Child Protective Services stepped in & the Cobain's found themselves before a judge. the judge ordered that Frances, who was only 2 weeks old at the time, be taken away from the Cobain's & placed in the care of Love's sister, Jamie for several weeks. They got visitation rights to see thier daughter but noth had to sumbit to urine tests for drugs & regular visits from a soical worker. Months slipped by & court dates came & went & soon the couple was granted full custody of their child.
Drug Usuage & Rehab: Kurt's first drug related experience when he was 13 & he smoked marijuana for the first time. It became a gateway & Kurt found himself high on Heroine & Percodan all supplied by a dealer in the next town over from Kurt's. Then in 1992 Cobain made his first attempt at rehab. While on an Australian tour Kurt was spending his nights performing on stage pail & gaunt from withdrawals. But as soon as he returned to the states, Kurt soon began using heroine. In 1993 Cobain overdosed shortly before a performance. Love came to her husband's rescue & injected him with an illegally acquried Narcan to bring him back to a concious state. He performed with the band & pretended that the whole thing never happened, neither confirming nor deny the ordeal.
His Last Days: While on tour in Germany Cobain was disagnosed with bronchitus & severe laryngitus. He was flown to Rome for medical treatment the next day, his wife arrived on March 3 to be with him. The next morning Love woke up & found that Kut had overdosed again, this time on champagne & Rohypnol (Love had been prescribed it.) He was rushed to the hospital & spent that day unconcious. Five days later he was released from the hospital & he returned to Seattle. Love later confessed she felt it was Kurt's first attempt at suicide. March 18 Courtney had to call police & tell them Cobain had locked himself in a room with a gun & that he was suicidal. Police rushed out & confiscated several guns & a bottle of pills from him. After being questioned Cobain defending himself saying he was not suicidal & that there was no gun in the room with him. He stated that he was hiding in the room from his wife & that he was by no means suicidal. Love took action & arranged an intervention concerning her husband's usage. The intervention took place on March 25 & consisted of bandmates, musicians, record compay executives & a few others. Krist Novoselic had told Cobain about the intervention ahead of time because he felt it was 'stupid.' But by the end of the day Kurt agreed to a detox program. Krist drove Cobain to the airport to catch his flight but in a fit of panic Kurt changed his mind & it resulted in a fist fight between the two friends but Cobain manged to get his friend off of him long enough to dart through the lobby screaming "Fuck You!" Krist didn't know that this would be the last time he would see his dear friend & band mate alive. Kurt built up enogh will power to go to recovery. He arrived at Exodus Recovery Center, in L.A. on March 30, 1994. The next night Kurt stepped out for a cigarette & scaled a 6 foot high wall & caught a taxi to the airport & went back to Seattle. Despite the fact he had been sighted a few times roaming Seattle, Courtney didn't know her husband's where abouts & went as far as to hire a private investigator to find him. Rumors started to spread that Nirvana was going to break up & the band pulled out of that year's Lollapalooza.
Join The Club, Kurt: On the morning of April 8, 1994 Kurt's body was found by an electrician who had shown up to install a security system. When no one answered the door he began peeking into windows to see if anyone was home when he saw what he thought was a manequin lying on the floor. Then he noticed the 12 gauge sawed off shotgun laying on the man's chest & saw blood coming from behind the ear. Realizing who's house he was at, the electrician was quick to call police. A suicide note was found where Kurt had stated that he no longer felt excited by music & the thrill was gone. He also quoted saying, "It's better to burn out then to fade away." he signed the note, "I love you, I love you"
Medical reports determined that his body had been laying there & that Kurt Donald Cobain offcially died on April 5, 1995 at the age of 27. Cause of death being a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. Medical reports also show that Kurt had traces of Heroine & Vicodin in his system when he died.
Fans didn't take the news well at all. Some began burning flannel shirts, the symbol for grunge, in the drive way of Cobain's Seattle home.
On April 10 a public vigil was held at Seattle Center & thousands of people attended to pay respects to the fallen rockstar. Love read parts from her husband's suicide letter but soon broke down crying & cursing her husband. Krist Novoselic stayed at her side the whole day. Before the end of the vigil Love handed out her husband's clothing to everyone who remained. Kurt Cobain's body was cremated as he wished.
