Storyline:




The vampires came out of the shadows from myth to reality after Japanese scientists developed synthetic blood that can maintain a vampire's life without needing to feed on human blood. Reactions to the vampires network television announcement (also known as the Great Revelation) were mixed. The reaction in the Islamic countries was the worst - death and torture. Nations such as Bosnia, Argentina and most African nations refused to acknowledge vampires, allowing humans to kill them. Some nations, such as France, Italy, and Germany, did not give vampires rights of citizens. The United States, Britain, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, and the Scandinavian countries were more tolerant. However, even in the USA they were not granted all of the rights of ordinary citizens; for example, they were not permitted to marry nor join the armed services. Rather than acknowledging the legend of deceased humans that have risen from the dead to prey on the living, the vampires insist they are simply the victims of a medical condition that makes them allergic to sunlight and affects their dietary needs.

Is the largest organization in the United States dedicated to promoting the equality and civil liberties of vampires. The AVL takes a three-pronged approach: lobbying for the Vampire Rights Act at state and national levels, disseminating accurate information about vampires to the general public and offering guidance to vampires seeking to mainstream. Each of these efforts supports one ultimate mission: To eradicate the fear and hatred of vampires that is caused by both widespread misinformation and an entire race's punishment for the crimes of a few. Since the discovery and marketing of synthetic blood, there is no longer any reason for vampires to remain hidden — or to be shunned or discriminated against.
