Welcome to The Crow
Based on the graphic novel by James O'Barr, this fantasy follows Eric Draven, a rock musician who is murdered along with his fiancée Shelly by a group of marauding thugs who terrorize the decaying city in which they live. One year to the day after his death (which happens to be Devil's Night), a mystical crow appears at Eric's grave; Eric rises from the dead and, with the bird as his guide, goes on a mission to avenge himself against Top Dollar, the leader of the gang who killed him.

Interview with Linda Daemon of DRUGZONE
By Miss Crow

Thank you "Linda" for taking time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with me.It is a pleasure getting to know you.

its obvious you dig some seriously cool music. Q:What song would you say best describes who you are as a person?

Linda:Music is everything to me. There are so many lyrics in the world of music that people can relate to, but I think that the lyrics that I write describe me best. I Hate Humans, Living With Lies, etc. All the lyrics I write are about things that happen around me, with me, or with my friends and experiences we have. They all come from me, so they explain a lot about who and what I am.

do you find any of the people on vf worth talking to?Have you made any good relationships friendship or otherwise that you would not take back for anything?

Linda:First of all, I have to start off by saying that I’m a very down to earth type of person. A lot of the people on vampirefreaks.com are kinda, I don’t know ‘to themselves’, others think a bit too much of themselves… Some people act as if they were royalty or something. All my life I’ve been saying that actors and musicians should get off their high horses and start acting like normal people and start remembering that it’s the fans that made them what they are today. And here we have loads of not so ordinary, but quite unfriendly people acting ‘like the stars do’. It makes me wanna puke. People like that “Make Me Wanna Kill”. J For example: If someone adds me as a friend (be it my own, private profile on some website, or our bands’ profile), I /we feel honored, because it IS an honor if someone is interested in you or curious about you and adds you. There are loads of people on vf that are like: Do you KNOW who I am? How dare you add me as a friend! On the other hand, I’ve met loads of nice people as well. Interesting, lovely, freaky people. I like weirdoes! I’m a weirdo too! Everything out of the ordinary interests me.

Do you have any dreams that you have had since you were a child that you are hoping to accomplish?

Linda:Only one, true dream: to be a well-known rock singer. To go on tours, sing for thousands of people and stay down to earth on the way. Just like KMFDM or Mindless Self Indulgence or Deathstars. No matter how popular they are, they always manage to sign autographs after a show and talk to their fans, even party with their fans. These are the TRUE rock stars of this world! My other dream (not as serious as the first) is to open a coffee shop in Amsterdam one fine day. But I’ll be happy as hell if I accomplish my first dream.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Linda:Partying with my hubby, Tommy Muratore (he’s the coolest and most fun person in the whole world), and bandmates plus our friends. Rollerblading, going to concerts, watching horror movies, cooking, baking, listening to music. Stuff like that.

Well we must remember we are in a cult dedicated to the late great Brandon Lee.What is your thoughts on his life and death?Do you think his death was a horrible accident or the cause of "The Lee family curse?"

Linda:I think Brandon Lee was a person with a huge career ahead of him, and he died before his time. It’s sad to have talented people die so young.

Tell us a story about a day in your life.

Linda:I’m almost always happy, positive and energetic. I love my husband, and I love being with him all the time. I love our band mates. I love our music. My mind is always on overtime when it comes to Drugzone, so I’m always dealing with promotional stuff, arranging shows, sorting things out. Oh, and a beer a day keeps the doctor away.

What's your opinion of George Bush?

Linda:He’s a little shit! He’s not even worth my opinion!

What are some of your pet peeves?

Linda:I hate dishonesty and lies, I hate people that are conceited and think they are worth more than others. I despise the way that humanity has evolved.

Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together...Can you name an instance where a good friend hurt you deeply? How did you handle it?Any advice for others in similiar situations?

Linda:Damn, it happens to me too often. I tend to trust people too easily. I get stabbed in the back quite a lot, especially in Hungary. Hungarians are great at ‘wearing masks’ and acting differently to what they actually are just so they can be your friends. I’ve had ideas stolen from me, friends taken from me by other so-called friends. I’ve spent money on people who weren’t worth it. The last time a friend fucked me over was when our bass guitar player suddenly left Drugzone. The guy was more of a friend to me than a band mate, so he hurt me pretty deep. I’ve lost my easiness with trusting people since then.

Do you have any strange fears or dislikes we should know about?

Linda:Not to my knowledge. I’m not too keen on small children and babies. They get on my nerves. Life is too precious and I don’t think it should be spoiled on breeding. I don’t like religion, politics, the press and the media! My friends say that the only thing that scares me is when I’m running out of cigarette paper. Maybe I’m a bit afraid of death, but I don’t really know yet.

Whats your view on drugs and alcohol??

Linda:Bring ‘em on! But you have to be careful! Being an alcoholic is way uncool and only losers and weak people turn into drug addicts.

What do you think makes you stand out from a crowd?

Linda:I’m weird! I care.

If there was one day you could rewind back to what date or what is it that happened on that day that you would want to go back to it?

Linda:I’d love to go back to the summer of 2003! That’s the summer that I met my husband and future band mate, Tommy. And that’s also the summer that I met Marcell and Attila. We had a fucking blast partying all that summer! It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. 2003 was one of the best years of my whole life!

Whats one thing you cant live with out

Linda:My husband: Tommy! Absolutely!

If you could take up any profession in the world and succeed in it, what would it be?

Linda:The only thing I care about is being the singer of Drugzone. It’s the only thing that I would like to succeed in.

Can you remember your earliest childhood memory?

Linda:For some reason, I have an excellent memory. I remember when I was a baby and my twin brother and I were being christened (you heard it, I was actually christened – yuck) and he cried like hell when they poured water over his head. I even remember thinking that I was gonna hurt the person causing my brother pain.

If you could spend a day with an celebrity or famous person, dead, alive, fictional, who would it be?

Linda:Good question! Trent Reznor (NINE INCH NAILS), Marilyn Manson, Klayton Scott (CELLDWELLER), Jimmy Urine (MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE), Rob Zombie, Peter Steele (TYPE 0 NEGATIVE), Johnny Depp or Bam Margera. These people are all people I look up to, I couldn’t choose between them. It would be awesome to meet any of them. I’ve already met Peter Steele and Jimmy Urine, so at least I’ve met two of my idols, but I’d love to meet them again.

as quoted by James o Barr~
Goth isn't a fashion statement - it's a scream in the dark for acceptance.
What is your take on goth?

Linda:Don’t know much about the subject… There are some goth clothes that I absolutely adore though!

What is your view of people today?

Linda:Not to good! Humanity sucks! We’re just a disease on this beautiful planet that we’ve been given. No one really, truly cares about nature or animals or other people. There are tooooooo many humans on earth, and everyone just cares about themselves in the end. That’s why I look up to people who are kind and caring and curious.

Name a place you want to visit and why it is you want to visit?

Linda:Fucking Holland!!!!! Mainly Amsterdam! Everybody knows why.

The Band

What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

LD of DrugZone:As I’ve already said, our song lyrics are about experiences that I have had and all kinds of things that happen to my friends and myself. I might be singing about vampires and Dracula in one song to an “untrained” ear, but if you take the time to read through my lyrics properly, you’ll notice that it’s really about relationships, love and how every woman is searching for her ‘Dracula’ in this life. I Hate Humans and many other songs are about humanity and how disgusting and ignorant people can be. I enjoy writing lyrics about everyday problems. I have my own opinion on any subject you can give me, since I don’t have time to speak to every single person in our fan base, I speak to them through my lyrics.

What image do you think your music conveys?

LD of DrugZone:Hmmm…: You CAN be creative, you CAN be different, you CAN be strange, just be yourself and don’t let society change you into anything that you are not! DON’T believe in what the media and the press says, always search for the truth. You don’t have to practice any religion just because it’s what everyone else does. You don’t have to follow ‘the flock’ and live exactly the same lives they are living: School, marriage, house with a white picket fence, kids – it’s just like a stupid trend, everyone copies their neighbor. We don’t have to live like animals, breeding isn’t our only goal. We have minds, thoughts; it’s about time we started using these traits. And leave politics to the pigs! Politicians are just people that want to rule other people and make decisions instead of them.

What are your immediate music career goals? (Next 1 to 3 years.)

LD of DrugZone:We’d like to start playing around Europe! We need a new record deal, cuz to tell you the truth, our label sucks big time! They promised us all kinds of stuff before we signed the deal, and they have hardly fulfilled a quarter of the things they promised. We’re searching for a new contract.

How would you define the word “success”?

LD of DrugZone:Success = when something you create is loved and enjoyed by millions. That is true success.

What is your inspiration for your song "i hate humans?"

LD of DrugZone:Humanity, and the sickness that it has evolved into.

What is your music background? (Tell your story.)

LD of DrugZone:Linda Daemon: Carmena, Bloody Foxes, Sugar Fix, Zero-G, Drugzone. (I’ve been in the music business since I was 14.) Tommy Muratore: Negative, Non-sense, Drugzone Attila Muratore: Negative, Non-sense, Drugzone Marcell: Gibberish, Non-sense, Drugzone Dió: Non-sense, Drugzone

Why do you want to record and release your own music? (Be very honest.)

LD of DrugZone:Because we love our music and we were all born (destined even) to be musicians. Music means everything to us. We couldn’t live without it, plus we’re not good at anything else. J

How do you rate your live performance ability?

LD of DrugZone:We’re never pleased with ourselves. We always want to do better and give the crowd more.

What do you think about downloading music online?~

LD of DrugZone:Well, it had to happen. Some people are in the music business for the money, they despise when people download their songs illegally. We think that it’s fine up to a point.

How does music affect you and the world around you?

LD of DrugZone:Music is everything!!!! If the world was without music, we’d be dead by now.

What are the biggest obstacles for bands?

LD of DrugZone:One obstacle out of many: Living in a country (Hungary) that has never produced a world-renowned band yet and that doesn’t support bands that want to make a name for themselves outside of Hungary. People keep telling us that if Drugzone was based in the U.S. we’d all be huge stars by now. Things are much harder when you have to start from a country like this one.

What are some of the names of the clubs or hotspots you have played at?

LD of DrugZone:We haven’t been out of Hungary yet. We’re trying to get our asses out of here and playing shows around Europe, but we have to “make a name” for ourselves first, so it’s easier to organize things with club in foreign countries. We like opening for big, world-renowned bands best. It’s always nice playing for someone else’s crowd.

The darkness fades away. My love is not here to stay. The dreams in my mind shatter. My wounds turn old and tattered. I cannot live without her, She is my world. All I want is to feel her touch. As her fingers gently brush my cheek. I know in her presences I'm weak. Every time I try to talk I cannot speak. Or my mind becomes bleak. Because all I think about is us together eternally.
