TBS was created in July 2007.
Our purpose has always been to form a safe, healthy environment for our members. We want to be a haven--the place where you come to find solace and support.

We also want to change the world. Which is why we offer a wealth of information on charities and organizations. We want you to get involved in your community. Because when you change your life, you have the power to help other people change theirs.

At TBS, we are the catchers.

The Bathroom Sink might seem like an odd name for a group like ours.
Peer counseling and a household fixture?

But to me, it seems like the most obvious combination. And that's because the bathroom sink is an item of extreme importance in my life.

During the hardest times I experienced, I often found myself drawn to my bathroom. It was the quietest room in my house, the one farthest away from all the other noise and distraction. It was the one place I could go to be truly alone. I dragged an old CD player in and I was set.

I spent two years returning to my bathroom sink. I would sit there until sunrise--thinking, writing, and often falling asleep. I made some of the most important decisions of my life there. I felt the full spectrum of human emotion. But the last, and the most lasting, emotion that I felt was hope.

I wanted to give my members that same feeling. I want The Bathroom Sink to be their place of refuge. The safest place they can go to when they need to escape the world. A place for learning, change, and growth.

Respect all Staff members.

No drama. Take it outside the Cult or contact Blooms if things need to be handled. Do not start alliances or feuds within this Cult. We should all be mature enough to do that.

Do not post triggering images. This includes photos of cuts or icons that contain images of blood, cuts or explicit phrases. I know that it might express something you are feeling or help you cope, but it doesn't help everyone in the same way. It could act as a trigger, and we can't allow that to happen.

Post in the appropriate stickies. Do not start new game threads without permission from Blooms. If you're not sure where to post something, just ask! The Staff will be happy to help you in any way.

When responding to threads... make sure that the advice you give is on topic. Irrelevant or spam posts will be deleted.

Never promote the use of self-harm or other harmful behaviors.

Within the messageboard of TBS, you're going to find a variety of threads.

Since our main purpose is providing support and advice, a majority of those threads will be made by different members. Asking for your point of view on their life--sharing their stories and asking you to help them. This is the foundation of The Bathroom Sink. So we ask you to be respectful and read the rules before responding. We're a family here.

We also have a lot of different game and discussion threads. Game threads are there to help you relax and have fun. Discussions allow you to voice your opinion and learn different perspective on issues like religion and love. If you want to open your own discussion, just message Blooms to get her approval!

Finally, TBS provides information threads. You'll see names like "Trichotillomania" and "Seasonal Affective Disorder." These issues are ones that the staff research and report back to you. The more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make the right decisions concerning your health. As always, TBS does not promote self-diagnosis. We only hope to help educate you.

Sean is absolutely one of a kind.

In a world where too many people are photocopies, he has embraced all the things that make him unique. Since joining TBS in October 2007 his patient nature and wonderful sense of humor have been a constant source of joy for the members and the Staff alike.

He is reliable and hardworking; a perfect balance to his lighthearted good will.

His presence in this group (and this world) is greatly appreciated.
We love you, Seannie!
