This project is maintained primarily by this community and the community over at Open Source. Easy Bake Linux (EBL) - Minimal
Half Baked Linux (HBL) - Light
Totally Baked Linux (TBL) - Jam-packed with software goodness.
This is not technically a distrobution of linux so much as it is... Linux, Scripted. The base install would be just exactly what is necessary to continue. From there in we could give the System Admin (SA) or End User (EU) the choice of manually configuring their system to a limited point for just basically a shell or whatever they need or go on to things like desktop packages, chosing from any number of distrobutions to upgrade to with a firm base to start off with, or the choice of our many different combinations of desktop packages which will include a fully functional desktop with any Window Manager (WM) or Desktop Environment (DE) including things like wallpaper engines, panel engines and stuff from there. Also things like server pakcages would be good. But really we just need to compile a large list of packages, where they come from first, and get those packages as soon as they come out, or with in a reasonable amount of time. all infinitely through a simple interface.
The user could also chose the stability level for each package individually or in a group. So if you have a certain set of applications that have a tendency to be stable enough for you in the testing group and a certain set which have to be stable, or even older versions. All of this established through an interface to git and a repository server.
If the user just wants a shell and a kernel, give it to them, if they want a full powered programming desktop with every tool known to man, give it to them!
The project itself is completely open source. This project has no control over the licensing of the software which you install after you are done with our install disk.
We cannot offer help for packages which we do not maintain ourselves, but hopefully we will have a resource for locating which community would best serve your question.
