Mortuary_Chamber Poem The secrets, lost, lay hidden by night,
Expose the truth with candlelight.
The morgue is empty, silent as death,
But listen closely; was that a breath?
The flames cast shadows on the walls,
One quite short, one very tall.
The cold sends shivers all around,
As footsteps echo from the ground.
It's midnight at the morgue again,
But will this haunting cease to end?
The searchers hold their torches high,
And listen to a high-pitched cry.
The sound is coming from a door,
Where pools of blood cover the floor.
The party rushes foward, at last,
To uncover secrets of the past.
As they approach the wooden door,
They hear the cries begin, once more.
The torches' light begins to fade,
As through the pools of blood they wade.
Reaching the door, they find it locked,
The key is missing, the keyhold blocked.
A large man yells out, with a frown,
"Stand back, stand back, I'll bust it down!"
The wooden door had once concealed,
Two fresh corpses, now revealed.
The last torch light begins to flicker,
If only they'd been a little quicker.
