During a time when the old Gods were worshipped, a race of Deities reigned supreme. They had many names depending on which corner of the globe their followers inhabited. The most powerfull amongst the Godhead weilded magicks known as the Aetheric. With it, they performed miracles, granted life, and took it away. These acts when witnessed by mortals ensured the Deities supremacy, as their strength was rooted in humankinds belief in them. ~
As the monotheistic faiths began to spread, many of the benevolent gods & goddessess of the old world began to wither and die. One of the few deities that was strong enough to not succumb to oblivion was Erebus, the oldest and strongest of the Gods. The demonic deities, not reliant on the worship of humankind, then seized the opportunity to claim dominance, groups rapidly formed and a war began. ~
This battle proved to be fruitless as the races of gods and demons alike fought each other to the point of near extinction. The bloodshed came to an end as the few who survived fled the deity kingdom to live in solitude amongst humankind. ~
A new age has now dawned and the human race is heading towards total spiritual ruin after having lost their connection with any sense of God. Seeking to readdress the balance, creation has decided to grant the Old Ones a chance at redemption. A new race of Deity is then born who, although have mortal parents, possess the capacity to grow to the former strength of their predecessors. ~
Driven by instinct, they are drawn towards the land were Erebus was worshipped as All-Father of the gods. It is here where they come to find the meaning to their existence. Sensing this exodus, Erebus returns from his solitude and builds a city to match the glory of his previous kingdom, which upon completion, he christens Dark Haven.
