5 Finger Death Punch and In This Moment Live Review
The final metal show for Denver in 2008 had arrived on 12/1, and how appropriate it is that it happened to be 5 Finger Death Punch's first headlining tour hitting their home town. The Fillmore was packed wall to wall with a crowd of younger metal heads and even the most brutal mosh put veterans Denver has to offer.
Horse returned as the opener for this show and I must say as much as I enjoyed their set when they opened for Mudvayne this one sounded much better. I was rather anxious to witness rising band In This Moment, and was not at all disappointed. They were met with one thunderous roar coming from the audience. Now I have to state for those who are not aware, Denver's altitude always leaves singers gasping for air, even Rob Halford of Judas Priest has a tough time here hitting notes and making them truly resonate. Well Maria did not share this problem, her voice sounded amazing and filled with conviction. This truly appeared to be a band living "in this moment" of triumph and just having a great time. 5 Finger Death Punch hit the stage afterwards offering the audience their brand of balls to the wall aggression and enough testosterone to make even Stallone cringe in fear. For 5FDP's singer Ivan the energy of playing in front of that many people who were literally screaming his lyrics in his home town must have been a bigger rush than a priest in a room full of choir boys. I recommend all to check this tour out while they can, and don't forget your teeth guards. Now here is the visual evidence:
I saw Five Finger Feath punch perform with Korn Oct 2007. It was fucking amazing!!! I got the lead singer to sign my neck. We actually ran into the band at a gas station next door to the auditorium. It was kick ass! In This Moment has been a fav of mine since their first album!!! I wanna see them live one day!
Come back to North East PA, saw you with Korn at the wachovia arena. Saw In This moment at the Scranton Cultural Center Scranton with Rob Zombie. Both where killer shows. All we get in this neck of the woods are big festivals once or twice a year. I hate paying 200 bucks to see 2 or 3 bands i like and watch others that i think are so so.
