I am Laurence, or Laura, and I am a pretty simple person.
Why is that so? Simply because I assume myself, don't need much to be happy and I'm down-to-earth.
I hate being labeled; I was a victim of bullying when I was younger and I just hated how people can judge you and believe stupid rumors when they haven't even spoken to you or even know your name! Of course, it's only natural for people to judge others by their looks, but one should still give it some efforts and try to get to know the person before deciding what to think about them.
I believe you don't have to follow a genre or trend to be someone. Sometimes, I don't get people saying "I dress gothic because I'm marginal; I'm different" On what basis are you different from all the other goths who dress the same way? How can you call that original? What's important is being you and remaining true to your personnality! It's not about the trend you fallow, it's all about your brains and charisma that makes you an interesting person. You don't need to try to impress others; you should be you and proud of it.
My friends would describe me as someone who is really mature and loyal. I don't like to hurt people's feelings, but I'm honest. I have always been the listener; a lot of friends come to me to share their fears, anger, joys, whatever they need to let go off their shoulders. I've always been there when someone needed me and I'm always glad to help.
I'm known for being someone with a good general knowledge.I read a lot; newspapers, reference books, websites, magazines, etc. Some of my interests are photograhy, design (any form of design, architecture, graphic, interior design, etc.), fashion, marketing, management, travel, languages, litterature, politics and history.
I am studying communications in university and I love it!I guess that's why I try to fuel my general knowledge by reading so much!
I'm not the most outgoing person at first, in fact, I'm rather shy, but once you get to know me, I'm probably one of the most spontaneous and talkative person you'll meet!
You might want to have things clarified; I am from Montreal, Quebec, but I have lived for a while in Helsinki, Finland. That means I can speak and understand fairly well Finnish.
