I began cosplaying and modeling to break into something new and something unique back in 2002. Ever since then I have striven hard to deliver a unique combination of the two over the years. I make all of my cosplays myself. But I also have a lot of friends who have sewn or made me cosplay related gifts or commissions in the past. Cosplay is about having fun for me. I get to become some of my favorite characters and have fun at conventions with my friends. One of my favorite parts about cosplay is getting to meet everyone at the cons. There is such a wealth of talent in this community and it's amazing to see how it's grown! I also love setting up shoots for my cosplays. Picking locations or building sets and working with my photographer friends to get that perfect shot is a lot of work but it's so amazing to see the end result! And I absolutely love being able to share that with everyone who follows my work. That's why I've been recording video blogs and getting behind the scenes photos at most of my shoots. To share with everyone what me and my friends do, and to have something fun to look back on when I'm old and grey. It still blows my mind that I've recorded over 100 video blogs, almost all of them pertaining to my cosplay and modeling work. I've been able to do so much because of the hard work I pour into what I do. I've been featured on two MTV shows, two HBO series, featured in various articles and editorials in newspapers and magazines across the globe, a CD cover that was released world wide, a spot at Fashion Week NYC, published my own photo book, been a cosplay guest or industry guest at countless conventions and most recently I've partnered with Nerd Block for a huge cosplay project! Cosplaying and modeling isn't the only thing I do with my time though. I am a full time graphic designer and also run my own business for cyber falls and cyberlox accessories, Head Kandi. Both of which keep me very busy, but I still always find time to cosplay and model. I used to vend Head Kandi at conventions, but the business took off enough that I didn't have to any longer, so I sell exclusively online. Though I do miss the excuse to go to more conventions. I live a pretty normal life outside of all my work. I live in NJ, right outside of NYC with my boyfriend and pomeranian, Puff. I eat way too much food, want to marry my bed because I love sleeping but shhh don't tell it I'm having an affair with Netflix right now. ;D My taste in fashion, music, and well- pretty much everything varies greatly. But I certainly have a distinct style and tastes that anyone who knows me can point out pretty quick. I take inspiration from what I like, and I'm a pretty open person when it comes to that. I'm friendly and chill for the most part and love meeting new people. But I'm also the type of person who likes stay in with 1 or 2 friends on the weekend and just watch movies. Some times I can be clumsy and scatterbrained, which makes me a bit of a mess at busy conventions or modeling events. My resting bitch face can be a bit of a turn off for some people to come say hello but please, if you see me at a con or event say hello to me, contrary to popular belief I do smile and I don't bite.
